The Problem statement and business opportunity Nowadays boat instruments are mainly analog, the information is very dispersed among the navigation panel making it hard for users to pay attention to all the indicators and requiring a lot of practice to fully control the boat. The reason behind this old fashion display instruments is because the boat industry is roundly with a 5 years delay comparing with the automotive industry. Bosch Car Multimedia Portugal has a unique opportunity to develop these systems for boats since it has already proved that it is capable and successful building them to the automotive. Furthermore Bosch could even improve the actual system by integrate all the information coming from the sensors and turn it into useful navigation support. Alongside with this lack of integration we can see that the market trends are moving that way with recent release of new technologies like 3D charting, AIS support, embedded charts, multi-function and networking.
