I am passionate about being an advocate for agriculture because it is important to the future of the agriculture industry because the ag industry touches every person’s life. It does not matter if you work in a grocery store or a clothing factory, you are impacted by the agriculture. The ag industry is so important to the survival and development of the population. We provide essential needs for people and the people that raise these needs get benefits from it too. Also, the ag industry provides so many opportunities for the people who are involved in iit and it gives connections for a better life. Seeing that many places are impacted by agriculture, it is important for people to understand and support the ag industry.
Since it touches all of society, the people need to know and understand why we do the

procedures that we do. We get a bad representation of us from people who have not had the educational opportunities to learn about the different resources we use. Seeing these procedures first hand, I understand why they happen because I grew up with it and it has been second nature to me. I have to stop and realize that most people do not understand how their food gets to them. If a cow can not push or has complications while birth, chains might be used to assist getting the calf out of the birthing canal. The calf and mother could die if the farmer does not step in and use chains. Growing up on a dairy farm, I understand why chains are sometimes used to pull a calf from a mother; however, people not familiar with cattle may find it cruel and inhumane. I find it my duty and other agriculturists to help society understand the procedures we use to grow and raise different products. The agriculture industry does not just provide and help the population.
It provides character building and many memories for the people who are directly involved. Personally, I would not know who I would be or grow up as without the ag industry. The industry taught me responsibility, work ethic, and gave me my passion. The ag industry is not just some projects that last for a month or two. I raise dairy cattle, hogs, and dairy beef to present at my county fair and open shows. It teaches me responsibility to be able to care for these animals and to train them for show. This does not happen overnight. Year round I am in the barn feeding, washing, or getting them to trust me. The work does not come to an end after fair.
Currently, I am baling hay and straw for animals to live comfortably. When I was little, I was for sure I wanted to be a teacher and it tore my heart to think that I would have to give less time to my projects at home when I got older. Being an upcoming Junior in high school, I am one hundred percent certain that I will become an agriculture teacher. I found this as a way to tie in my love for education and still continue my passion for
agriculture. Connections are important in getting out in the real world. The ag industry has helped me come into contact with different colleges and many people to help me with my activities. I have been on the John Glenn Dairy Judging team for the past two years and judged two or three years before that. My father is the coach and we have been to a national competition in the past two years. Being in a national competition at fifteen years old is quite scary. I knew that I would be competing with teams that could potentially consist of seniors that have judged together for four years. Having judged for so long with my father as the coach, it was helpful to hear other ideas from different coaches than just my dad. Judging at different competitions provided me with different resources to contact to assist me in preparing for this competition. I heard many ideas from “just have fun” to “practice two sets of reasons everyday.” Going to that national competition has opened so many doors for me. I am not afraid to talk in front of whomever and I have a good sense of time management. Therefore, I am confident wherever life takes me, because I am prepared and I thank the agriculture industry for that. The agriculture industry has impacted my life in ways that I could not possibly explain. Being raised in this industry, I know it is my duty to inform the people of our great nation about it. I know that being an advocate for agriculture is in my blood and I will love educating the future generations.

...my education at Concord University studying Elementary Education. After graduating with my Bachelors of Science in Education, I plan to get a job as a teacher in an elementary school. I believe that there is a need for compassionate and caring teachers in elementary schools. At such a young age, I believe that it is important for elementary students to have positive role models in their lives. I am very interested in pursuing my Masters Degree at some point, but my main goal is to get out into the school system as a teacher.
I just want to continue viewing our standpoints regarding the negative effect it has on society
Farmers work hard every day to help sustain the lives of billions of people across the world by producing meats, fruits, vegetables, nuts, dairy products, and more. Without these foods, we as humans, would not be able to survive. Our bodies require a certain amount of nutrition to sustain life. Unfortunately, there are many people in our world that don’t get all of the food they need. Many countries do not have fertile farmland or skilled farmers to produce enough food. Therefore, they rely on American farmers to feed their growing populations. Farmers exemplify good stewardship. We as Americans are blessed in this country to have an abundant, healthy, and quality food supply. Farmers use many conservation techniques to protect the land in order to provide food to not only our nation,
Through my own experiences, and as enforced by others' opinions in the profession, I have found that teaching is one of the most rewarding careers. Not only are you placed in the position of instructing and guiding children and young adults through the life long learning process, but you are able to give back to the schools and communities which have supported your early education and experiences that opened you up to a bright future. In becoming an educator, I hope to someday share the knowledge and lend the helping, supportive hand that I was once given, allowing students to formulate their own perspectives of the multicultural society and world around them. Teaching is a career I have been interested in pursuing throughout high school, and as my experiences and study in the field expands, I feel that my desire to teach will grow stronger and develop more soundly.
Daylilies that brighten your day; hydrangeas that inform you of fall’s arrival; rosemaries that fill the air with the most wonderful aroma. These stunning flowers filled the garden I created during the summer of seventh grade, and my life became full of purpose and value. Not only was I propelled into the beautiful world of plants, but gardening helped me to overcome the adversities I was facing in regards to my mental health and self-image. I am sharing my experiences with horticulture with the Admissions Committee at Geisel School of Medicine because this hobby has taught me important aspects about myself and my relationships with those around me, helped me to understand what it means to have passion and love what you do, and provided me with a new perspective of medicine. I believe this contributes to making me a
So overall, Agriculture is playing a very important role in changing the lifestyle of different people. Agriculture might have made everything easy for us but it still has its cons. We see the effects of agriculture and how it affects the lives of other species and the environment.
Our world is growing! Growing in population, that is, but the resources are staying the same. To help with the growth of the population that will be happening in the 21st century, science and agriculture need to work hand-in-hand. They need to stand together to make a break through together, to ensure that everyone has food on their plate. We need to work to have larger yields with the land we have.

It is not difficult to begin a career in the agricultural field, but it is difficult to be successful. Farming is a great job but it requires a lot of hard work. As Weaver previously stated, “I love my job more and more everyday!”
