Children are raised under different circumstances around the world. When you think of a traditional family, most would think of a mother and father taking care of one or two children in a safe neighborhood where everyone is happy. But, for most young people, that is not the case. Not everyone has the same experiences and go through the same challenges in life that causes them to turn out how they present themselves. Teenagers choose to make bad decisions based on outside factors in which they cannot control; therefore, minors should not be tried as adults in a court of law because they are still in their developing stages.
Minors of the modern age can range from being polite to disrespectful. The outside factors of a child 's life can determine

Children are bound to make faults, whether it be a very minor mistake or massive complication, there is always the learning and reflection portion of any given situation. Learn, earn, and return is a statement that reflects the different stages in life and it is clear to understand the “learning” part relates to young adolescents learning new information and being exposed to the difficulties that could rise in any given moment. It enhances a child’s ability to take the courage they need in order to prosper in their everyday lives. Jacob encounters his confrontation on his standpoint on courage and how manages to learn and stick up to the expectations his grandfather enhanced upon him. In order to capture and embrace all the doubts, Jacob experiences throughout the novel, he has to think of all the “horrors Grandpa Portman had faced in his life, and felt [his] resolve harden” (Riggs 102) in order to fully accomplish the actions needed to solve many of the issues and questions within himself and the past history of his grandfather. This becomes a prime example as to why children need to experience the challenges life throws at them and while minors are being sent to prison, being held in the cells would interfere with a child’s development, not only socially but emotionally and

Jacob Portman has this quest to find the home where his grandfather grew up. The home for orphans was or is run by someone named Miss Peregrine, and all the children who’s stay in the orphanage are peculiar. Now if we use “math” in this, we get Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.
According to the article of “Should Juveniles Be Tried as Adults?” at Buzzle.com, “It is a proven fact that when a child is at the age around nine or ten that they do not have the mental accessibility to think as an adult” (Borkar). Citizens see this statistic as a reason as to why children should not be tried as adults. “Children are five times more likely to be sexually assaulted in adult prisons than in juvenile facilities” (Equal Justice Initiative). These juveniles are subject to much harsher punishments which includes life sentencing (Michon). These people do not feel that these children should be in a prison for the rest of their life for something they did when they were 13. Broken families can be a reason for a child to rebel and become trouble. “Psychology speaking, it is said that there are no ‘problem children’ but only ‘problem parents’” (Borkar). Parents roles are to guide their kids in the right way. Children will not know what is right or wrong if parents do n...
Oscar Wilde once said, “Everything in the world is about sex except sex. Sex is about power.” The content of this quote embodies A Doll’s House and The Glass Menagerie because of the sexual control in both the plays. A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen and The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee William, the characters, although from different time periods, face the hardships of sexual control through the men they admire. Nora is written as the naive protagonist of A Doll’s House, who embodies the themes of the novella as she matures throughout the play. Nora learns that her husband, Torvald, uses her as a doll for his own pleasure and does not truly care for her. In The Glass Menagerie, Laura, the main character, is also
Adolescents might be correct; Adults truly can 't comprehend them. This demonstrates a battle between the adolescent and the grown-ups that perhaps is ceaseless. Grown-ups make presumptions about children, in light of the way they dress, which pushes kids further and assist away. In the article, "Adolescent Crime Risk Factors" by Mantis Technologies (2016), the creator underlines the convictions that grown-ups started the possibility of youth distance from more established social orders and the youngsters keep it that way. Hyunzee Jung (2016) exposition, " Effects of Physical and Emotional Child Abuse and Its Chronicity on Crime into Adulthood," talks about four young people who were taunted and mishandled by grown-ups and correspondents alike.
The author Jeannette Walls writes about her childhood experiences. One day, as she is playing with matches and fire, she takes her favorite toy, Tinkerbell and puts the match near her face. Before this, Walls mentions that, “I lit a match and held it close to Tinkerbell’s face to show her how it felt.” Here, she is referencing the time she accidently caught herself on fire and was severely burned. I think that Walls is trying to compare Tinkerbell to herself. “Even though her face was melted, she was still my favorite toy.” I think that Walls is trying to show more about her character that she cares about the type of person she is and the type of person others are. She also later mentions while leaving Tinkerbell behind, “I hoped whoever found
There has always been controversies as to whether juvenile criminals should be tried as adults or not. Over the years more and more teenagers have been involved in committing crimes. In some cases the juries have been too rough on the teens. Trying teens as adults can have a both positive and negative views. For example, teens that are detained can provide information about other crimes, can have an impact in social conditions, and serve as experience; however, it can be negative because teens are still not mature enough for that experience, they are exposed to adult criminals; and they will lose out on getting an education.
“Morals are inherent from birth” (Wilde). Children, like adults, should know wrong from right. A child’s upbringing does impact them a little, but it’s in their nature to know right from wrong. One may say that a child is going to become hardened after they get out of jail, but it’s also the same for adults. Kids should be treated as adults since they can commit the same crimes as adults. “The juvenile court was created to handle juvenile offenders on the basis of their youth rather than their crimes” (cliffs notes). This is unfair because they base their decisions on how old the child is. What do they think this is, school? In school, they basically teach children based on their age, not on how much they know already. The court system shouldn’t be like school.
The unlikely pair of “The Glass Menagerie” by Tennessee Williams and “A Doll House” by Henrik Ibsen do share multiple similarities in their domestic situations and in the things they chose to do. . When comparing these two plays you also have to keep in mind about how that both the plays were done in different time periods. Therefore things are going to be different when it comes to the roles of the women. With the “The Glass Menagerie” and “A Doll House” all the characters have flaws, lived in different time period, felt like they were trapped in ways, and reacted to things differently.
middle of paper ... ... Juveniles may not even mean to act this way, they just do. It may even be something that they are necessarily aware of.
Juveniles deserve to be tried the same as adults when they commit certain crimes. The justice systems of America are becoming completely unjust and easy to break through. Juvenile courts haven’t always been known to the everyday person.
once the minor has committed a violent crime, they are no longer a kid. The minor had the ability to know right from wrong, but he still chose to commit the heinous crime anyway. Choosing to commit this violent crime means that the minor chose to act as an adult and must be held accountable. Once the minor has made the decision to act as an adult, they must be treated as an adult. If we do not teach minors that what they did has consequences they will never learn. Arguments can be made that minors should not be treated as adults and while these arguments do have merit, they are not my beliefs. In my opinion, minors who commit violent crimes need to be tried as adults. Justice does not discriminate when it comes to age. Right is right, and wrong is wrong and the wrong should be punished equally.
Today?s court system is left with many difficult decisions. One of the most controversial being whether to try juveniles as adults or not. With the number of children in adult prisons and jails rising rapidly, questions are being asked as to why children have been committing such heinous crimes and how will they be stopped. The fact of the matter is that it is not always the children's fault for their poor choices and actions; they are merely a victim of their environment or their parents. Another question asked is how young is too young. Children who are too young to see an R rated film unaccompanied are being sent to adult prisons. The only boundaries that seem to matter when it comes to being an adult are laws that restrain kids from things such as alcohol, pornography, and other materials seen as unethical. Children that are sent to adult prison are going to be subjected to even more unprincipled ideas and scenes. When children can be sent to jail for something as minor as a smash and grab burglary, the judicial system has errors. The laws that send juveniles to adult prisons are inhumane, immoral, and unjust. Kids are often incompetent, which leads to unfair trials. Adult prisons are also very dangerous for minors, and in many cases this leads to more juvenile crimes.
The United States has been affected by a number of crimes committed by juveniles. The juvenile crime rate has been increasing in recent years. Everyday more juveniles commit crimes for various reasons. They act as adults when they are not officially adults. There is a discussion about how juveniles should be punished if they commit heinous crimes. While many argue that juveniles who commit serious crimes, such as murder, should be treated as adults, the fact is, juveniles under the age of eighteen, are not adults, and should not be treated as such.
