On Monday, April 21, 2014, along with my friend JJJJ and my Mom, we went to see Alter Bridge perform in concert at Rams Head Live down in the Marketplace in Baltimore, Maryland. The doors opened at 7 o’clock and the concert started at 8 p.m. with the band Monster Truck as the opening act. We went and ate dinner before going to the concert, but when we entered the venue, Rams Head was packed. The show was sold out and there were people ranging from ages fifteen to mid-fifties. There were both men and women in attendance, but I noticed there were more men than women. When we arrived, we only made it for Monster Truck’s final song, but the song we heard was better than I had expected. Monster Truck is comprised of four members: a guitar player, an organ player, a drummer, and a bass player who also is the lead singer. Based on the one song I heard of Monster Truck, they reminded me of a modern-day Deep Purple with even hints of Boston in the way they sounded. After Monster Truck finished, everyone was full of excitement for Alter Bridge to come on.
Alter Bridge was formed out of the remnants of Creed with former Creed drummer Scott Philips, guitarist Mark Tremonti, and bassist Brian Marshall all reuniting in Alter Bridge. The guys added singer-guitarist Myles Kennedy and released their first album “One Day Remains” in 2004 (The Band). The band released their most recent album, “Fortress,” in September of 2013. Alter Bridge came on about 20 minutes later than everyone expected, but upon coming onto stage, they opened with their newest single “Addicted to Pain.” After playing their first three songs, singer Myles Kennedy explained that it was his fault they came on late as he said he was having trouble hitting some of the...

...een to. It was my second time seeing them and I would see them a third time. By far one of the coolest parts about the concert was for their encore when they brought their guitar sponsor, Paul Reed Smith on stage and had a little guitar duel with him before allowing him to play on their encore, “Rise Today.” The band interacted with the crowd very well and I do not think a single person left the show disappointed. The guys in the band are all very nice as well, I would know since I had the opportunity to meet them the first time I saw them. They were all grateful and thanked everyone for coming out to the show. Alter Bridge is definitely one of the cooler, down to earth bands left today, and Myles Kennedy has to be one of the hardest working men in the music industry today.

would have to say that I might even go see them perform again. Everyone left me with a
Overall, I was very impressed by the concert and I feel that the rest of the audience was also. The expectations for the members of the Chamber Orchestra are high and those were met but I feel that the expectations for the choral group were not as high. My expectations for the choir were not very high and they were immensely exceeded. The level of talent in that group was something that I was really not expecting at all. Emotionally, I was brought in by The Lord Nelson Mass and it was an interesting experience. Technically, I feel that everyone was flawless though I do not have a lot of experience in music. The type of music performed will never be my favorite; however, it is something that I can really appreciate.
The concert is performed by the Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. The video of this concert is 90 minutes in length. The concert was an ensemble of various Dave Brubeck arrangements utilizing various jazz techniques and styles with mainly the following instruments: bass, piano, trumpet, trombone, tenor sax, soprano sax, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto sax, flute, piccolo, baritone sax, drum, and tambourine. The performance included these 15 pieces: “Unsquare Dance”, “Three to Get Ready”, “The Duke”, “Cassandra”, “Strange Meadowlark”, “Who Will Take Care of Me?”, “It’s a Raggy Waltz”, “Tokyo Traffic”, “Take Five”, “Lost Waltz”, “Upstage Rhumba”, “In Your Own Sweet Way”, “Fast Life”, “Bluette”, and “Blue Rondo a la Turk”. The performance highlights the versatile, influential and extraordinary life’s work of Dave Brubeck.
Rock n’ roll gave people the voice they did not have in the early years. As the genre of music became more wide spread, people actually began to speak out. Altschuler touches on the exploration of how the rock n' roll culture roughly integrated with replaced and conflicted with preceding cultural values. Many of these values were very touch topics. Besides black civil rights, sexuality were one of the most sensitive t...
For my first concert report, I have decided to attend the Applied Music Student Recital. The musical performance was at Palomar College on February 27, 2015 from 1:00P.M.--2:00P.M. at the performance lab room D-10. The type of music that was presented at the concert was a brass ensemble, chamber music, classical, contemporary, jazz, opera, percussion, and many vocal arrangements. There was a total of eight musical Palomar College student performers who are majoring in music theory. I am only going to focus on a few of the musical pieces that I enjoyed most. The majority of the performers were dressed in formal attire. As the men were dressed in a dress shirt, a tie or bow tie of their choice, black slacks, and dress shoes. As for the women, they wore dresses, skirts and dress shoes. Also there was a pianist, accompanist who is a Palomar College music teacher named Ruth Weber. The performance was in a music concert hall with roughly fifty audience members.
On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, I attended a musical concert. This was the first time I had ever been to a concert and did not play. The concert was not what I expected. I assumed I was going to a symphony that featured a soloist clarinet; however, upon arrival I quickly realized that my previous assumptions were false. My experience was sort of a rollercoaster. One minute I was down and almost asleep; next I was laughing; then I was up and intrigued.
...ofessionals they didn’t just play music but they took pride in whatever instrument they played which really made it more enjoyable. I took notice in how the band communicated with each other either by hand signal or eye signal and they all paid close attention to Eric’s every move. It is so important to watch whoever is leading; good communication will cut down a lot of unnecessary mistakes. I really enjoyed the songs the texture of the songs was composed very well, even though the songs were written in a 60s and 70s style I could relate to them. My favorite is “Layla” I sometimes sing it all throughout the day, I love the texture and I love the rhythm. Overall the concert was awesome, I would definitely attend Eric Clapton’s concert if he’d come into my town. The concert was well worth listening to and I would definitely invite a friend to join along with me.
On October 6, I attended a Wind Ensemble in Bennett Auditorium and was delighted by the experience. All of the pieces that were played were definitely interesting, but some pieces were more enjoyable than others. When I arrived at the event I was expecting a larger audience than what I saw, however I have not gone to anything like this event before so it could possibly have been a good turnout. Overall the performers all did very well and I would definitely like to attend more concerts similar to this one.
We got to the Murray about twenty minutes before the concert started. So we headed in to find our seats and wait for the opening band to come out and perform. At about five after eight, the lights went out and it was time for the concert to start. Two guys came out on stage and started to sing. The two guys called themselves Core Project. I thought that this band was pretty awful. I could not understand one word they said the entire time they were on the stage. They just tried to be like every other band to come out right now. They didn’t offer anything different or unique. I must not have been the only one that thought they were bad because there were many people booing and yelling out “you suck” while they where on stage. After about a twenty minute performance they left the stage and another band came out to perform.
The event I attended was “An Evening of Jazz” concert held at the Fine Arts Hall on November 17 at 7:30 p.m. The performing groups were The Santa Fe Rhythm and Blues Review, The Santa Fe Jazz Combo, and Santa Fe Big Band. The event was to for me to understand, experience Jazz music and know the instruments used.
Imagine Dragons, an American alternative rock band, was formed in 2008, but didn’t make their bid debut until 2009 when a member of Train fell sick just prior to a concert. Hitting the charts at number 40 in 2011 sparked their career in the music business. Their second single “Radioactive” reached Number 1 and sold more than 7 million singles as well it shattered the record by spending 87 weeks on the Billboard Top 100. Recently the group won an emmy
On November 13th I went to Tramps in New York to see one of my favorite bands, MxPx. MxPx is a Christian pop-punk band. Pop punk basically means happy punk. The band members, are Mike Herrera who plays bass and sings, Tom Wisniewski who plays guitar and Yuri Ruley plays drums. They played about 10 songs, all of which I knew. Some of their songs have to do with society problems through the eyes of a teenager. At the show, the first song they played was one of my favorite's, "Teenage Politics".
Rock music has been commonly linked with violence, rebellion, hysteria, distortion, sex, and more negative characteristics. According to Cotaga (2011), Rock'n'Roll groups are thought to be constantly intoxicated or affected by substances and steady gathering individuals encompassed by young
On Friday, July 10th, 2015, I drove to the 6th Street to the Metronome Coffee in Tacoma to see a performance of young musician. Performer’s name was Tyler Shockey, and he played and sang by himself. After listening to his few songs, I learned that his songs do not have many lyrics, and he mainly played on electric piano and drums. The electric piano had many different sounds, and Tyler amazingly played many instruments and even sang at the same time. His music was pleasant and easy to listen, and some of songs were in slow tempo with few words of lyrics. However, the place was a little bit small for the music so it might have sounded loud for some people. On the other hand, I felt like the singer was expressing his feelings
I had never really been to a big concert that had a well-known band. A couple of weeks before the concert I got some information about it, but really didn't think much of it. I talked with some friends about the band and we all casually decided to go get tickets for it. Little did I know what an absolutely spectacular time I would have.
