The architectural monument I am writing on is “Palace of Fatehpur Sikri”, it is in India. It is an ancient monument built by Mughal Emperors. The building mode is the elemental building. There are many different components in this palace. The parti of the palace is “O”. The palace was well planned on the Persian principles. It is composition of many images, it is a palace, tomb, stable, cabin, fort, columns, stairs, towers and arch. This palace is located in the border of a city called Agra district, which falls in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. It was constructed mostly on 1571 to 1575. The architects of the palace are Tuhir Das and Dhruv Chawla. The palace is made up of sandstone and red stone, tis is how this place is so strong. The …show more content…
The palace itself covers an approximately area of 250 square meters. Yes, the place has advanced architecture because as a visitors enter the place, they need to go through a huge 40 meter entrance with heavy doors which leads them to the a huge courtyard with a 2 meter high pavilion on the left hand side. The arrangement of a central column is approached by four bridges is repeated in a less formal setting in the courtyard known as the Anup Talao where there is a square pool with a central island approached by bridges from each of the four sides, then they can see the mosque and the king’s palace. The place still has a vibe of high security as at the corners of the place and surrounding boundaries have pillars on which the guards can stand and protect the empire from the rivals during the Mughal rule, the pillars in the palace has many different sculptural arts like snake brackets and many more. The sculpture is mostly similar to other Mughal imperial palaces. The place has two tombs, one of Salim Chishti a sufi saint at the entrance to the south, the other tomb is made up of red stone and is of Islam Khan who was the grandson of Salim
A memorable monument is a historical structure that represents a significant person or event. They are designed to show the importance of either the person or event. Monuments are intended to last forever so the subject will never be forgotten to society. The factors that should be considered when creating a memorable monument are that the subject must be powerful and meaningful to society and the design should resemble the significance of the subject. These factors help communicate the magnitude of the individual or group’s sacrifice, as well as honor moments of great achievement in history.
I chose the architecture of the Taj Mahal. The balance given in this art-piece is symmetrical balance. The balance gives the painting a nice and neat feeling, as if it had the attention and time of 100 artisans working on its beauty.
Bihzad has placed strong emphasis on the complexity of the palace’s architecture which he has adorned with colorful ornaments and emblazoned with gold. Each room is decorated with rugs and tiles featuring complex floral and asymmetrical patterns that cover each chamber from floor to ceiling. The palace appears to be three stories tall and features a balcony on the left and a zigzagging staircase on the right. The asymmetrical style of these two architectural features gives the impression of the work being 3-dimensional ...
Constructed in the 7th Century, home to a government, a religious pilgrimage site, the residence of the Dalai Lama, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and located at twelve thousand feet above sea level, Potala Palace is an amazing architectural feat and the most important building in Tibet. The palace is admired as the symbol of Tibet as well as an illustration for the religious struggle for purification. Influences, both ancient and unexpected, relate this sacred symbol in stone to the rest of the world, both new and ancient, with a classic architectural language, which is paramount to any social or political society.
The actual building itself appears similar to a castle. The architecture had royal features due to the triangular points on the top of the building. There were three open doors; one big main entrance in front, two small side doors, and all the guests entered through the main entrance. Once I walked in, a big gold Buddha was centered in the back surrounding multiple iconic religious statues. There seemed to be about a hundred religious statues highly dazzled in silver or good.
The main elements of a building are: Region, the space they inhibit; Platform, the space where they built; Compartation, how they cut the space, plan the structure; the walling, the roof and the apertures which are the opening and windows. Some consider that ornament is something additional to a entirely useful entity to make it more outstanding. Others suppose that ornament is intrinsic to an object and the only way to observe the attractiveness of that thing is to apprehend its adornment.
The architecture in the movie is Persian inspired. The name of Jafar, his name strongly implies a significant Shi'a (follower of Ali) in the time. Agrabah is a surrounded desert and is close to mountains filled with snow that Jafar sends Aladdin. The clothes and the objects of the movie were
Unfortunately, only a sizable fragment remains of the palace, and the original extent of the scores of rooms that have been recovered is unknown. Much can be extrapolated from these remaining bits of the structure, though, and like a puzzle, archeologist and architects have been able to piece together the scraps and come to fairly detailed conclusions.
The Taj Mahal, which translates to “Crown Palace” is a very significant monument and regarded as one of the best in the world. It is actually a mausoleum where both the bodies of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal are found. It was built from 1631 till 1648 AD in Agra, India (History of Taj Mahal). Architects from all around the world were ordered to come to India and build this Taj Mahal by the order of the Mughal, Shah Jahan (History of Taj Mahal). He built this to honor his wife after her death while she was giving birth to their child (History of Taj Mahal). Her last words for Shah Jahan was to build a tomb in her memory that the world has never seen before, and so he did what she asked for (History of Taj Mahal). Later on, the grave of Shah Jahan was added to the Taj Mahal.
The building is also known for two main spaces: the Lord’s Chamber and the Common’s Chamber. It is well identified by its main façade, which runs parallel to the River Thames. The Palace, as it stands today, has been conserved very well to best display the designs as Charles Barry and Pugin intended them to be displayed. The Palace was, and remains, the center for political life in the United Kingdom, just as it remains a major iconic landmark of London. Many articles and books have been written discussing and disputing the history and design of the New Palace of Westminster, as well as the involvement of the Charles Barry and A.W.N....
I think a gigantic funerary mosque of white marble, built in Agra by order of the Mogul emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife, the Taj Mahal is the most perfect jewel of Moslem art in India and is one of the universally admired architectures of the world’s heritage. Not only see the beautiful Taj Mahal from the video, I also knew the history of itself and its country. A white marble tomb sums up many of the formal themes that have played through Islamic architecture. The video did talk a lot of how much Shah Jahan himself and his father loved art and made many gorgeous artworks. Taj Mahal’s refined style is a conspicuous contrast to the Hindu architecture of pre-Islamic India, with its thick walls, arches, and heavy supports. Even though Taj Mahal is the symbol of grief and sadness, it still has it beauty looks from marble and sand stone.
The travel website, Taj Mahal, illustrates the origins of this monument. It was constructed to serve as a memorial and tomb for Mumtaz Mahal, the deceased wife of the emperor Shah Jahan (Taj Mahal, 2008). Before her death, while birthing Shah Jahan’s fourteenth child, she requested Jahan build a monument to honor her as stated by the Taj Mahal website (Taj Mahal, 2008). In 1631, construction began, and was finally completed twenty-two years later (Taj Mahal, 2008). Twenty-two thousand workers labored in constructing the monument bringing materials by elephant from many parts of Asia (Taj Mahal, 2008). The web site Islamic Architecture lists the Iranian architect Ustad Ahmed Lahwari as the key designer of the structure; however other architects played prominent roles in the monument’s design (Organization, 1995-2003).Over time, the esti...
Buckingham Palace is best known as a residence of the British monarchs located in the City of Westminster. Today, the palace is the administrative headquarters of the Monarchs. It was originally built for the Duke of Buckingham in the early 18th century and has been in a private ownership for at least 150 years. However, during the 19th century, the Palace was enlarged by two British architects, John Nash and Edward Blore. Only few additions to the Palace were made in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including the East front, which contains the balcony on which the royal family traditionally greets the crowd.
Abstract: New forms in current world have been testimony to the contemporary style of postmodern architecture and are the strength of today’s generation for creating significant architectural standards. Post modernism has blurred the borders between contemporary and traditional construction classical concepts and simply in the field of art and literature. The architectural elements like domes, arches, and classical shapes have lost their identity but the post modernism tries to bridge between these historical forms and contemporary styles. The related architects not only struggled to achieve the image for the buildings but also rejected oversimplified diagrams for living. The post modernism here tries to achieve theoretical base for their designs that creates the excitement in the design program.
Taj Mahal. ( Mahal is the word in urdu language used for Palace) How can I describe The Taj Mahal? You can’t its impossible. You just have to experience it. To gaze in wonder at that magnificent dome and elegant gardens will be a moment that you remember for the rest of your life. It is one of the greatest sights in the world, some say the greatest, and like Victoria Falls, The Grand Canyon, and Macchu Picchu, it simply is one of those things you have to see in your life. The architectural grace and symmetry of the Taj Mahal just takes your breath away. We had chosen our visit carefully--the sun was setting and the light that washed over the Taj was golden in color. The minarets were now stark against the setting sun . The actual dome was a surprise, it is not yellow-white but blue-white and covered in inscriptions and detail. From below it looked like something out of "Arabian Nights." But inside were the tombs of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan. The central tomb is a lofty chamber with light streaming through fine latticework, and hanging above was an elaborate lamp. Words cannot describe its beauty when you stand on that marble platform overlooking the Yamuna, with the setting sun turning it into a golden ribbon. You may a...
