Europeans explored continents and countries in the 1400’s to the 1700’s, this is know as the Age of Exploration. The impact of Europeans on global trade was disease, new crops, and slavery.

One impact Europeans caused was the spread of disease. Document 1 shows the different types of disease, some of them are Smallpox, Malaria, and Whooping Cough. The spread of these diseases made the north american population drop significantly, the same can’t be said for the european population. The european population dropped but not as drastically as the north american population. Document 5 demonstrates how the Aztec’s were affected by Smallpox, a disease brought by the Europeans. The disease had a devastating effect on the Aztec empire. People became so ill that just moving their limbs caused excruciating pain, so much pain that they couldn't even walk. Slavery changed how people lived back then and now. The Europeans bought many slaves and crammed them into a ship to be sent to another continent. Europeans bought slaves from the African and put them into a ship with no space, many africans died on the ship because of the poor conditions. The african population dropped because of constant exportation of people. The slave trade impacted many lives, it made the Europeans lives easier but made the lives of the slaves extremely hard. But because of this dehumanization the lives of the african americans are greatly affected in today's society. After being treated like property the african americans had a rough road to being treated like humans again.

The European exploration had a significant impact on history. The effects were both positive and negative. Some positive impacts that the Europeans caused were the trade of crops and animals. Some negative impacts were the selling of slaves and the spread of
