“The strange thing about the paranormal is that no matter how often [a person proves] it, it remains unproven” (Chopra). Given personal experience and evidence by professionals that have dedicated their lives to find answers regarding the paranormal and the afterlife. There will always be skeptics so long as there are humans with their own thoughts and opinions. Despite what skeptics say, ghosts exist; there are several eyewitness accounts, religious traditions, and traditional cultural stories that support the paranormal.
Several eyewitnesses have had experiences with the afterlife that can be proven to be real. Zak Bagans, the famous ghost hunter professional from Ghost Adventures, thinks that the paranormal is real. As Bagans remarks,“I never

The book, What’s So Super About the Supernatural tells of well known stories about poltergeists. A poltergeist is a noisy or high energy ghost who might perform violent activity. A young girl by the name of Tina Resch lived in Ohio and is known to be a poltergeist. “No ghost was ever seen or heard on camera; however when the camera was inadvertently left running, the tape showed Tina surreptitiously pulling over a lamp” (Gardner). The evidence was found after people were reporting the activity. Newspaper reporters went to the scene to check out the action only to find evidence of Tina throwing objects violently around the house. Another example of proof that ghosts exist goes back to a case involving a poltergeist in England. An eleven-year-old boy by the name of Matthew Manning performed several violent actions that his dad had noticed and reported. Gardner writes, “ On one occasion, Matthew’s bed was thrown about and left leaning at an angle against the wall” (Gardner). These examples are not the only reported cases regarding ghosts and paranormal activity. Many stories about the supernatural have been told and passed down for several generations. Spirits are even mentioned in well known religious books that have been passed down for hundreds of

There are many theories as to how someone or something becomes a ghost. This is called Paranormal which means beyond normal and scientific name is parapsychology, which means study of interactions between living organisms and their external environment that seem to transcend the known physical laws of nature (Britannica, 147). In 1920, Dr. William McDougall was the first scientific psychical who research about Paranormal Activity (Stefanik, 2000). According to Stefanik, Paranormal experiences often seem weird, uncanny, or unnatural. Typically they are quite rare but there are a few exceptional "stars" such as who have regular paranormal experiences and may show seemingly consistent paranormal ability (Daniel, 2004). Different types of scientists who researched about paranormal activity was spiritualists. The scientists accepted paranormal to be real. There are believers and nonbelievers about the paranormal phenomenon. Discussion about parapsychological phenomena has assumed emotional overtones, unsuitable to scientific discipline, and outspoken but contradictory opinions are still voiced (Cauz, 2010, p.147)
The paranormal has been a fascination of mine every since I was a little girl and believed that a witch lived in my closet. The room was very cold and I always had nightmares in there, and it was much colder than the rest of the house. Ever since then I had been interested in finding out if hauntings and ghosts do occur.
When my friend first prompted me to watch the show Supernatural, I assumed that it was just going to be another mind-numbing television show. I could not have been more wrong. I had no idea that beneath the action and plots were the shadows of various philosophies. The pilot episode opens up with a young man named Sam Winchester studying at Stanford University. He seems to be no more than a law student with a girlfriend, but everything changes when Sam’s older brother, Dean, comes asking for Sam’s help. Dean and Sam spent their entire childhood with their father, traveling around the country hunting monsters. When Sam and his father disagreed about Sam’s future, Sam left Dean and their father and went to Stanford. After several years without contact, Dean appears at Sam’s door telling Sam that their father went on a “hunting trip” and has not been heard from in several days. Sam senses the urgency in Dean’s voice and considers coming to his brother’s aid. After the death of his girlfriend Jessica, Sam leaves the comfort of a normal life at Stanford forever and embarks upon a modern day odyssey with Dean. Throughout the show’s nine seasons, Sam and Dean pay attention to demonic signs and mysterious deaths, traveling to hundreds of towns and cities to save the lives of innocent, oblivious people. Hidden in what seems like another mainstream television show are many philosophical teachings expressed through the plot and dialogue several of the show’s episodes. In the show Supernatural, many of the philosophical teachings of Freud, the Rule Utilitarians, and the Stoics are present within the storyline.
According to Collins the definition of paranormal is, “of or pertaining to the claimed occurrence of an event or perception without scientific explanation” (2014). Paranormal is contradictory in many ways even in its meaning. The prefix “para” is Greek meaning against and in Latin it means for (Harper, 2001). The study of these strange occurrences of the paranormal is parapsychology. Parapsychologists base their studies on cognitive and physical phenomena called extrasensory perception, ability to know what others are thinking, and psychokinesis, the ability to move objects. Before modern science came into the picture the belief in nonmaterial agencies like ghosts, sorcerers, and demons took the place of science (Abdullah, 2014). The paranormal is the foundation of a lot of religions, for example, Jesus performing miracles (Jones, 2012).

Many people believe that mystical or other worldly creatures aren’t real or they think that they are all make believe. Ghosts on the other hand, could just be as real as animals are to humans. At the same time, people don’t believe in them unless there is proof from either science or from people who have investigated hauntings to see if ghosts are real. Ghosts and other entities are real and not make believe.
Ghosts, as with any other misunderstood group or people, have been preyed upon by others without understanding. The lack of knowledge about ghosts and haunting activity has led people astray as to what they really are. What Hollywood and television portrays is very inaccurate and cannot be relied upon as truthful. They show these spirits of the dead as being evil in nature, filled with malice and harmful intent. But that this is not the case. The field of paranormal activity is amazing. It has caught the imagination of people from every walk of life. It has always interested me and has influenced me to pick this as the topic for my research. Through this research I wish to uncover the truth about the existence of ghosts. I also wish to correct the wrong notions that people have about ghosts and enlighten non-believers.
Ghosts believe that they are still living and that they go about with their lives as nothing has happened to them and while others cannot move on to the afterlife because they need to finish something before they can go. Now, Benjamin Radford, the argument is overall strong. Most people believe that ghosts do exist and others believe that ghosts do not exist and the ones who do not believe in ghosts feel that there is no hard evidence showing that these apparitions exist. Many of his analogies seem reasonable on how ghosts cannot exist and that science does not believe that ghosts exist among us.
Are ghost and other spirits real? There is a great deal of debate on the answer to this question. Some people do believe that they exsist and others do not. Ghost and other spirits do exist, and I am here to prove it. Science strongly states that ghost are not real. People with paranormal expeirences including myself do not agree with science and other people who do not belive they are real.
The role of the supernatural is an integral component of the human experience. In our fast-paced, chaotic world, many of us, regardless of our faith, seek to find refuge in a transcendental existence apart from that of our own. A large proportion of our society view this immaterial otherworld as a bastion of peace and tranquillity, either headed by supreme beings or lacking thereof. This supernatural space of security has long been questioned by both believers and non-believers alike, but yet continues to retain its innate role in the human experience.
Several scientists studied multiple paranormal creatures for hundreds of years. Out of the countless paranormal creatures there has always been one that sticks out the most. There has been plenty movies along with books about this strange spirit, these creatures are known as poltergeists. Just the word poltergeist has a strange signification to it, they have been around longer than any living individual, likewise , they are also known for doing multiple things to people.
Yes, I do believe in paranormal activities such as Ouija board, ghost hunting, exorcism, etc.
This essay explores the research question “In what ways does the use of supernatural elements in literature serve to reflect the nature of humanity?” and focuses on fairy tales, Hamlet, and Macbeth. It begins by outlining and examining the role of supernatural elements in promoting struggles between both the characters and groups within the plot. It then proceeds to showcase how using these elements to create struggles within the plot helps the author to outline the societal struggles of his or her time period within the work of literature. This essay then goes on to consider how and why the use of supernatural elements plays a role in a literary work’s adaptability over time and region. From there, this essay explores how important supernatural elements are in making the stories that they are a part of more intricate and interesting. The role of supernatural elements in aiding character development and the role of certain characters within the plot is examined afterwards.
Experiments are one to find out whether man has a soul, which leaves him when he dies. People are said to have confronted ghosts and apparitions. But it remains to be proved that ghosts do exist and possess the power, they are supposed to have. In some cases, there are scientific reasons behind superstitions. In South India, people apply sandalwood paste on their foreheads. There is because Sandalwood keeps the forehead cool.
