Throughout time there have been many controversies on what factors create a psychopath. There have been many stories and myths as to what caused an individual to be labeled as a psychopath. While some have argued that biological, social, domestic, and environmental aspects make a psychopath who they are, there is more to it than the naked eye meet. However these factors do not explain the difference between male and female offenders. While sex differences in psychopaths may be looked over, these sex differences range from the number of individuals classified as psychopaths, types of crimes, depth of corruption, and even the victims of these individuals.
According to the website Cassiopaea, “psychopaths cannot be understood in terms of antisocial rearing or development. They are simply morally depraved individuals who represent the "monsters" in our society. They are unstoppable and untreatable predators whose violence is planned, purposeful and emotionless. Their emotionlessness reflects a detached, fearless, and possibly dissociated state, revealing a low-state autonomic nervous system and lack of anxiety. It's difficult to say what motivates them, and or control them since their life history will usually show no long-standing bonds with others” (Cassiopaea.org, 2014). With this being said we can get a small understanding as to why we have psychopaths today.
Most of the time we see male psychopaths stories in the news and females once in a blue moon. Reasoning being is that there are typically more males than females. The presentation of psychopaths is different in women.
