Why should the DREAM Act be passed? America is a brimming nation with immigrants ; these people arrive here to fulfill the much anticipated goal known as the “American Dream”. The American Dream is the ideal lifestyle that many people work hard for. Many of those who are striving to reach the American Dream are illegal immigrants. Many have immigrated into America illegally and bring their children along with them. The children are left with no options of growing up legally, leaving them to grow up with the hardships of life and obstacles on the route to the American Dream. Many say that the DREAM ACT will increase the rate of illegal immigrants. There are millions of illegal immigrants in America and if the DREAM ACT was passed then the rate of illegal immigrants would be decreased. Many of these illegal immigrants are qualified for the DREAM ACT so this program would help increase opportunity for them and become legal. Critics say that the opportunities is what will drive other illegal immigrants to America creating an over-flowing population of illegal immigrants and will lead to a country filled with illegal status, However, the DREAM Act is mostly qualified for teens so the DREAM Act will not be able to support every other illegal immigrant wanting to come into the country, since they will not be able to meet the requirements to participate in the DREAM Act. The DREAM Act is a highly beneficial program because it will increase America’s educated youth, economy status, U.S force quality, and will not increase illegal immigration. The qualified youth can only participate in the DREAM Act, so this will not compel every illegal immigrant to transfer to America. It will increase America’s educated youth through the “two-year degree” rule, forcing an education upon the participants and leading to a successful future off of a solid educational career.
