There are many issue one has to face when deciding to leave their country and coming toAmerica. Amongst having to adjust to the lifestyle of living in America. Although there arethings on has to leave behind to chase a dream or even freedom. The things that are lost cannever be regained and having to decide if coming to America really worth the change of onceknown lifestyle she had.In the story “Notes of an Alien Son: Immigration Paradoxes” the author AndreiCodrescu, tells a story of his mother's journey to America from Romania. Made her question was it worth it and was returning home an option forher.Finally after all that she had sone and left behind to chase her American dream. Wasn’tsure it was worth it but look back she knew she had made the right decision. Knowing she hadtraded one paradox for another paradox realizing she was better of living here was better than thelife she would have had in Romania.I would have to agree with the writer mom when it comes to food because, I was raisedon a farm where we grew just about everything we ate and even some of the meat we ate wasright in the backyard or even hunted. I felt it had to be really hard to leave your family andfriends behind to chase a better life. In America we do it every day but home is something wecan go back to it could just be up the street not across the world. Freedom is such a sacrifice thatone makes just to come to America I hope it’s well worth it.I would have to agree to disagree about the rude and greedy people can be. Some peopleare the way there are just because and it could be from the way someone is raised. There is alsobelief that people sometimes protect themselves by putting on rude faces and sticking to one selfnot to get out of their comfortable zone it just not an American way.When chasing a dream or freedom there are many sacrifice you will have to make inorder to make the right decision for yourself. All in the end you have to choose what is worthlosing to gain or have a better life. Freedom
