Thanksgiving is one of our family big traditions. I love this time of the year because we get to see family from all out of town coming from all different places. Every Thanksgiving everyone gets to choose their own dish to bring or make. One major thing we always do is when everybody are sat down at the table we go around and say what we are all thankful for. This time of the year is very special time for my family, with everyone meeting the family and just having a special family bond. We had over 20 people coming down from out of town for Thanksgiving. I couldn’t wait to see my cousins and all my aunts and uncles. I don’t really get to see too much of my family except for this big tradition. Usually my family and I are the ones who usually travels to places to see the family. My Family and I all prepared our own favorite dish for thanksgiving. I love walking in the kitchen seeing all types of different foods my family has prepared. My Cousin and I made our own delicious strawberry cheese cake for dessert. Cutting up the strawberries in tiny pieces was the best part of making it. Then sitting it in the freezer for it to freeze up. This year my aunt made two types of turkey. The first one was a seasoning deep fried turkey and a regular baked turkey. My personal favorite is the deep friend turkey. I just when cutting open the turkey and you can see all the sprinkle seasoning all over the inside of the turkey. Couldn’t wait to get everything settle and get right to

We are thankful for having a great family who all love one another. It is a special moment when we are all together as a family. So we would each go around the table saying what we are thankful for. Thanksgiving is a very cherishing moment. It’s a great time of the year with seeing and spending time with family. Creating special bonds with family you never met before. It’s great to see all different types of food and dessert. I am so thankful for my family and the traditions we have on thanksgiving.
When the great holiday of Thanksgiving comes to mind, most people think of becoming total gluttons and gorging themselves with a seemingly unending amount of food. Others might think of the time spent with family and friends. The whole basis of the holiday is family togetherness, fellowship, and thankfulness for blessings received during the previous year.
This is a disgrace! To all the turkey’s at Thanksgiving! forty-five million turkey’s are cooked a year. Not only are those awful humans eating us, now they are entrapping us in disgusting cages and making us eat only corn and soybeans. That’s not even the worst part, they put something in our food called vitamins and minerals. I heard yesterday from keith, my turkey friend, that they talk about how they feed turkeys healthy things so that the people who buy the turkeys won’t get sick or something like that. They also say we taste different at different ages.
No matter where you go, it is still Thanksgiving. At my Thanksgiving, we start by watch the Thanksgiving parade. Which, a lot of peers said they watch the parade as well. Another activity I do is talk to my family about random topics.
Thanksgiving Day is a day of family, food, and giving thanks for the blessings in life and yet some people believe Thanksgiving to be a prep day for Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year. The focus of Thanksgiving shifted from family bonding to incessant shopping. This trend of taking away from the hours of Thanksgiving in order to shop is enraging. It steals away from family time for the shoppers and the employees. Employers threaten workers that if they do not work on that certain holiday, they will be fired. Black Friday should be kept to Friday instead of moving in on my family time. The whole culture of Black Friday has become repugnant and unnecessary.
Thanksgiving is a holiday in the United States, which is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November every year. Although the way holidays are celebrated over time, thanksgiving has always been a holiday feast. However, Thanksgiving is more than just eating food together with your family. For instance, some families do charity work for the poor people and create a Thanksgiving dinner for them, other family’s watch sport in addition to the food that they eat together. One part that is common at almost every Thanksgiving dinner is the type of food that is served. Families in the United States have celebrated Thanksgiving for hundreds of years, but the way it is celebrated has slightly changed from the first Thanksgiving. To be able to explain
Textbooks in today’s schools still tell the same story that has been handed down from generation to generation. Every year children dress up and put on plays about the famous story of the first Thanksgiving. No one knows the truth though or at least people pretend to not know the embarrassing truth of our “founding fathers.” Textbooks today give the candy coated version of good saintly Englishmen come to a better world and find good neighbors willing to help in their time of need.
Mere words can't describe how happy I was to cook. Tea cakes, sweet potato pie, honey glazed pound cake, Roasted turkey and leafy greens. I get to Make them all. Of course since I'm a spoiled brat I had to get my hair ready with my apron. Then and only then will I be able to cook. We were in the kitchen all day. You could just. Smell the richness of the turkey. I could almost taste the silky cream sweet potato pie. It would make your mouth water . Halfway through cooking Most of our family was already here (They were going to sleep the night) They pitched in to help, without them we would’ve been cooking through Thanksgiving.
When I was younger, the two holidays I looked forward to were always Thanksgiving and Christmas. This time of the year always is the happiest because everything feels so refreshing because I am spending quality time with the people I love most. When it comes to Thanksgiving and Christmas, I always seem to have the most memorable good and bad moments. These holidays have very different meanings but have the same feeling because it symbolizes, good food, good times with family and a whole lot of drama.
The first Thanksgiving was a very memorable time in U.S. history. The real meaning of Thanksgiving is to spend time with your family and be thankful for what you have been blessed with.
A big part of Thanksgiving is a Thanksgiving feast. The feast usually consists of potatoes, corn, sweet potatoes, peas, gravy, stuffing, salads, buns and lots of other great food. The main part of the feast is usually the turkey. Other families might have ham, roast beef, duck or chicken. The dessert that is most likely to follow the feast is pumpkin pie. Other people may choose different desserts and food depending on their customs and beliefs for which they choose to give thanks. Let’s not forget the biggest and most important reason for this holiday – giving THANKS! People usually give thanks for everything they have. Their jobs, health, families or just being alive are just a few of the things that people give thanks for.
Thanksgiving for my family probably looks a lot like the thanksgiving for most families in the United States. My family always does their best to remember to give thanks for everything that we had that past year and everything that we have in general. From each other, to the house we are in to the food and the cars we drive. It is very valued in my family to give thanks before we indulge in the delicious meal that was prepared by so many different
Holiday dinners are well known for the staple meats like turkeys, hams or roast beefs, I find that abnormally too traditional for my taste. What I love about holiday dinners are the warm gatherings with my family, the sometimes tottering uncertainty of outside guests and enthusiasm for surprise dishes. My favorite holiday dinner has always been Thanksgiving. I have always attended these holiday dinners without a plus one, there would be an awkward exception Thanksgiving of 2004. Thanksgiving of 2004 I thought to myself “Why not bring an extra watering mouth to feed? Thanksgiving is supposed to be about assembly with outsiders. At least that is what the history book pictures displayed.”. So I invited James. I figured drop a few light weighted
Once everything has been cleaned up, my family members and I can relax, spend time with one another, and watch the football game. Though this year's slate of games does not look like there will be any great matchups for the upcoming Thanksgiving,
Christmas with my family is one of the most joyous occasions and food brings a sense of togetherness in my family and is something I will never forget. With my family tradition, I have become very family oriented; I would love to see my children follow the same for years to come. They too will become family-oriented, and they will learn that no matter what, family is always going to be there for them. Christmases spent with my family are memories I will treasure for years and years to come.
Christmas is my favorite holiday because it is the time of year that everyone should spend with their family and friends loving them unconditionally. Every Christmas, my family and I, on my mother 's side, join together on Christmas Eve to be able to spend time with the ones which we love. Considering that my family loves to eat, my grandmother cooks a ginormous feast! My grandmother loves to cook, but on Christmas she goes crazy. She cooks dressing, corn, potatoes, macaroni, green beans, sweet potato casserole, and my favorite pecan pie. After making sure everyone gets enough food, we all join in the living room to share stories and open our presents. My cousin, Brady Parker, always finds a way to make
