Five Points of Calvin
Five point Calvinism has dated back of the time of John Calvin. John Calvin was born in France on July 10, 1509. In result of studying the Greek New Testament, Calvin was not satisfied with the Catholic Church, and left.( ) Calvin was influenced by his own teachings that he then wrote the doctrinal system on Calvinism. Calvin did not stay with any particular denomination, but the closest domination to his beliefs is Presbyterian. Calvin wrote his five points in rebut to Arminius points. Calvin's points are known as an acronym-TULIP. T is Total Depravity, U is Unconditional Election, L is for Limited Atonement, I is Irresistible Grace, and P is for Perseverance of the Saints.(Berkhof 65 )
