For this reason is because In the book He can be calm talking to Grover one minute and get angry the next tailing to Nancy Bobofit. Plus, Percy gets mad at Nancy Bobofit for bullying Grover and him. He always lets his curiosity get the best of him even when he hears people talk to him.
