In “What Happens When Women Fight Back”, Joan Walsh argues that women are the best hope to save the country after Donald Trump’s inauguration. Walsh celebrates the fact that “the woman-powered resistance is more vital, brilliant, and powerful than she has ever dreamed” and, that they are in a constant fight with the now current president, Donald Trump. Throughout the article, Walsh attacks Trump and his actions while in office. Walsh seems to target Trump in many instances throughout her article, but her main point is that the resistance movement led by women is growing each and every day. These women have on goal in mind, gender equality. Walsh seems to hint that Trump is an obstacle they have to overcome to achieve their goal. Walsh makes it clear that she is a firm believer in the women’s movement, and that these women are the best hope to save the country from Donald Trump, and his unjust policies.
Walsh begins by declaring that she is not sure about which side will prevail in the fight between Donald Trump, and the women. Walsh then quickly reverts to explain all the unjust acts Donald Trump has been a part of. In Walsh’s view, “it is intellectually impossible to take in everything awful that Donald Trump has done”. Time and time again, Donald Trump has done, and said some things that are unacceptable. The only thing that I oppose is how harshly she criticizes Trump. She stated in the article that “a supremely talented woman was robbed by one of the worst men in the world” during the presidency. I am not a big fan of Trump, but I believe this is too harsh even for him. The issue with Trump is that he says whatever is on his mind no matter the consequence. To say that he is one of the “worst men in the world” is not fair. Even saying that Trump robbed Clinton of the presidency is not just. Trump earned his presidency, and was not handed
