About a month after they got together, Alexander Hamilton and John Laurens were content. Their relationship has started with a crash, but now they were both happy, or that’s what they thought. John knew that Alex’s old boyfriend, Aaron Burr, was abusive towards Alex mentally, and had left many scars on Alex’s soul. Alex seemed happy enough however, and eventually John began to forget about Burr and what he had done to Alex. ALex spotted their friends Lafayette and Hercules and went their way as John went to get drinks. After grabbing two beers John headed over to his boyfriend and his friends. He twisted his beer cap off and handed Alex his. Alex took the beer carefully staring at it confused. He shook his head and slowly handed the beer back to John. John raised an eyebrow, confused. “Do you not like beer Alex? I can grab you something else,” John gestured over to the table of drinks in the corner of the room. Alex shook his head again. John gently took Alex’s hand and pulled him into a different room. “What’s wrong Alex? You look miserable, did someone say something?” Alex shook his head again, before taking a breath. “Aaron says I am not allowed to drink alcohol,” Alex said softly, as if he was ashamed, “he said it made me untrustworthy, idiotic, and not attractive to him. And that he would,” Alex stopped for a second and glanced around the room, to make sure Burr wasn’t there, “he would hurt me if he caught me drinking.” John had no words. How could someone be this cruel to someone as perfect as his Alex. He started to talk again, to comfort Alex, to tell him everything would be alright when Alex started to speak

Aaron was very envious of his classmates; because they were from higher socioeconomic statuses and with each question Aaron nervously took sips of his Coke every time he was to answer a question regarding what exactly his family

John's decision to commit suicide was the right thing to do to make Ann happy. John thought that killing himself would make it easier for her to stay with Steven, who he thinks that she loves. John made a decision about his own life so he has the right to choose to kill himself. He also just wants Ann to be happy. He is "naively proud of Ann. Many people have been factors in the growth of the United States’ economy. Perhaps the earliest and most influential of these was Alexander Hamilton. Alexander Hamilton was born on the island of Nevis of the British West Indies January eleventh in 1757. He lived with his brother and a single mother. In 1772, Hamilton moved to the United states. He entered the Continental Army in 1776 as the captain of artillery while in New York where he also studied law at King’s College. He was married to Elizabeth Schuyler in 1780. Elizabeth was from a wealthy land holding family, this helped Alexander hold ties to rich and powerful leaders in New York. Alexander Hamilton died in 1804 on July 12. Aaron Burr was the man who killed him in a duel because Mr. Hamilton help Thomas Jefferson win the election for becoming the 3rd president of the United States.

Immediately this comes into effect as John says, "But...Between you and me, you understand?... Although the narrator feels desperate, John tells her that there is “no reason” for how she feels, she must dismiss those “silly fantasies”(166). In other words, John treats her like a child and gives her reason to doubt herself. “Of course it is only nervousness”(162). She decides. She tries to rest, to do as she is told, like a child, but suffers because John does not believe that she is ill. This makes her feel inadequate and unsure of her own sanity.
