The narrator has two daughters, Dee and Maggie. Dee was this cute girl who was super intelligent and sophisticated. She often saw herself as being above her mother and sister and would often make them feel stupid and bad about themselves. "She used to read to us without pity, forcing words, lies, other folks' habits, whole lives upon us two, sitting trapped and ignorant underneath her voice". She shows that Dee enjoyed making her mother and younger sister feel dumb about themselves because it made her feel superior. Her whole life Dee detested her family and where she came from and couldn’t wait to get away. But, still her mother worked her booty off to provide her with high education and a good life. Dee goes away to college and when she returns she is a completely different person, suddenly interested in her family; photographing them upon arrival. With her guest, new "Wangero Leewanika Kemanjo", invades her mothers house taking everything in like it’s a cute display for her. The sisters band together to raise funds for their road trip to the “BIGGEST BINGO IN THE WORLD” (1125) distracting them from their fighting. “[T]he women start their fundraising activities with a vengeance” (1143) each of them using their individual skills as well as pairing up to maximise all of their efforts. The ladies use this fundraising frenzy to distract themselves from the “crazy” (1115) life on the rez where there are “[n]o jobs[, and] nothing to do but drink and - forget about [their] Nanabush” (1115). Only Marie-Adele and Zhaboonigan know the truth that Nanabush is back and having “a holiday” (1143) messing with the girls fundraising activities. The sisters finally raise enough money to get to Toronto and “THE BIGGEST BINGO IN THE WORLD” (1139) and start on their road trip full of “intimate conversations” (1148). Philomena discusses the child she gave up for adoption 28 years ago with Pelajia, Annie and Marie-Adele discuss what is going to happen when she dies, Emily discusses her lost lover with Marie-Adele and Pelajia, and Zhaboonigan and Emily discuss having children. Throughout all of the discussions, each sister gives advice and support to deal with the issues most of which were caused by living on or being from the rez. This part of the road trip was influenced by Nanabush’s attack on Marie-Adele and became important
The play’s major conflict is the loneliness experienced by the two elderly sisters, after outliving most of their relatives. The minor conflict is the sisters setting up a tea party for the newspaper boy who is supposed to collect his pay, but instead skips over their house. The sisters also have another minor conflict about the name of a ship from their father’s voyage. Because both sisters are elderly, they cannot exactly remember the ships name or exact details, and both sisters believe their version of the story is the right one. Although it is a short drama narration, Betty Keller depicts the two sisters in great detail, introduces a few conflicts, and with the use of dialogue,
However instead of an Italian straw hat that has been chewed up, it is an Italian bottle of wine. The bottle of wine belongs to the aunt, who was saving it for Thanksgiving. The wine is important because she needs to drink it on Thanksgiving so she can deal with the family that she is hosting. The problem is, she left it in her car. Then Lilly borrowed her car to drive over to Ashley and Amber’s House. Lilly found the wine and brought it inside and proceeded to drink it. Once Amber realizes it was Aunt’s special wine that Lilly had drunk, she insisted that they find a replacement. Lilly was not in the right state of mind to go out and find a new bottle and Amber stayed at home to take care of her. So, Ashley called an Uber and her and the other girls started on the journey. They decided not to tell the others (the wedding party or group of girls) about the wine because they did not want them to worry or end up spilling the beans. The girls, however, thought they were going to taco bell. So, they go to the liquor store first, to see if they sell the wine. Ashley goes into the cellar with Clara, the owner of the liquor store, while the girls stay in the Uber. The girls get restless, however, and think the liquor store is taco bell. They come in and start ordering tacos from the attendant, Tardine. Clara tells Ashley that they are out of the Italian wine. However, the last person they sold it to was Charmaine, whose family sold drugs for a living. On the way to Charmaine’s house they stop at taco bell for the girls. However, when they get there, Rose, Charmaine’s niece, believes Ashley is there to pick up some drugs. Ashley just wanted the wine, so she figured she would play along with it until she could get the wine. Charmaine comes in and insists that Ashley used some of the drugs before she left, so she knows she is not a narc. Ashley obliges, however she still has the bottle of wine on her
Sitting in Korouva on a Sunday night is an almost awkward experience for me as I am the only “customer” in there with the barista and her friend. But the jazz music is good and my almond milk/pumpkin spice latte is tasty. Every wall in the tiny building is covered in art. Korouva Milk Bar on 2005 Maple Street is a unique space for students to come drink coffee, tea, milkshakes, and creatively named smoothies. It is not a place where I would take my mother. After having been in Korouva during various times in my first semester at Southwestern, I decided to write my ethnography with the aim of figuring out just who Korouva is for. So I spent several more days there over the course of a week to see who walked through the door, or rather, one of two doors. The front door, facing the street, features princess Leia smoking a cigarette saying “be like me, don’t buy ExxonMobil” and “Come back soon… or

An understandable statistic due to the fact we go to war with other countries over oil. So this should give us some perspective on how important coffee really is to us Americans. It is safe to say coffee is the United States' number one choice of morning beverage. As of 2013, there were 10,858 Dunkin Donuts retail stores in the nation. But what many people do not know is that coffee actually shaped the lifestyle of our thirteen colonies dating back to the 16th century.

Ann, the smartest one is having a little fun but not really. Her feelings are that of a person who realizes she’s going to miss what she had, but wanting to get the ceremony over with because it’s taking too long. Amber is thinking to herself that she wishes her mom weren’t there but she’s ‘happy inside because someone is cooing over’ her. As Ann is standing beside Amber she keeps getting these expressions that say, she likes being with her friends but, ‘what is taking so long? Can’t we get out of these dang robes, yet?’
