The film I am going to analyse, American History X, accompanies Field's theory of Three Act Structure, as it focuses on the journey of a former neo-nazi skinhead, Derek Vinyard (Norton), as he tries to prevent his younger brother, Danny (Furlong) from following the same footsteps that he once did. In addition to this, the film includes a non-linear structure, that allows the films narrative to display the two protaganists perspecitives of past and current events, through the use of flashback sequences. This has been done visually to the viewers, as it incorperates sequences shot in black and white, which are featured throughout the films current narrative, with the addition of a narration that is told from Danny's perspective, as he is assigned …show more content…

Our society frowns upon the expression of income in our daily conversations, as it could be seen braggy or a complaint depending on your status of income. Because it's frowned upon to talk about, the topic of income inequality becomes erased or ignored. In addition, income inequality in America's class structure can affect people's ability to reach their American Dream.
I had learned lots of new things this year and especially this semester in U.S. History Since 1877. This history course required all students to complete twenty hours of service learning or to write a term paper. The years after the civil war left one half of America, the north, satisfied and the other half, the south, mostly dissatisfied. Therefore the last third of the nineteenth century, 1865-1900, was a time period in which America was mending, repairing, improving, reshaping, and reconstructing its society, economy, culture, and policies. Basically it was changing everything it stood for. This continual change can be seen in the following events that took place during this time. These events are both causes and effects of why America is what it is today.
