Name of the movie that I selected was “Stranger in Good Company”. This movie was directed by Cynthia Scott and it was released at May 03, 1991(www.imdb.com). This movie is 105 minutes long and audience for this movie is mostly adults. I chose this movie because it is a heartwarming, slow paced reflection on life, the strong human spirit, and the meaning of true friendship when it occurs between strangers. In addition to that, this movie that show us the true unity, love, and individuality. This movie is related to the aging because almost all the actors are seniors and they truly bring their life memory to the movie. This movie shows us many sociological imagination, life course and diachronic vision that most of the older people have. This movie has eight characters, six old women and their bus drive and a middle-aged women named Michelle. The fact that the cast are not actors makes it even more amazing. I love each of these women in the movie. Each one has their own personality which comes out beautifully in the film. They story began with when all the actress are traveling together in come country side of Quebec, Canada. All the sudden their bus breaks down and leaves six old women, Michelle and their bus driver in the woods of an isolated countryside. They find an abandoned cottage in the woods and to survive, they feast on wild raspberries, frog legs, and fish. In addition to that, they share their past experiences to kill time and survive in the woods. Before all the women meet each other, they talks little about every single characters and their past life. Basically in the group, one woman is a lesbian, another a nun, another a stroke survivor. When they found the abandoned collage that offers no amenities like no b... ... middle of paper ... ...sorily. In short, I LOVED this movie and other students will, too! In conclusion, I liked this movie because it showed women of very different backgrounds coming together, accepting each other, and becoming close friends during a crisis moment. In reality of today’s society, I saw that women are jealous against each other instead of working together. This movie shows the joy of overcoming differences and forming bonds with diverse women. In a very simple term, the director reminds us of the unique book of life that we each have. The other message is how the older are separate from society, because of their limitations and age. The older ladies in this movie shows us and other older people how to bloom again, and relive. In this movie they share their life, their tales, and their lessons from the past with us to change our typical mentality about older people.
On the TV show, The Movie Show, David Stratton described the film as a “bold and timely film about the stolen generations.” The film is so highly rated for its amazing plot, the well-used mise en scene and the film techniques including the camera work and sound.
The audience for this text is for a wide range a people and family. This movie is a great family movie as it shows determination and the will to move beyond the past. Especially for those that perceive they don’t belong or are passively rejected. The director has used a inspiring film to persuade humans to move beyond there past. To forgive and forget.

This film addresses the real way you feel or think about yourself. It persuades the viewer to really take some time to analyze how they view themselves. People either picture
The major theme of this movie is that love doesn’t always have to include money and materialistic things. Also that not everything has to happen like they do in the movies.
...autiful creatures and deserve everything life has to offer. When gathered together, nothing can destroy the strength of a woman. Guidance from parents, at a very young age, can help mold the minds of the young children in today’s society. This world has become overpopulated with greed and hate. The only way to get past the hatred and violence is to love thy neighbor, and protect our young from the unnecessary violence that can be eliminated with love for one another.
The film is portrayed in the past and present scenario setting. It is based on a young couple’s love and passion for one another, but are unexpectedly separated due to the disapproval of the teen girl parents and the social differences in their life. At the start of the movie, it displays a nursing home style setting with an elderly man named Duke (James Garner), reading to an elderly woman named Mrs. Hamilton (Gena Rowlands), whose memory is inevitably deteriorating. The story he reads to her is a love story about two teenagers named Allie (Rachel McAdams) and Noah (Ryan Gosling), that met in the 1940’s at a carnival in Seabrook Island, South Carolina. The two teens are from different cultural lifestyles,
Nonetheless, this movie taught me about endurance and that one can achieve their goals despite the challenges that they face in life. I learnt that as long as I set my mind to it and never give up, nothing can bring me down. While this movie is really meaningful and inspiring, the deepest message that I take away from it is family. It reminds me of how much my parents have gone through to provide to my needs. Similar to Gardner’s character, my parents don’t complain or give up on me. They endured our difficulties while convincing me that everything is
The controversy over abortion has been going on for years. This movie portrays how the debate has changed over the decades in a befitting manner. It is about three different women who come upon having to make the choice of terminating their pregnancies. The setting takes place in the same house during the course of 40 years where a different women deals with the option of aborting her fetus. This movie shows the various reasons woman want to get abortions, each being a valid reason in a liberal point of view.
I would recommend this film to young adults and adults. I personally admired it because it made me connect to the world outside man-made buildings and structures. It gave me inspiration, dedication, and motivation to achieve my goals. I would rate this movie 3.5 because the characters and setting were well chosen. Overall, the movie sends a meaningful message of happiness lying within people, not
This was an intense and emotional sports drama. This film shows the true love for the American game we call football. Even if you have differences between one another, this film demonstrations that anybody can overcome those differences, in which they did through the love for football. In these case even from one of the most racist community during that time, they as well where able to overcome racism to achieve something even greater. The same issues that where presented throughout the film, really made the audience look at themselves to have a better understanding of their own society. This film also presents the need to come together. In this case it was the football teams need to come together in order to help them succeed. This relates to society in the real world because we all have a need to be connected to someone or
As the movie progresses it has become prevalent to the NASA program they must realize and terminate their racism and be willing to work together these women. This movie is inspirational because it shows society in life no matter how many people try to put you down, hard work and the desire to never give up will allow for success.
In this movie the main character Tyler seems to be a disturbed angry unhappy young man. Not because he is a bad person, no it is because he is a kind and sensitive boy who hoped for a better more connected life for himself and his family. The death of his elder brother by suicide and the separation of his family caused him to lose hope in life and succeeding.
This film does a great job of explaining the cultural misrepresentation of women in the media. The reason why this film does so well is because it’s narrated almost exclusively by women. There is no better way than to get a woman’s perspective about an issue than to get it straight from a woman. It showed how women are now in high positions in government, corporations, and other various occupations, which they are deserving, but not at equal numbers as men. There was never a point in the film that I personally felt ignored, glossed over, or grossly misrepresented by this film because men were never the intended topic. The message is to raise attention to the bias content about women is today’s media world. It also was about the marginalization
This is a “love knows no bounds” drama that poignantly portrays a relationship between two powerful women. On one hand, the narrative doesn’t veer far from the course of a film like The Notebook (not that two such films deserve to be in the same discussion), and is certainly a film that contributes to breaking down barriers of Hollywood heterosexually – similar to Brokeback
