Ready Player One futuristic science fiction novel about a dystopian society that functions within a worldwide web video game called OASIS with little to no social interaction besides for through the internet. The book 's purpose is to support the argument that if technology continues to advance at an increasing rate, humans will become antisocial and depend on technology for daily life interaction. The advancement and use of social media can be very beneficial to society such as finding a roommate for college. Using multiple social media sites, but if social media is overused, it can become dangerous by creating issues like cyberbullying and depression. This can lead to a world that is antisocial and technology dependent like in Ready Player One. I believe that a healthy medium between the two is needed so that one is familiar with technology, but is not consumed.
