This paper will give an analysis of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade explaining the challenges and painful afflictions African peoples had to endure. Revealing the constant struggles of the African during the trade and how it correlates with people in present day society. Additionally, the system also established the World economy by utilizing Africans for stock and exchange. The Trans-Atlantic slave trade brought an estimated 12 to 15 million Africans to the United States. Millions of men, women, and children were forced to live in horrible conditions by being held captive by chains and torturous Slave instruments. Most ships would transport 350 captives but some has carried as many as 1,000. Upon loading the vessels, captives were branded and stripped naked of their clothing for the trip. The voyage was traumatizing as captives were bolted down in filth, unbearable heat, and were dehumanized. Many captives died during the passages and their decomposing corpses would be still lying next to their fellow brothers. This unsanitary environment caused the rise of illnesses and deaths of many others. These captives are responsible for the development of the east coast bringing agriculture techniques as they were forced to farm, create plantations and work in mines to establish the World economy. As the institution of slavery become more known throughout the colonies of the United States, Sailors and Slave holders continued to exchange slaves for goods, establishing the market economy as it is known today. The number of African in the United States came from the four zones of the African continent. The majority of the captives came from West-Central Africa in areas of Angola and Congo. The distribution of captives throughout the United States is prevalent based off of languages and cultures in various regions of the world. The Upper South states consisting of North Carolina, Virgina, Maryland, Tennessee, Delaware, Kentucky, Missouri, and West Virgina.
