Everything that she had worked so hard for had lead up to that moment. She didn’t quite know how to convey the emotions that were dancing around in her conscious being at that exact point in time. Perhaps the same feeling that an Olympic runner would have right before the gun fired to signify the start of the most important 50 meter dash in their life. Well, no matter how hard she tried, there wasn’t a specific situation that could accurately mirror what she was feeling. This was now, and this was her. This was the final performance, and the final chance. Never in her life had she thought she would make it to the Billboard. Yet here she was, about to take the stage, and hopefully secure the title of ‘America’s next superstar’. Everything
This was from the mind of young Grealy, the girl who had a depressed and angry mother, the mother that taught her that it was never okay to show weakness or cry (Grealy 30). Young Grealy believed that the way she earned acceptance during her first visit to the ER could carry over into her home life. I think that this moment encompassed all that Grealy was feeling at this time. The feeling that she was responsible for her mother’s unhappiness and depression, the feeling that if she showed she was not afraid, no one else in her family would be either, and the feeling that if she was not brave, her family would be unhappy forever. This was important because she felt that she had discovered a way to make her family whole again.
She dropped everything in her life at that point, because she knew that there was a problem and she felt she had to go help these people in need.

From being a role model musician as a country singer and not to mention a star in a kid’s television show “Hanna Montana”, to a reckless drug abusing, pop rock musician, Miley Cyrus has become
CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, echoes through my head as I walk to the middle of the mat. "At 160lbs Aidan Conner of La Junta vs. Rodney Jones of Hotchkiss." All I can think of is every bead of sweat, every drip of blood, every mile, every push up, every tear. Why? All of this: just to be victorious. All in preparation for one match, six minutes. For some these six minutes may only be a glimpse, and then again for some it may be the biggest six minutes of their life. Many get the chance to experience it more than once. Some may work harder and want it more than others, but they may never get the chance. All they get is a moral victory. Every kid, every man comes into the tournament with a goal. For some is to win, for some is to place, others are just happy to qualify. These six minutes come on a cold frigid night in February at a place called the Pepsi Center. Once a year this gathering takes place when the small and the large, the best of the best, come to compete in front thousands of people. I am at the Colorado State Wrestling Championships.
Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off”, the first single off of her sixth album 1989, debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in late August of 2014. Swift, whose start as a country-pop performer had thrust her in the limelight when she was sixteen, cemented her transformation from country sweetheart to pop superstar with the track and subsequent album. Dealing with the many criticisms she had faced over the years, particularly the sexist accusations that she was a serial dater and crazy girlfriend, the song’s universally-appealing message of resilience combined with its catchy and carefully crafted sound ensured its positive reception. This popularity served as motivation for its inclusion on the song list for the A.V. Club’s Undercover
... brief time is to sense the passion she has for what she does. For her, the sky is not even the limit, and she is just the type of person to not retreat. Once she decides she is going to do something, she will not rest until she is able to view its realization. Exhilarating stamina and purpose will propel her to the fruition of her labors, and in the end, I believe I can see the day that everyone will know this dreamy-eyed girl who never gave up on what she is convinced is her purpose in life. "I always knew this was what I had to do," she says. "I remember when I was really young, standing on my bed like it was a stage, singing at the top of my lungs and visualizing thousands of people surrounding me". She segued from her bedroom to singing, well, whenever and wherever she could-starting in church singing gospel music, and on to festivals, then singing country music at fairs and talent contests-until she was discovered by Arista Records.
The teen pop idol singer Britney Spears is a woman that I look up to for many reasons. She has tantalized the entire world's youth with her incredible voice. By doing so, she serves as a role model for many of the young people growing up in today's society. Although Britney is only 19, she al...
Now compared to the two mesmerizing Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, Ariana Grande had to slowly work her way to the top just like every other celebrity. Her career was sparked in 2008 by her role as Charlotte in the original Broadway cast of 13. That same year, Grande won a “National Youth Theater Association Award”. In 2011, she was signed to Universal Republic Records. Additionally, she debuted her first single, “Put Your Hearts Up.” It wasn’t until 2013 when she really excelled. In 2013, she released two music videos. One for “Put Your Hearts Up” and another for “The Way” featuring Mac Miller. “They Way”, released in march, sold over 219,000 units in it’s first opening week, making it the third best-selling sales figure of 2013. Furthermore, Ariana received the Best Newcomer at the 2013 Billboard Mid-Year Music Awards. On September 3rd, Grande released her first album Yours Truly. It immediately hit number one on the US charts, and broke records. As you can tell, Ariana Grande has made her effective mark in music very quickly.
