The level of the Oral Communication competence of the Senior High School learners based on the observations by the researchers is that they tend to be more confident communicating in the Filipino language, rather than using English language to express their thoughts.
Students’ shows low competence in using English language as reflected on the way how they recite or report inside their class and also in extemporaneous speaking. Knowing the fact that Senior High School learners have Oral Communication subjects in both English and Filipino, the trend on their poor oral communication skills is worthy of investigation.
