Autobiography about science experiences For as long as I can remember, science and nature have always been at the forefront of my mind. As an infant, I was introduced to wildlife and many other parts of nature through my parents constant hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors. I then became fascinated by bugs and the stars through playing outside with my sisters. Now, I have become extremely interested in human behavior because of the field I have chosen. Every interaction and different environment I experienced played a major role in developing my own interests. For example, my second-grade teacher was very influential in building my experience with science. To this day I am able to recall an activity we did involving raising butterflies.
When my first grade teacher asked me what I wanted to be in the future I told her, “I want to be a doctor.” My answer stayed exactly the same when my eleventh grade English teacher asked the question. Ever since I was little science has always captured my interest. I was fascinated by the way our body worked and how everything had an explanation behind it.
In the summer of 1998 my family fled the newly created independent country of Croatia (Former-Yugoslavia) to the United States. My parents came here in hopes of finding a better life as the economy was still recovering from Croatia’s war of independence. We first settled in Amarillo, Texas for a few months. We traveled around the states for a year or so looking for other refugees. After some searching my parents decided to move to Connecticut as it offered the best incentives for refugees. Listening to stories about this time of my life has given me a chance to appreciate the help we received from various government programs that settled us, clothed us, fed us, and helped us become independent American citizens. Now I want to give back and the best way I know to do this is by teaching the future generations of Americans.
Many experiences that did not seem academically oriented but became such because my parents steered them that way by tying them learning. I know these helped me at school - I vividly remember sitting in a first grade class wondering why the other students did not know things I already knew, like how the astronauts came back to Earth after having gone to the moon and that snakes are not out in the winter. I could not understand, all through school, why some people could not remember what we read or learned in class because it all seemed to stick with me. Now I know
I have always been fascinated with science-oriented interests. I remember being young and intrigued by the complexity of the human body. As I grew, puzzles and critical thinking became essential to my learning process.
She was the most caring and dedicated teacher I ever had and she respected every student as an individual. On the other hand, she had a very negative influence on my life. She is the person who told me there was no Santa Clause, which ruined Christmas for me for a very long time. Another person who has had a great influence on my life is Mr. Robinson. He was my first band teacher. He is the person who convinced me to join band, which
My next major influence was my first grade teacher. I remember most of that school year was spent on Martin Luther King Jr. That was the first time I had learned about racism, and what had happened in the past to blacks, amongst others. That school year had a great impact on me and it has changed me ever since to treat all people fairly, no matter what color, sex, intelligence level, social class, etc. This experience has taught me the meaning of democracy, and how to practice it.
The other two high school teachers who were influential were helpful in the same ways as Mr. O and Mr. V, always willing to listen, but they were more. Because of these two teachers, I not only knew that I wanted to teach, but they helped me realize what I wanted to teach.
The one person who has influenced my life the most is my dance teacher from middle school, Mrs Linden. Mrs Linden is the dance teacher at Sunnymead Middle School, and has taught there for many years. She was my dance teacher for all three years that I was there, as she inspired me alot. My life has changed for the better since I met her because she has taught me to fight for what I want and to not give up on something I love which is dance. She believed in me when many did not.
My passion for the fascinating wolrd of science literally can not be put into words. Since receiving my first home science kit at five years of age the way things work and why has always been at the forefront of my mind. During my early years I would find great delight in examining anything I could fit under the lens of my telescope. I will never forget my first look at the intricate detail of a human hair.
At each point in my life, I had fabulous teachers that helped open my mind to the bigger world outside. But the person who taught me the most was my mother.
Sci-Fi novels have been around for almost a century. Sci-Fi has the most potential of any genre to capture and explore the imagination of the world we know , or don’t know. Like any other genre Sci-Fi has tried to teach us lessons , or warn us of our arrogant choices as a whole civilization. But like all things, it changes with time. Sci-Fi writers adjust their styles accordingly based on current economic, political, or environmental problems around the world. The language in the writings change as well in an ongoing effort to keep up with the trends of popular culture.
When I look back to my young developing stages in life, I always ask myself where would I be today if it wasn’t for my teachers? Teachers are the ones who build our future generations. Preparing children and teens for higher education. Also playing a huge part in shaping children’s lives, enlightening them, and educating them about society and the world around them; the types of things that a parent doesn’t have time for, or just lacks the knowledge of. I think teachers are what help make this world go round.
Some of the greatest are also the greatest students. My science teacher throughout high school was one of my favorite teachers. She knew how to bring her knowledge to life. Throughout high school I always chose one of her science classes. She had been teaching for at least fifteen years before I was ever a student of hers, and she was still a student in college. She was working on her doctrine in Physics. She was a very smart teacher and she played a big role in myself wanting to be a teacher.
September 12, 2016 was the worst morning of my life. Actually, I can honestly say the worst experience. It is worse than when I cut my finger last year. It all started approximately two to three weeks ago. Let me explain, how the situation evolved. I still really can not imagine how it concluded. That day, I learned there are no shortcuts around some things; you just have to do it.
As for science, I have always had a passion for it, always been interested in finding solutions to problems. Whether that be STEM related, people related or otherwise. You give me a problem, most of the time ill attempt to d...
