Although dogs may be loyal, some may beg to differ because if they can talk, surely the would not be as loyal. However reality saves us from the most trustful friend, THE DOG. George Graham Vest, Tribute to the Dog, is a speech that appeals to the jury’s emotion he tries to make them agree to him about the loyalty of thee dog. His technique is fascinating, it moves the reader.
“A man’s best friend is a dog.” They all say, which Vest proves it’s true. He adds in some emotional appeal to his speech talking about how family and the world may turn against you, but dogs will always be by our side. The nearest and most loving to you will betray you. But dogs will always be by our side. Dogs always prove to us that they are loyal. This quote from Vest’s speech tells about how a dog will never leave even in the darkest time: “The one absolutely unselfish friend that a man can have in this selfish world, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous is his dog.” (lines 13-15.) …show more content…

When humans leave their dogs most do not know what is happening. When his master falls from his enemies and it is time to rest. “If fortune drives the master forth, an outcast in the world, friendless and homeless, the faithful dog ask no higher privilege than that of accompanying him, to guard him against danger, to fight all his enemies.” (lines 26-29) the dog will always be loyal to his master.
