INDUSTRY OVERVIEW With the fast development of business industry and a strong competitor power within the major business sectors, it became harder for companies to succeed. Unless company finds an unusual and extraordinary way to attract and keep important people, they are more likely to fail. Hence, the more employed people there are in the country, the higher number of potential customers Keith Prowse has. Hospitality, being one of the biggest sectors in the market, shows a positive growth in the last 2 years. Hence, economy has a positive impact on sporting events and corporate hospitality in general. After the recession, people spend more money on leisure and travel, which means that the overall turnover is going to increase in a short term period. With the economy growth and new healthy life-style trend, football hospitality has all chances to develop and reach the point where it makes the most profit. Keith Prowse sell football packages at prices lower than their competitors, so it would definitely attract customers.
Sporting is one of the universal activities that brings people from different backgrounds together and is viewed as an income generating activity that creates revenue for the participants as well as the location where the activities are held. The NCAA Final Four Basketball Tournament is one of the most anticipated sporting events in the US that attracts a high number of fans in the cities where it is held. Before the Final Four is held in given location, it is imperative for the organizers to have a detailed understanding of the venue so that they can introduce marketing strategies that are in line with the demands of the fans (Snipes & Ingram, 2007). The host committee is charged with the responsibility to come introduce an exhilarating experience for the locals and visitors. Owing to the interest generated
My group previously visited the Sheraton Hotel for our first interview with the front desk manager and it went very well. We decided to keep with the same hotel for our next interview, but due to a last-minute cancellation from the housekeeping manager we were not able to complete the interview. Due to this situation, I will be talking about a whole different hotel - G6 Hospitality. The name G6 Hospitality refers to the hotel brands – Motel 6 and Studio 6. I chose to G6 Hospitality because it is a well-known company that I wanted to know about more in-depth. From all my research, I have gained a lot of insight on what G6 Hospitality is all about.

Defined by IEG (2013) as “cash and/or in-kind fee paid to a property in return for access to the exploitable commercial potential associated with that property”. The adoption and increasing adaptation of sponsorship exemplifies one of the most rapidly developing sectors of marketing communications activity. Evidenced by the fact that the total UK investment in this medium was only £4 million as recently as 1970 (Buckley, 1980; p10-14). However by 2015 the scale of expenditure in the worldwide market is estimated at £28.9bn and will become the largest stream of revenue in sport, compared to £28.6bn forecast from gate revenues according to PWC (2013). From the perspective of the consumer, having already been deluged with information sponsorship promotes differentiation amongst competitors and enables organisations’ to break through the immunity that consumers have developed to the innumerable advertising stimuli. (Lagae, 2003; p8). In an unobtrusive fashion, the salient public affiliation between the brand and the sport is thought to alter image perceptions of the brand (Brooks, 1994; pXX). (Milne and McDonald, 1999; p123).
In this essay I will be discussing and critically analysing each element of the PESTLE analysis within the hospitality industry, with examples to reflect each point. Also this essay will discuss how marketers should adapt to changes in the macro-environment. The PESTLE analysis is a marketing principle used to understand the relation between a company and the external environment. Murray-Webster (2010:88) states PESTLE analysis will help to capture understanding about aspects of the context by using the prompt political, economic, sociological, technological, legal and environment.
Bed and Breakfasts were almost nonexistent and operated in a small scale compared to hotel and motels. Over the last three years they have become well known by the general population for their unique and distinct services that they offer to their guests in comparison to other traditional hotel and motel accommodations. The industry has seen an increase in occupancy levels from local residents looking to escape their everyday lives and an increase in vacationers and honeymooners looking to relax and explore new sceneries. • Competitors: Bed and Breakfasts face a lot of competition from other B&Bs and motels and hotels. Other B&Bs try to differentiate themselves within the market by personal service offerings and pampering their guest with different complimentary services.
Technology has created a major impact on the way in which all organizations market their products and services. With the development of the internet, companies are now able to economically market themselves on a global level. Even smaller companies that were once not able to capture international business due to the cost factor can now do just that. The Washington Plaza Hotel is no exception. The hotel industry in DC relies heavily on tourism as a major part of its client base. Many of these tourists who visit the city are of foreign nationality. It is important that the Washington Plaza Hotel targets these people when marketing the company. Not only do they target the tourist but they also target the international business travelers that come to the city on business related trips. The hotel's website, which gives detailed information about the hotel's accommodations and services, can be accessed by potential customers all over the world. In addition, the Washington Plaza Hotel has teamed up with such web-based travel services like Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, Etc. in order to capture more of the global market. Before the existence of the internet, the global market was not easily reachable. Technology has the greatest affect on marketing for many organizations and certainly for the Washington Plaza Hotel as well as the hospitality industry itself.

The proposed research is on the impact of the hosting of the 2012 Olympics in London and its impact specifically on the hospitality industry. Other studies have been done on the impact of the Olympics viz. Olympics Games Impact Study (OIGS) which is a study by Price Water House Coopers in December 2005. It was commissioned by DCMS and the London Development Agency to assess the likely benefits of hosting the Olympics and Paralympics in 2012 in social and economic terms.
As there is difference in service between a 5 star and a 3 star hotel, discuss the accommodation and front office services for these two different hotels.
I love sports and was really excited to hear that the Renaissance has rates with Professional Sports Groups. Gina said that sadly due to the overall lack of meeting space (roughly 4,000 sq. ft) they cannot host the National Football League (NFL) teams who need a large amount of meeting space so that they can hold press conferences. That being said the Renaissance does have contracts with Major League Baseball (MLB) and is working on contracts with the National Hockey League (NHL). Gina said that the Sales Manager for the NHL liked the Renaissance, but she has just been too busy to make another site visit. She says that a big part of her job is trying to get people to come back and visit the hotel. The visit is extremely important because once they are on site, they are usually sold. Another key point that Gina made was that when dealing in the Professional Sports Industry it is all about who you know; without connections it is almost impossible to get into that specific market. I believe that this shadowing experience lines up with the Sales Management: Group Sales, competency. From this experience I learned that
For many years sponsorship and sports marketing have been in existence and has now been greatly improved. Hardly can organizers of major events expect to receive some funds without expecting to give something back in return. A couple of years ago, sponsorship could be regarded has more charitable or charitable, but in recent years, that has changed significantly. In the business world there are two main basics of any successful business, the first one is a market, and the second is a demand or customers in this market. These two things at least will sustain any new business nowadays. Many fundamentals come will later in this manner as the market study, place, products, price, promotions, and lots which they improve any kind of business more for higher points. Some main ways of increasing the brand name of any service or product around the world are advertising, and sponsorship. The two companies I am going to discuss are two leading companies in the market the first is an airlines company Emirates, and the other is Red bull the leading energy drink company. Both companies are into sponsorships, and support a big number of team’s individuals in many sport fields, and they are gaining a lot of marketing successes through this strategy. In this essay I will be focusing on sponsorship, and how it is identified as strategic marketing opportunity through the event sponsored, financial gain of the sponsorship or loses, gaps in marketing research between in companies in choosing the right time, place, and who to sponsor in a relation to the profitability later on, also the evaluation of the traditional and digital media for the event sponsored, and the evaluation of the fit between the sponsor- event sponsored. All these through the expl...
Hospitality is the relation between the guest and host, or the act or the practice of being hospitable. This includes the reception, entertainment and generally looking after the guests, visitors or strangers. The word hospitality is derived from the Latin hospes which means “host”, “guest”, or “stranger”. Hospes is formed from hostis which means stranger. Today in many areas hospitality has developed in various ways, no two ways of hospitality are the same such as in India the term atithi devo bhava is used and guest is considered god like and we are told to respect them as such by touching their feet, in other countries such as the western people prefer a handshake and hospitality is more formal. This is one of the few industries that are directly involved with serving its customers in many significant areas for their wellness that are eating, drinking and sleeping which are some of the most important needs of an individual that a hospitality professional looks after, these are basic things we can provide but the times are changing we are in the 21st century now and the hospitality industry has as any industry been heavily impacted by it. Technology today has completely changed the industry which is why it is important to see which sectors have been affected, where many things have been changed and a new generation of professionals has emerged, which understands it and continues to expand it. This project has given me a new insight into the types of technology that are emerging to improve not only the experience of the guest but also the employees in this industry and their employers. This is why I have chosen five technologies which vary in functioning and development the technologies are Global Positioning Sys...
...y has truly impacted the travel and tourism industry as well. Casino resorts are constantly uprising even after recent recessions because of the popularity of gambling, and the ability to experience many other enticing activities within the vicinity. As the gaming entertainment industry becomes more competitive, demand for higher service quality will increase to give the competitive advantage for success and market leadership (Walker, 2013). With competition increasing, the bigger and better casino resorts offering gaming, lodging, newer entertainment projects, modern and detailed architecture, and improved technology will start to increase in the market. Even with expected increases of these facilities, development companies are expected to practice sustainable initiatives while implementing and constructing these large profit centers of the hospitality industry.
The Hotel industry has become very important in the past years due to immense traveling and growth of international business. The Hotel industry not only plays an important role in the life of people but as well as the economy of the country. I spent an hour of my day relaxing in the lobby at the Fontainebleau resort in Miami, while on vacation with my family visiting from out of state. It was my first time staying at the resort so I was eager to check it out, after seeing such great reviews on Yelp and hearing great things from friends who have been there in the past. The employees working at the resort were very welcoming, professional and willing to go above and beyond to help their guests. The check-in process was very quick due to having
