College is a great experience that students should be able to enjoy. There are expensive classes and along with school materials, college should be provided to all. It is insane how our best interests and our future is being held back upon us because of young people not being able to afford college and others that are in debt that burdens them for decades. I believe there are many students who are interested in college after high school that want to continue their education without having to be in debt during or after college.
Some students who are interested in college think that college is pricy and that can interfere with them receiving an education. In the article "It's Time to Push for Free College", Max Page says, "Many cant go to college because they can't afford it or won't burden their families with the debt." Debt shouldn't affect a person's ability to receive a good education. There should be equal knowledge just like there is for K-12 in order to pursue their career. There are students who receive loans and are in debt because they are willing to pay for an education that can supports them in many

ways. Debt does not only affect a person from enrolling in college but it can also have them in danger of dropping out of college because of financial reasons. If college were free, I believe it would help one keep them stable with other current finances. There are people who are afraid of being in debt sooner or later. Why have people risk their finance over their learning when they are eager to succeed in their future. If college were provided, it would be more of an opportunity to a student by helping those people get a job by earning a degree.
In the article "It's Time to Push for Free College", Max Page states "As several recent studies have underscored, a college degree is a pathway to a more stable life, financially and otherwise." People who go to college mostly go for their degree because it is more worth than a high school diploma because it can get you in an internship or any job you strive for. College is a way to begin a career and there are people who have ambition to study but don't have the ability because of financial issues. People who are interested in college should focus on their education and not having to worry about money needs for school. People who work for their knowledge think critical when wanting to earn a degree and it should be
provided. Not only does college get people get a successful job but can also help one in life. They can set a great example for their children's future for their own college as well. Studies have shown that with both parents earning a college degree a child is most likely to have an outcome on earning one because of its ripple effect. Max Page states, "Most who graduate do so with ten thousands of dollars of debt, shackling them to creditors for decades and limiting their career options." If people were to be financial debt free from college it would be less of a hassle for many because they can continue with a positive impact on what they earned out of college. It can improve their interests in other financial needs instead of having complex issues. People don't deserve to be charged for an education, it should help maintain a stable life. Therefore, college should be free for those who intend to use their knowledge for good and change their futures for the better. It's important for people who want an education to receive it without having to go through financial problems or having to drop out of college. Learning shouldn't have a price on it, it should be provided to those who are interested and willing to strive for their career. Help those make their dreams come true.
people agree with the state that Liz borrows from Thomas Jefferson, "Everybody should have an education proportional to their life,"(Addison 256). Unfortunately, the average income between rich and poor in America is not accurate, everyone supposed to become somebody in life; college gives opportunity to everyone who wants to do so, to become whatever they want, and at any age with a low cost. as much as the income level between rich and poor in America stays unbalanced; college will always be there to gives opportunity to people who want to learn, but cannot afford to attend university. Liz Addison points out an example in the article.
Based on Three Reasons College Still Matters, there are three main reasons why a college education is so important. From an economical standpoint, an education is most of the time needed to earn enough money to live comfortably. Attending and completing college provides a possibility for future economic stability. Within a highly competitive workforce a college degree can put a foot in the door to a job of a person’s choice. Statistics show that people who obtain a bachelor’s degree or higher get paid more than those who do not obtain one. Many question the worth of a college degree because of how expensive it is, though some say that the money spent is an investment on a person’s future. One can say that the worth of a college education is within the eye of the beholder. Many q...
College is the place where people go to retain the necessary training for a job that requires specific skills, which results in earning a higher pay check. In today’s world, employers are scouting out for individuals with the proper dexterities to fill the shoes for that specific job. Blanche D. Blank, the author of “A Question of Degree," argues that possessing a degree of higher education isn’t the only way to have a very successful life. This statement is highly argumentative, due to the fact that college graduates still out-earn people without degrees. Obtaining a college degree is one of the best things someone can do for themselves, when it comes to looking for a stable job. There is also so much more to college than just receiving a
Individuals are struggling nowadays to acquire an education higher than a high school diploma. One of the main reasons for this issue could be very well the price it is to attend college. The prices have skyrocketed throughout the years. A lot of the people who attend college have to take out a “student loan,” just so they can get by. I believe one should not need to be in serious debt before they even graduate, all because they want to go out and further their education, and become successful in their life. College is a popular topic for most and Sanford J. Ungar and Charles Murray has a unique way of explaining both their opinions.
In the Washington Post, the article title, “College is not a commodity. Stop treating it like one.” Everything revolves around money these days and the economy. The economy is justified to be expensive, by the time you are the age of 22 you will be in debt up to 100k dollars to 200k dollars. Regardless of where you go to college or what you go for you will be in debt. The author states that the value of education

Many are expecting college to be expensive. They worry about how much they can afford and having to make payment arrangements. Some go as far as to think only rich people can afford to go to college. There is a thought that you have to have good credit to get a loan that takes forever to pay back. Many are not aware of the programs that are o...
Writing a self-reflective tirade is perhaps one of the most difficult tasks to perform. I have found myself pondering this topic for an unusually long time; no one has ever asked me to write about my culture-- the one thing about myself which I understand the least. This question which is so easy for others to answer often leads me into a series of convoluted explanations, "I was born in the U.S., but lived in Pakistan since I was six. My brothers moved to the US when I was thirteen" I am now nearly twenty, which means I have spent half my life being Pakistani, the other half trying to be American, or is the other way around?
and tuition plays a major role in students’ decision for attending college. Students according to a 2008 national survey of roughly 1800 students who qualified to attend college 1000 students of those 1800 did not attend college at all. The main reason claimed by 80 percent of the “non-college-goers” was due to lack of money, more especially not enough grant aid. Although a student was well qualified to attend college having no financial aid made their choice to attend impossible. On the other hand, students who couldn’t receive enough grant aid sought other alternatives to go into college like getting loans. Depending on the amount of years one chooses to attend college it can rack up to an unbelievable amount. According to Edvisors, a financial aid website, “The class of 2015 graduated with $35,051 in student debt on average.” Imagine that! It’s no wonder that the students who didn’t receive enough grant aid chose not to attend college. It was because they did not want to accumulate a debt that in most cases they would have to pay throughout their lives, claiming that tuition cost is too much for
College is thought of as what every parent wants for their child, so they can go off andmake something of themselves. For the most part, this is true. Those who attend college arebetter off than those who do not, on average, earning far more than their undereducatedcounterparts. College is a worthwhile investment and should be pursued by all who have thechance because it helps students further their knowledge, it is a place to find who you are, and itgives them a different perspective of the world.College is worth the cost because if college was available for everybody and collegedegrees were handed out as commonly and at the same rate as high school diplomas then collegewould not be that special. Therefore, college would just be an extension of high school. Ifanyone could get their hands on a degree, how would you be able to get the job you want? It isbetter for college to cost money because if a student really wants to attend college and furthertheir education, they should have already been willing to pay or to find a way to pay for collegeto get the upper hand on the general
Over the past years of getting a college degree was the pathway to get a settle career. College has been a reason for people to carry on after high school. Now that tuition has been raised, getting a degree seems to drain students with more loans and could be in debt. College has been raised to the point where people rather start working at a minimum wage than continuing with school. Working on a part time job would be an easier choice rather than pursuing towards their degree. As people attend college, fees build up and students loaning money and possibly be in debt. Not only that, some may say college isn’t worth it, but it is. Getting a degree pays off at the end going towards your career path, making twice as much as you would work at a regular job. Students who have received a degree are slowly declining. To make adjustment, College should be free for
There are so many students who would extremely grateful to attend any four year institution but can’t because of the lack of funds. College life can be very stressful, and the process can is very frustrating to most students the first two years. When the cost of college tuition is compared to the 21 century financial economy the cost does not make sense, because for a middle-class family it is impossible to afford sending their child to any four-year institution. It hard for students to graduate with the stress to pay-off hundreds and thousands of dollars in loans. Going to college is stressful enough without the need to worry about how we’re going to pay for it and what other costs will continue to rise with getting a degree afterwards. With the current increase of unemployment rate and the thought of going to college seems like a farfetched goal. Many people choice not to attend a four year institution, because they did receive a scholarship or enough government funding. Having a college background is very important for professional growth, it will eventually limit career opportunities. My stand point is, you may not leave college doing the same thing you began with but the life experience is endless. College experience not only gives knowledge that builds you into a better person by giving a broader erosion. With the cost of tuition increasing will hurt our generation, by causing physical and mental stress but in the end it will all pay off. Not all colleges are for the blame; some of the blame is our economy and other factors play a big roll. As students we need to be aware of all our resources offered, such as Pell Grants, and government scholarships. For example, the some states will pay for a student’s college if they graduate high school with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. There are many states that are willing to pay for all or some of college tuition only if students are willing to use
For those people who have no purpose, college is just a place they waste their money, but for students who have purpose; like to be a doctor, teacher, engineer, and etc. Those students need to attend school to cultivate specific skill for the future. If they can make benefit from learning to their future, it is worth it going to school and being educated. According to McArdle, student loans is an “investment in yourself.” If students investigate for and success in their life, that is great achievement. If a student become a doctor, he or she must have more than enough money to pay back the debt. Also, college is the place to learn or prepare for job. When I asked my friend why he is studying at college, he answered because he wants to be a dentist. He told me that in order to be a dentist, he needs to finish college and university, and after that he has to go to dental school. In this case, he is learning because he needs specific area of skill for his job, so he gets education to get job. In my opinion, college is the place where students progress for what they want to be and at the same time they have to learn whatever they need for themselves to get a job, so they have enough time to prepare for their
College is the key to a well suitable and successful life it opens the door for us to a wide opportunity of careers. It also helps people revolutionize the world with all the educated people inventing and discovering new advanced things. I believe that us Americans, if we want to go to public college it should be totally free for the ones who aren’t financially set to pay it off without going into debt and taking out school loans. The problem is that many of Americans are choosing not to go but instead go straight into the workforce due to the fact that college tuition is very expensive to afford for low-income families and even middle-class ones too. Knowing they have the skills to
