With the $10.00 I had stashed away I bought our meal for the two day with a decent amount of mazuma left over. The time had come to get off the train and we no transportation we couldn’t get around. For we left the truck back at the station.
“We should start heading to Al Capone’s house and how big the bimbo is,” Gerald muttered. I sort of felt like Gerald was jealous that I so deeply worshipped Capone, but I knew Gerald wouldn’t have any feelings for me because I was a cold-hearted girl that no one could ever love.
“Yeah we’ll be on our way in a second,” I said making sure the boys had heard what I said because I knew we wouldn’t have to do much traveling to find him. If there is one thing I know is that Al Capone hides in the open because the most obvious people would think to look in a less populated area. But, that’s the most relevant assumption to go to. That’s why hiding in a more populated area works. It’s a mind trick that only the pros and experienced crooks think of.
In the corner of my eye I noticed two men standing in front of a hickory door with shades on to make themselves look more envious. I spotted them out to the boys and explained to them the theory I had. They agreed that it was a nice assumption and a great mind trick and that we needed to find a

way to get in. But, I just said that we would tell the men that we were doing business with Al Capone and they would surely let us in. However, I was wrong. They needed a specific reason why we were going to proceed business with the boss. “We are exchanging the giggle water that he ordered. And we sure would love to be paid our expenses. You know smuggling things don’t come easy when it’s across borders,” I said while trying to assure my facial expression stays neutral. Somehow the men bought it and let us in the lavish building. While looking around I noticed that Capone must spend his money freely because there is many valuables in the home that I would've never have imagined to see. As I was about to turn a corner I saw Capone walking down the grand staircase that led up to the many floors above. Gerald’s, Williams, and Robert’s facial expressions were priceless. Their jaws were dropped and their faces expressed astonishment. I walked up to him beginning to introduce myself to him before he cut me off. “And who may you peasants be?” he sad with the most impeccable voice ever. I was so nervous and bewildered of his use of tone that I say the most offensive thing ever, “Well, I am sure surprised by the tone of your voice. I imagined it to be much deeper.” I could tell I made him angry at me because his face was turning red hot like chili pepper my mom used to use to make chili. “Sir, I am so sorry for what my friend has said. I can assure you she didn’t mean it and…” This time Capone spoke with a stern quality in his voice, “Silence!!! How dare you kids come into my home and tell me off. From now on the eldest may only speak forward.” Just what I needed after insulting my idol. I’m sure talking to him would make it way better right? “Hello I am Cara and this is Gerald, William, and Robert. We have ventured out of our ways to see you. We want to be like you. Having crazy adventures, adrenaline, and the epic gang bombardles. I’ve looked up to you since I was little and having the loss of Roy a past member made me want to become more brave and courageous like you. My identity from before got thrown away, but I’m willing to bring out that girl again just to be apart of you and your gang. And the boys are willing to do the same,” I said with sincerity and confidence. “Ah. I see where you’re coming from my dear. Here, I have a proposal for you and your fellow members. Tonight there is a meet up at the pier for a rumble with the North side and if you and the boys follow through and survive you may join the pack. The only weapon used in the rumble may be shiv. Or fail and be thought of as a piker,” he said with a grim face sending chills down my spine. I guess my heart knew what I was thinking because I blurted out, “Yes you have a deal!” “Okay come back here around 8:00 sharp or you’ll be left behind,” he said turning his back to walk up the stairs. As soon as Al Capone got out of sight we headed down the foyer out the door past the guards. “What the heck are you thinking Cara! Are you trying to get all of us killed? Gerald said with a gleam in his eyes. “No, but…” I tried to continue, but Gerald stopped me and waved me over away from the other boys. “We never agreed to this. We left the rumbles, alcohol, and the ways of the gangs for a reason. Just think what Roy would do and do the opposite. You know the South side envies the North side. The North side is where you grew up and I’m shocked you're willing to fight them to be apart of the horrendous gang. Also, I wanted you to know I discussed with the boys that we are leaving and going back home to be with our families and your brother. Who knows what leaving him may do to him in the future. Just think he might even end up like William who's scared of his own shadow. I feel like we went too far and now all you got is yourself. Bye Cara,” I would’ve never believed Gerald to be so associated with feelings. These past days have been hectic and I’ve only thought about myself and he’s right. I’ve only got myself. The boys and I exchanged our grievances and were sought to leave the next train. Gerald and I hugged for a very long time and he pecked my cheek whispering, “I will always love you Care Bear.” That was what he used to call me when I was little and I was surprised he had remembered it all these years. The train rolled into the station and began to get on. When all of a sudden they just stopped. I noticed Gerald hugging a figure, but I couldn’t quite make out who it was due to the darkness setting in. The figure waved at me and the boys started to get off the train. I was frazzled and confused on why they were getting off, but I would soon figure out why. Another figure appeared from behind William. And I was astonished to see who it was. “Cara! Cara! Is it really you? it was my brother John running towards me with his arms flailed open for a warm welcoming hug. “Oh, John it is me. I’ve missed you so much. Why are you here?” “James said that Gerald had called him to tell him where he was and that you’re in a rumble. Al Capone was on the phone with me Cara. It was brilliant. He said it would be okay for me to stay at his home when you guys go fight the North. And we must not keep on waiting it’s 7:53 already.” “Oh, no!
We have to hurry!” I said beginning to run towards Al Capone’s home. Gerald and James begin to pull up beside me exchanging the love they both have for me. The reason why we couldn’t catch up was because there wasn’t enough time to do so. That’s because the rumble was about to start in 7 minutes and we still had to meet up with Al Capone and his gang. You may be wondering what we are rumbling about. We are rumbling because the South envies the North already in general and the North isn’t agreeing to share their smuggled alcohol with them. Which makes the South very angry because they don’t have anymore suppliers to send them the alcohol. Because the giggle water supply is running

In The Rich Get Richer and the Poor Get Prison by Jeffery Reiman and Paul Leighton, four multifaceted issues are focused on and examined. These issues are the Unites States high crime rates, efforts in explaining the high crime rates, where the high crime rates originally came from, and the success attained at a high price. The initial key issue that Reiman and Leighton discuss is America’s high rising crime rates with the understanding of the people that believe policy and regulations are the causes of the decrease in crime. The many graphs throughout the chapter represent information that undoubtedly illustrates that specific policy and regulation may cause rates to become stagnate or strike a plateau. While the rule makers make it appear as though their organization is functioning. Later guns and gun control policy are discussed. With the stern enforcement of the gun policy, at the time, crime appeared to decline, or become stagnate resulting in a plateau effect that is illustrated in the graphs. Countless arrests were made with large quantities of people being imprisoned. Du...

Al Capone’s family came with a wave of other Italian immigrants that migrated to the United States in the 1800’s. Most immigrants in that time were living in poverty and in very urban areas. Capone’s family lived in the heart of Brooklyn, but his father was a successful barber which allowed them a slightly better lifestyle than most. Al Capone was the fourth of nine children and grew up with a very tight-knit Italian family who were trying to succeed in their new country”. Capone attended public school in the city and had a natural brightness by keeping a “B average” despite playing hooky on many occasions. The sixth grade showcased Capone’s short temper when he hit a female teacher who was lecturing him. This incident reveals the beginning of who Al Capone would come to be. After being suspended for his violence, he never officially furthered his education. He began his life of crime by joining the kid gangs that existed all over Brooklyn. These “gangs” were nothing more than children being hoodlums and participating in petty crimes, although they would be the ...

...s. Was Capone fully to blame for the violence that plagued his life? Or was he adapting to the times in which he lived? Maybe he was a man who believed in self-defense in a cruel time where he was just as likely to be killed by an opposing bootlegger. In several interviews, he spoke of peace. He asked for peace from other men that challenged him. Some might even call him generous. Whatever Al Capone was, there was one type of person that he believed to be truely evil. In the words of Capone, "There's one thing worse than a crook, I think...and that's a crooked man in a big political job. A man who pretends he is enforcing the law and is really making dough by breaking it. Even a self-respecting hoodlum hasn't any use for that kind of fella..he buys them like he'd buy any other article necessary to his trade. But he hates them in his heart," (Blumenthal 102).
The time was late in the reign of Capone. His operations in the 1920s through the 30s led the FBI getting involved in his antics. Capone would have signs of his work all over the place, but he could never be caught. Whether it was bribing a jury, or even just serving small time and getting out for good behavior. Capone could not have the book thrown at him, he was just too sly. The mob was always hard to catch due to lack of evidence and the fact that people could be either paid off or scared off. In 1931, the time would come and the Eagle would finally catch the snake. Capone was found guilty of tax evasion on bootlegging money. In a article on History.com, states that, “On June 5, 1931 the U.S. government finally indicted Capone on 22 counts of income-tax evasion…. When the judge in the case declared that he would not honor the agreement, Capone quickly withdrew his guilty plea, and the case went to trial. During the trial Capone used the best weapon in his arsenal: bribery and intimidation. But at the last moment, the judge switched to an entirely new jury. Capone was found guilty and sent to prison for 11 years” (History.com). Capone was finally sentenced to true jail time. The judge he faced was not entertaining his bribery and his corruption in his courtroom. Capone had finally been caught and sentenced to eleven years
