Air Ball Monologue

The Air Ball

“Dad I've been telling you for a long time that I want to commence playing basketball, I want a hoop and a ball. I haven’t asked for much in my life”, explained Michael in a mad voice.

“I know that you have wanted the basketball equipment so we can go to a store and buy it today,” said dad. Michael was thrilled that he was getting a hoop today. “Thank you, dad,”Michael smiled.

Michael is a knowledgeable and discerning 8th-grade student that goes to LA Middle school. He has never played basketball in his life, and he wants to pursue his dream of start playing. Michael's friends are outstanding players, and he wants to be as good as them, because he feels left out when they play.

A few minutes later, they see the flight decelerating, and they observe the aircraft doors opening. Michael responds, “I don't know, let's see what they do for us.” The pilot approaches out of the plane with a light yellow parachute. The pilot grasps the ball with his large, chalky hand somehow and brings the round ball that fits in one of his hand down with him safely. Michael and Dad were delighted, but Michael knew he was going to be in hot water. The pilot face also had a beam, and he felt like he helped someone's life because any plane could have hit that ball.

Dad says, “Did you close the air hole?”

Michael responds, “What hole? I didn’t close anything.” Michael told a white lie to his dad even though he knew about it.

The pilot came down and tossed the ball to Michael. He told Michael, “Before you shoot again to make sure you close that hole.” The pilot got taken to the airport by Michael’s
