The Cloward-Piven strategy basic ideas is to bring various different crisis’ to the welfare system, in hopes that the crisis’s will put too much strain on the system itself and force it to collapse. Once this happens, the welfare system can be rebuilt, to help those who are really in need. There is a large difference between what people can get when they are on welfare versus what they actually get. To help advocates and workers, handbooks should be made that explain and describe the welfare rights and systems. As the movement and crisis continues, media should also be used to inform the community about the unfairness found in the welfare system. The public needs to advocate for a simpler system so that the poor may receive the help they need.
