That something special was what Scarelli had in mind in the summer of 2004 after he helped direct a documentary about media literacy for Project Genesis, a nonprofit teen center and in Hillsboro. After spending the summer with the teens, he saw their creativity grow; he also noted that their desire to learn more about directing and the arts grew as the weeks went on. By the time the documentary was finished, Scarelli spoke with Deborah Whitaker-Duncklee, a youth counselor who runs Project Genesis, about the possibility of extending the summer media project throughout the year.

HBO originally aired David Simon’s critically acclaimed crime drama The Wire in 2002. The show went on to air for five seasons, finishing in 2008 after a total of 60 hour long episodes. The series follows different social and institutional systems in the city of Baltimore, while concentrating on the inner-city drug scene. The Wire is unique with it’s extensively large cast, complex story lines and the overall authenticity in style. Simon uses an almost documentarian approach while commenting on “the immobility of society’s largest institutions” (Potter 201).
The story begins with Steve Martin’s character, Peter Sanderson, chatting online with someone who he thinks is a pretty, blonde lawyer. When he finally arranges to meet her for a “first date,” he is shocked to find out that the blonde lawyer turns out to be a black ex-convict named Charlene (played by Queen Latifah) who wants Peter to help prove her innocence from being set up in a bank robbery that sent her to prison for four years.
Mary Wollstonecraft, a women’s rights advocate in the year 1792 summed it up perfectly when she said, “I do not wish them [women] to have power over men; but over themselves.” She is describing the fight within every woman in the Feminist Movement that began in the 1700’s and extended throughout the late 20th century. This powerful motion was a drive to address the debated issues of reproductive rights, domestic violence, maternity leave, equal pay, women’s suffrage, sexual harassment, and sexual violence. As time has passed, feminists have pushed extremely hard to gain equal rights and respect from their male counterparts. Unfortunately in today’s world, society still puts an emphasis on a women’s exterior beauty. They emphasize it in magazines, television commercials, and even the infamous beauty pageant. The industry of beauty pageants is growing rapidly, jeopardizing the continuous work of many women’s rights advocates, throwing away the continuing efforts for equal rights (Miss America, 2011).

...what transmedia could do. It continually saw peak viewing on Hulu and The Population Institute named the series “Best TV Show” and “Best Social Media Campaign” (“Population Institute”). After a successful first season, a second has been ordered with another twelve episodes. The question becomes, will East Los High continue to make ground as an innovative and culturally important transmedia story in its second season? If the creative team continues to foster a community within its audience and allows that community to seek more information, there will only be good things from East Los High. Further study will need to be done to see if East Los High was effective outside of just story, as the first transmedia project also specifically designed to promote health and social justice. If so, the East Los High paradigm could become more popular on screens, big and small.
Everyone has thought at one point or another, "My life is so interesting; it should be a movie." Some may especially think that in the hustle and bustle of Field Week. This year, Marian along with producer, Tom Elkins is making that subconscious thought a reality.
As the story develops, we'll learn that Woody used to serve his country in the Korean war. Woody was also used to be an overall nice guy who just couldn't say 'no' to anybody, he couldn't turn down any favor, people try to take advantage of him. He has a blabbermouthed but very loyal wife named Kate (June Squibb), 2 sons named David (Will Forte) and Ross (portrayed by the guy from Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad
There was this little boy who seemingly want to be loved and accepted by his father. Trapped by the societal norms of being a man he called out for help, but no one heard him. With a sad back story of his mother dying young he had no one who really cared about his feelings, however everyone saw him for what they could personally gain from him. So he turned to weed, sex, and his roommate Lionel Higgins played by DeRon Horton as an outlet to show who he really was as a person.
Now there’s acting, and there’s good acting. Anyone can stand in front of a camera and recite a script, but the ones that can make the viewer forget for a second that the show is fiction, those are the ones I want to see. The joy of watching a scene unfold; being so caught up in the actor’s performance that everything in the real world melts away and all that is left is the character on the screen. In season six, Sam returns from Hell minus one important piece of himself: his soul. Jared Padalecki plays “soulless Sam” in such a subtle but profound way that the viewer gets the feeling that this is not the same person even before it’s revealed what’s going on.
