Percy wants to stay and help fight with his father, but Poseidon sends Percy back to Camp Half-Blood to hear the Great Prophecy. Once there, Percy informs the camp of a "spy". Percy discovers that the Olympians are busy fighting Typhon. That night, Percy leaves with Nico, son of the mighty underworld god, Hades, they plot how to defeat Kronos. He then dives into the underworld to bathe in the River Styx and take on the curse of Achilles. Nico sells Percy out. Percy rises from the Underworld in New York City, leaving Nico behind to convince his father to join the fight against Kronos. Percy also calls the campers to help defend Olympus. The gods won't budge. They refuse to end their conflict with Typhon. Just before the battle begins, New York City is hit by a powerful sleeping spell from Morpheus, Hecate, and Kronos. Camp Half-Blood loses 16 campers in the fight. Eventually, the campers successfully defeat Hyperion. Percy also defeats Tryphon, with the help of Nico, Hades, Luke, Annabeth,

Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief is about a young boy (around the age of twelve) who finds out that he is the son of the greek god Poseidon. Percy (short for Perseus) faces troubling situations that the reader can relate to and gain a deeper connection to the book. “How old was I?” I asked. “I mean. . .
...e realized he is from a Roman camp. Somewhere he thinks in San Francisco California called camp Jupiter he also knows where his strange markings on his arm came from; all the campers at camp Jupiter had their godly parent’s symbol tattooed on his forearm alone with dashes that counted how many years you where part of the camp for. Hera has switched the leaders of the camps who are Percy and Jason. Jason thanks Percy is at the roman camp, camp Jupiter. He just like Jason who doesn't remember anything about his past was thrown into a place where he does not belong. Hera switched them so the camps can learn to work together to find Geae and her evil minions the Giants and destroy them. They will build a giant flying boat that will carry a few campers from camp half blood to camp Jupiter, who will unite to seven heroes that are part of the great prophecy to defeat Geae.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The lighting Thief by Rick Rioban is a thrilling fiction story about a half-blood boy named Percy Jackson. His story starts off by telling the reader how Percy was supposedly a bad students and got kicked out of every school he went to. At the time Percy was going to an academy where he met Grover, Chrion his Latin teacher at the time, and evil Mrs. Dodds. It turns out that Mrs. Dodds was actually a Furi which, came from the underworld and she was hunting Percy down. Percy did not understand what was going on and went on with his life when of course he got kicked out of academy.
Most demi-gods have tons of things in common, and Percy and Hercules are no different. Percy and Hercules are extremely powerful, due to the fact that they are the sons of two of the Big Three. The Big Three are the three most powerful Gods in all of Olympus. Percy is the son of Poseidon and Hercules is the son of Zeus. They both had weaknesses for the people that they cared about. Percy went to the ends of the earth
“Go on with what your heart tells you, or you will lose all”. This quote, spoken by Percy is a repetitive thought that he uses in his quest to persevere to the end. From movies, to stories, to plays, the hero undergoes a journey, that is universal in nearly all. This journey is referred to as the Hero’s Journey and consists of three stages with other elements within each stage, and was recognized by Joseph Campbell. The pattern of the journeys allows a universal audience that all, young and old, can relate to. A broad description of the monomyth includes the hero leaving their ordinary life, commencing the bulk of the journey, and returning home. In the movie The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan, the protagonist Percy Jackson presents discernible
Within this novel, the main character, Percy Jackson, is depicted to fit the universal archetype of a hero on a quest. Furthermore, Poseidon, Percy's father, shows the archetype of Magi with the guidance he provides Percy without him ever meeting him. On his quest to retrieve Zeus’ lightning bolt, the character of Luke also serves as a Hermes archetype and one of joker. He shows up right when the hero is about to make a breakthrough. Clearly, the characters demonstrate an archetypal prevalence that serves to develop the novel in the mythological type. With relation to modern life, Percy Jackson serves as an archetypal character that symbolizes goodness. He is a typical quiet young teenager with the additional issues of dyslexia and ADHD. He is an only child who lives in New York with his mother and step father. As the plot unravels, we learn that Percy, in his goodness, would do anything to protect his mother from

“Suspense combines curiosity with fear and pulls them up a rising slope.” - Mason Cooley. These emotions that suspense creates are intended to keep viewers interested and entertained while watching, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief”, directed by, Chris Columbus. “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief” was filled with suspense. The three major elements the director used to generate suspense were conflict, sympathetic attachment to the protagonist and foreshadowing.
During a chariot race, the campers are attacked by Stymphalian Birds, Tantalus, who was replacing Chiron at the time, sends Clarisse La Rue on a quest to go find the fleece. Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson run away from camp to go and find the fleece themselves. Hermes, the god of jacks, thieves, messages, etc., gives them gifts to help them on their quest. Percy asks his dad, Poseidon, to help them get to a cruise ship on the horizon. Three Hippocampi appear from the water and carries the three of them to the cruise ship named the Princess Andromeda. Once aboard the ship, they discover that the ship seems to be deserted, but find fully stocked cabins to sleep in. In the morning they wake up to find the ship full of tourists, but all of the tourists seem kind of off, as if they were in some sort of a trance. Then they discover that the ship is infested with monsters as well. The three are captured by Luke Castellan, who is the owner of the ship. Percy and his friends discover that Luke is transporting the ship with monsters and the remains of the Titan Kronos in a golden sarcophagus. Luke was going to also find the fleece and bring back Kronos to
Percy Jackson is a true hero. Imagine if you had the chance to save your mother, but put your own life at risk. When Percy was given this chance, he never even thought about his own life. When he saved the world, he didn't care if he put his own life in immense trouble. When he met his half brother, he stood up for him, not caring if no one liked him after. It is clear that there is no way that Percy Jackson can be thought of anything but a hero, which is what he truly
Percy Jackson is the main character in this story, who is a demi god, who mortals are after. His name is short for Perseus and his father is one of the big three gods, Poseidon. He is suffering from dyslexia and ADHD, which could be deliberately added to the character by Riordan, to show he is meant to be a hero, and not to do well in school. This shows that school is not what he is good at, and he is destined to be a hero and save people. The character Grover, who plays Percy’s best friend, parallels a Satyr who is human from the waist up and goat from the waist down and is a companion of wine God, Dionysus, who we later learn, is the camp director for Half-Blood Camp.
Percy is a natural leader, who is valiant, vibrant and will do anything for the people he loves and cares about. He is the son of poseidon who has a sense of human that is sardonic but also smart. Percy’s whole demeanor is laid-back. Even though he is perspicacious he can also be absent or feebleminded. He has the respect of the Olympians including those who dislike men, heroes and humans like Hades Artemis, and Dionysus. Due to the Fact that Perseus is a demigod he is irascible and tends to act on impulse, which usually ends with enormous consequences at times. He doesn’t like being...
The fact that Percy Jackson has friends is incredible. It is an unshakable fact that any friend of his within a ten-mile radius will be in a life or death situation with him by dinner, and they are not always as lucky as he is. However, that is getting ahead of ourselves. Over the course of the five-part contemporary young adult series, Percy Jackson & The Olympians, the titular character, Percy Jackson, must embrace his Greek God parentage and save Olympus with the help of his fellow demigods. The aim of this paper is to discuss his Hero’s Journey throughout the series, provide an in-depth character analysis, and draw parallels between Percy and the three classic Greek heroes of mythology: Perseus, Theseus, and Hercules.
In the second installment of The Heroes of Olympus, The Son of Neptune is a thrilling adventure written by Rick Riordan. The book begins where The Lost Hero left off. Percy, also in Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, is wandering Southern California with no memory of where he came from or who he is except one name, Annabeth. Being chased by three gorgons, Percy stumbles upon, with the help of Hera/Juno, Camp Jupiter. In the Roman camp, Percy joins the 5th cohort, which are the misfits of the camp, and befriends Hazel the daughter of Pluto and Frank the son of Mars, who are the biggest misfits of all. Percy and his newfound friends are soon called on a quest. Their mission is to recover the missing standard of the entire legion. They board the Pax, a small rowboat which makes up the entire Roman navy, and embark on their journey.
