For my marketing principles class, we had to work through a simulation on a market share website. In this simulation, we had to choose our product, decide on how much to charge for the product, and to work through the obstacles that the simulation threw our way. You start out as a member of the brand management team for Allround. Allround is a brand for cold medicine and you decide what some of the ingredients are, where to supply your product, which benefits that are listed on the product, and many more things. There were a couple practice rounds and about six rounds right after the practice rounds. Each round is different from the last when it comes to the market conditions.

was going on to be honest. I definitely did not end up with the best stock price at the end of the simulation. One of the biggest things I looked at before I made my decisions was the market update. The simulation gave us different market conditions for each period and the market update tab gave me a good idea on what those conditions are like. Some examples of what is in these updates would be telling me that one of my competitors released a new cold medicine into the market, if market prices increased or decreased, which retailer had the most growth and sales, and many different other important factors. The market update tab would sometimes also have messages that would give you tips on how to improve your decisions. An example of a tip would the simulations telling me to check the pricing report because some retailers are complaining that you are not providing enough promotion allowance for Allround compared to the competition. Every once in a while I would ask a classmate for help or compare decisions with someone else, but I mainly did this simulation by myself. Looking back now, it probably would have been a better idea to work more with my classmates. It was mainly just a handful of us in the class comparing stock prices after we submitted our decisions. About half way through the semester, everyone in the class started having problems at the second period. The simulation was letting us advance into the third period. It kept saying that there was an error with my decision inputs and it would not let me submit my decision. Usually, the simulation would not let you advance if you had spent more money on your decisions than you currently have or some other situation like that. I went back and changed everything and it still would not let me advance. My class soon figured out that we were in the wrong simulation. We were in the individual simulation and we needed to be in the team simulation. So after several weeks of work, we had to start all over again in a new simulation. I felt like after the whole class had to restart we all lost some interest in the simulation. I was kind of frustrated with having to start over, but of course, it was not the end of the world. I just noticed that I used to talk a lot about the simulation in class with my classmates, but after that, no one really said anything about it. So I am assuming that I am not the only one who was a little frustrated. Besides that, there was not that many problems with the simulation. In my macroeconomics class, we talked about inflation and deflation and how it affects the market. As inflation increases so does the prices for everyday items. In the simulation, it would inform me in the market update tab if there was any inflation and how much inflation there was. I am not an expert, but I know inflation in the simulation should have an effect on how you price your product, as well as what you should set your volume discount at. I think it is a lot easier to sit in a class and learn the different marketing strategies and all the different factors to look at when selling, distributing, and promoting a product. The hard part is to go out and actually put this knowledge to the test. We learned how to look at individual markets in our microeconomics class, but everything we looked at was very simplified and everything also depended on certain market factors remaining constant, ceteris paribus, but in real life, no factors are going to be constant. Everything in my past classes was based on an assumption, which makes it possible to study the market, but I feel like it did not help me as much as I thought it would in this simulation. So after completing this market simulation, I now believe that the best way to understand the market would be to work on simulations like this. At least it would be the best way for me. With that being said, I still think it is important to take classes like macroeconomics and microeconomics. It is important to get a simple and basic understanding of the market and how it works before working on simulations like this one. I also came to the conclusion that I was not looking at all the information that I should have been before making my decisions. I did not purchase any of the other tabs like shopping habits, channel sales, and marketing expense. Looking back now, I probably should have purchased some of these extra tabs. Even though I spent plenty of time reading the market updates and checking my prices, I was still having trouble keeping my stock price up. My main goal at the at the beginning of the simulation was to get a higher stock price than my friends. I soon realized that my goal of beating my friends was not the best goal and it probably was not very realistic. My short term goal was to try to not let my stock price decrease after each advancement. My long term goal was to finish with a higher stock price than what I started out with. Looking back now I should have read more of the reports about the market provided by the simulation. As I stated before, I had a basic knowledge about how markets work and I thought my past experiences with macro, micro, and other marketing classes would have helped more. Doing more and more simulations would be the best way to help me gain more knowledge on how the markets work. I should have asked for more help from my friends with this simulation, but I feel like I did learn a lot from my failures.
I feel like I learned more from my failures in this simulation than if I would have just literally made the same decisions as one of my classmates. I would not have learned much from having a friend succeed for me, but I know that a little help from a friend would have been beneficial. After finishing this simulation, I was a little disappointed with the results. With that being said, I know that I have the potential to do better. I think that this was a great experience for me even though I struggled with the simulation. I learned that I need to review all the possible information before making a decision, not just some of the information I feel to be the most important. I am not a huge fan when it comes to failure, so I think that this experience will help me strive to get better and help me understand the markets more. I know that I want to to be involved in the Agriculture market when I graduate, so I know that I need to expand my decision making abilities and my ability to analyze data. I know that I will have to continue to work for my goals for the future, but I know that I am up for the challenge. I am not the type of person who can just look at a problem and know the answer right away. I honestly might go through this simulation a couple more times just to see if I can improve from my first trial. I will be able to do a better job at gathering all the information I need to make the best
decisions. Overall, I thought this was a very interesting assignment. As you can see, I learned a tremendous amount of valuable information from doing this simulation.
This game was an important tool on showing how a business must adapt to new situations and react to market changes. We learned how difficult it is to pick a strategy and implement it into the dynamic market.
The marketing simulation allows us to develop a solid knowledge in the marketing. It permits executing a solid marketing strategy. We were able to implement all aspects of the marketing strategy including target market, product design, pricing, marketing communication mix, pricing media selection, promotion, and place. Throughout the simulation, all 4ps marketing elements have been developed.

In this reflective analysis of NAEYC Standard three, Observing, Documenting, and Assessing to Support Young Children and Families, I will first reflect on my growth, as an early childhood professional, during my course of study. Secondly, I will address my strengths related to the standard and discuss areas in need of further professional development. Finally, I will outline my goals for future growth and development. Early childhood educators demonstrate professional competence by understanding the role of assessment and the various methods of assessing student learning, including observation, documentation and standardized testing. These assessment strategies, along with partnerships with parents, can support students in their development and growth, by informing instruction and evaluating instructional practices.
In order to make the most logical and beneficial purchases, it was first important that I fully understood the terminology used within the stock market. Words such as blue chip stock, mutual fund, stock splits, and ticker symbol would all prove incredibly important for me to understand if I was to do well within the game. For example, the first stock I bought, Disney, taught me the definition of a ticker symbol - in Disney’s case, DIS. This enabled me to quickly identify other stocks by their ticker symbols as well, and I soon became familiar with the term. In addition, when I bought Coca-Cola, I soon learned its financial importance as a reliable blue-chip stock, as it and other stocks like it proved profitable for me. My class was also required to buy a mutual fund, and in doing so I learned how exactly a mutual fund differs from a stock, the positives and negatives of buying one, et cetera. In addition, my knowledge of the history that places like the NYSE contains proved incredibly important towards my success within the game. Because I learned about the NYSE’s foundation and the many people who worked to make it what it is today, I was able to fully appreciate the importance of the stock market as I moved through the simulation. This, in turn, helped me take the Stock Market Game seriously and not waste any of my money on stocks that I considered
Focus on specific segment of Sonite market is very crucial in Markstrat simulation because we would able to focus on analyzing our portfolio and took immediate actions to improve and reposition our products. Our Sonite products, SOFT and SOLO were not focus on targeting Shoppers and Savers though we acknowledged that both segments are the largest one, even for the next five periods. We were split a few portion of our advertising to raise awareness and obtain the market share for other segments (Professionals, High Earners, and Explorers) throughout the first three periods. Nevertheless, we were not able to gain awareness and market share of these segments because our initial product’s attribute was far from their ideal values.
This lab has changed the way I view how college will be like. Most likely I will have to write big papers like this one and will have the same or even less amount of time. It also has shown me that if I force myself to do something in little chunks, I can get it accomplished with less stress than I would if I had done it all in the span of one or two nights. I also have concluded that I should work on my time management and setting different priorities. This lab has hopefully triggered something in my mind that will help with my future projects and papers in which I will space out time and be able to make better decision during the projects.
Upon completing the Everest simulation, it was obvious that in order to complete such a simulation direct actions had to be taken which were carefully thought out. This which was done by sharing resources between the whole team and ensuring individuals met their own goals. My role as the observer was assumed to help and advise the team along their journey through the simulation, although this was very limited help as it wasn’t first hand it was still a learning experience. The simulation itself offered restricted time to complete the task and so we found ourselves to not be able to complete the tasks efficiently within the time given.
1. Currently as a Step 2 Designee, I analyze information regarding the procedures of National contract between management and bargaining units. I meet with the union representatives from both American Postal Workers Union and National Postal Mail Handlers Union regarding alleged violations. I attempt to resolve contract issues and concerns at the lowest level. After reviewing grievances and all supporting documents, I prepare a full detail statement of facts. I rely upon contracts, handbooks and policies to determine the appropriate decision.
The supply and demand simulation shows the complex of a real life in Atlantis, which is the only company that would rent out apartments. The simulation was to inspect micro and macro concepts, ordaining how shifts come about in supply and demand curve in its equilibrium balance affecting decision making and of the prices of the units.
On Thursday November 17, 2016, I received a grace warning for time management for not attending the clinical duty rotation for screening and mentoring on time. Such warning resulted from not being aware of the actual time for the students to appear in clinic. I was under the impression, based on our duty rotation schedule as it stated, that our rotation duty starts at 1PM until 4PM. Together with my peers we appeared in school at 12:30 but took our time to get ready and change to our scrubs and lab jackets. We entered the clinic 15 minutes prior to 1PM. At that point we were told by our clinical technician that we are late for our duty screening rotation even though we were under the impression we have appeared early. According to the clinical technician our screening duty rotations starts half hour prior given time just like our previous clinical time. This has displayed a lack of courtesy to the clinical technician, faculty and students, and as a result I was issued a time management grace warning.
There are many pro’s and con’s of test marketing a product before manufacturing, promoting, and distributing it on a national scale. Firms may decide to use the test marketing process to gauge the viability of a product before investing millions in mass production. This process can provide useful information that can be applied for a more successful launch. There are several advantages and disadvantages that can come with this test marketing process, though.
I am taking HLST 3110 as my elective course for fourth year. I know there are tons of courses out there, but this course caught my attention and there are three reasons why. Firstly, I want to take an elective course that is related to my program, which is in Health Management or anything more generally related to health studies. I want to enhance and expand my knowledge in the field of health studies so that I can use what I’ve learned in the future because one day, I want to be a healthcare administrator that can manage a healthcare facilities or a systems and provide quality of care and efficiency. And to achieve this, it is important to perceive not only the internal environmental factors, but also the external factors that can affect the performance of healthcare
I have learned several valuable things from this project experience. First, it’s okay to not know how to do something right away. Ask, observe and experiment. Doing so will greatly enhance my ability to do it correctly and continue to learn. Second, I learned that this can be an experience in frustration if I always try to not make waves. Sometimes waves need to be made to better the project. And third, watch for similar frustrations with my students and intervene before it gets too serious.
When first beginning the course, I was both hesitant and excited. I never had tried a fully simulation-based course, and therefore was looking forward to it. Over the course of project one, I learnt many new skills and techniques in order to communicate at a higher degree of efficiency. In the first task, I learnt how to reach out to a client in a professional manner. In the past, I would not have known to email a client to introduce myself, and therefore this was something that was new to me. Furthermore, I like to consider myself a decent writer of professional emails, so learning about vocabulary was not something I felt I needed to focus on.
