What would you do if you found out your new date was a millionaire, would it cause you to immediately fall head over heels in love with them? Would you rush to get engaged or married because of their monetary worth? Some people would because of their materialistic tendencies and commercial behavior, but under no circumstance does this mean these new people love one another. Money is able to buy you a new house or a new car, but it certainly cannot buy you love. Love is not a commodity or good to be purchased. Love is earned and developed between individuals over time. Money can’t buy love, but it can make an individual more appealing as a potential partner. Due to the advancements in modern day technology, it is easy for individuals to learn more about their potential partners. They can research their partners through various social media platforms such as Facebook, …show more content…

Money can make you more appealing to a potential partner because they view you as a commodity, looking for a rich individual to be their partner. Money is also associated with people of power, many individuals find powerful partners attractive. Having high finances can also make you more appealing on a dating website or dating app by allowing you to pay for services that make you look like your best self. Lastly, money has the capability of allowing you to pay for said dating websites and dating apps. But, under no circumstances can money buy love. This can be seen through the experiences of two lottery winners from England. Money has the capability of making you more attractive to potential partners and buy you services to find you potential partners, but it does not buy you true
At times in my younger life, my entire wealth was less than four dollars. When it comes to love, is there a difference between four dollars and four million dollars” (96)? This specific section really makes me question whether there’s really a difference in the amount of money one has when it comes to love. Although some may say it does, I don’t believe there should be any difference because if you truly love each other all that matters is having one another.
Wealth and fame are not necessities that are needed to be happy with life. Fame and wealth are very sought after, because many people think those things and happiness go hand and hand. People are often mislead by this theory, money can make a person happy but it can also ruin every relationship they have and it can kill any ounce of joy they have. Wealth can be an idol that blinds people to the truly important things in life. When people solely focus on money to make them happy, they become emotionally and physically exhausted.
“Love is an ideal thing, marriage a real thing; a confusion of the real with the ideal never goes unpunished,” said Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. An American wealth-research corporation, Prince and Associates, once did a research on a sample group of more than thirty women that if they would marry for money. Surprisingly, about approximately seventy-five percent of the group said “yes”. In fact, many women admit that they would rather marry a billionaire that they barely know than a penniless guy they truly love. We often read in novels and see it in those late night soap dramas, in the most romantic setting with exquisite background music, the main character solemnly promises his passionate love to the female actor with ninety-nine roses in his hand; the female character of course feels touched by his actions and blissfully accepts his proposal. Depressingly, those fairy-tales are too beautiful to become true. Take Mr. and Mrs. Bennet from Pride and Prejudice for an example, it is quite obvious that these two irresponsible adults did no marry for pure love. Mr. Bennet was more attracted to Mrs. Bennet’s physical appearance in his youth, and he rushed into courtship without further consideration. As time passes, Mrs. Bennet no longer has her good-looking face. Twenty years later, Mr. Bennet lost interest in her and regret ever marrying her. As you can see, in the twenty-first century, a time full with fierce competition, material gain is the first thing most women concern about when they marry, followed by physical attraction and security to a stable home.
There are people in this world that become irrational when they fall in love with their mates, but are blind to the opportunity costs they are exchanging to win their devotion. Basically, according to Brian ORoark, love is the reflection of an inelastic demand curve. Tim McGraw, for an example, wrote a song “Just to See You Smile,” explaining that he would do anything no matter the cost to get his girl to love him. Unfortunately, most people cannot pursue the happiness of their spouse by spending money – even though they ignore the fact that they are penniless because love makes them irrational. By becoming incoherent upon love, it will back fire one financially due to the amount of money one spends for his or her spouse exceeding the income
...Five percent of Americans who are in a marriage or a committed relationship say they met their significant other online” (2). The reality of how relationships are started is through the traditional methods of meeting people offline. People like to meet others through introductions and referrals because it provides a sense of security. Due to the direction that society is headed, we are seeing more and more technological advances. These new advances are giving people the freedom to meet and integrate with others in the society in a safe fashion. However, we know that technology is not one-hundred percent safe proof. Because technology is not completely safe and is not always accurate individuals must use common sense to determine when a situation is not being used properly. Online dating sites through the technological advances are getting lots of recognition.
From a man’s perspective the only way to a girls heart is through fame and fortune. Women would deny this fact at all costs, but they are still sitting silently for a pricey ring to be placed on their finger so the guy can prove his true love. Is it true that money is the only way to show that you love someone? Could money be the reason that you actually fall in love with someone? This is a commonly argued question throughout society and history. I personally think that money does not really control the situation for a girl unless you are like many people say, a gold digger. Within Federigo 's Falcon there are three main messages that are being conveyed; the author attacks the common patriarchy, the author questions whether or not you should
Have you ever tried to date someone online before? In America, online dating is becoming popular, 66% of online daters have gone on a date with someone who they met online, and 23% of them have actually met their spouses. In “Online Dating Odds Getting Better”, Katherine P. Harvey describes the improvements of online dating services in matchmaking industry. More people are able to find their mate through online dating. Most of the profits made by dating companies come from online and mobile dating services provide a lot of creative services. Harvey claims that people prefer online dating is because it provides more options and easier to find someone that meets their criteria. However, companies are not able to solve all the problems of online dating so a lot of new apps are released to perfect the industry. Overall, Online dating as a new way of building relationships, has benefits people in many different ways.
With technology advances steadily in today’s society, individuals steadily advance too. One of these aspects includes dating. Individuals in today’s society hope to find companionship through online dating websites so that someday some online daters might be able to find a companion. With websites like eHarmony, Match, Christian Mingle, OkCupid, Black People Meet, and JDate, finding the one seems to be easier and more convenient than ever. Most of these websites even display statistics showing that one out of five relationships start online. The questions that should be asked, is this a better and safer option than looking for the one in person? Individuals tend to ignore the possible risks involving online dating. They are willing to release personal information from pictures of oneself, to locations of where they work, or live just for the possibility of finding a companion. The online users have to ask themselves: is the risk worth it in the end, or does the benefit outweighs the cost? When searching for a companionship through online dating websites, negative aspects such as profiles, self-presentation, self-disclosure, predators and sexual mishaps, may outweigh the positive aspects and cause more problems and strife then actual good.
And because of the influence of movies and media, it pressurizes people into subconsciously thinking that their date with that special someone should be extraordinary which usually ends up being rather expensive. While the same cannot be said about online dating as it is cost efficient and allows people to expand their horizons by not limiting themselves to the same circle of people. However, people are more likely to imagine their future with someone in traditional dating based on their personality, habits, and more, while the same cannot be said about online dating. But if done right, online dating can help a person meet other people in the real world who they have much in common with. With the help of technology, they can be living on the opposite sides of the world and still get to know each other well, giving them a chance to delay commitment until they are

Online dating is not a recent phenomenon. Ever since the internet became widespread, it has improved and expanded the scope of human communication and this lead to the ability to selectively connect to people near and far for specific purposes. Online Dating, and it’s outlets, have become an arguably effective tool in finding viable partners for romantic relationships. The activity is so widespread that, in 2015 according to Rosette Pambakian, each day, there were at least 1.5 billion ratings on Tinder alone, which resulted in more than 22 million matches worldwide in the span of 24 hours (Loresco, 2015). Considering the nature
Poems are very complex to understand but also is the most expressed pieces of writing that will tell you a whole story in a matter of fourteen lines. There are a lot of types of poems, some may rhyme and some may not, some may be longer than other and some are so short that most people don’t understand them. The secret behind a good poem is what the writer is feeling while writing. William Shakespeare is one of the most famous poets in all history and its very influential that most teenagers have to learn his biography and his poems because these are now part of the basics of literature. He created sonnets called Shakespearean sonnets which are poems about love
I always thought that people who fall in love are weak and because for me love is just like handing your self-destruct button to someone and trusting them not to push the button. I always believed that love is such a mediocre and cliché thing and I will never want to fall in love. Probably that is the reason why no one has fallen in love with me that time. I don’t give love therefore I don’t receive love either. But everything changed few months ago after I’ve watch a television series entitled “Gossip Girl”. After watching it, I’ve always prayed at night that someday I will fall in love just like how the protagonists did in the tv show. I want to experience it. I want to make someone feel valuable and show them that being loved is the most surreal feeling in this world. I want to love someone. And because I think of that every day, now, I fell in love. Although the feelings I’ve felt was not reciprocated by the other party, it was fine because I never prayed for someone to love me. I just prayed that I will fall in love. That must be how the law of attraction works. In this context, I also tried the law of attraction in terms of money. I always think that I have plenty of money and that I never run out of it. I always think that money is just around the corner waiting for me. Since then, I never run out of
Money provides pleasure for humans, like houses, cars, or things people like in the term of toys. However, those material needs will bring temporary happiness. People can buy the newest toy they want, like iPhone. People feel pleasure when people the get the things they want. However, since it is a technology, other new things will be released and the pleasure from the precious toys will decrease. Telegraph, interviewed an Australian millionaire, Karl Rabeder, who was able to buy 3,455 sq ft villa which worth 1.4 million pound sterling. He was also able to buy 17 hectares farmhouse which worth 613,000 pound sterling in the market. He also collected six gliders, which valued at 350,000 pound sterling, and a luxury Audi A8, worth 44,000 pound sterling. He was also able to have a vacation to Hawaii and enjoy the five stars hotel he stayed at. However, he sold his entire asset and gave it all to charity in Central and Latin America. He realizes that money avoids the happiness to come. Now he feels lighter than ever. Many lottery winners also return their prize to charity. Once there was also an old Chinese man who won 4 million Yuan. The onl...
