As the play progresses to the later acts, Macbeth’s attitude towards life becomes numb and psychopathic. “Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow, creeps in this petty pace from day to day... It is a tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.” (Act 5, Scene 5) This quote from Act 5 Scene 5 shows how sad Macbeths life had become, the recent death of Lady Macbeth, he himself murdering his best friend.
