Human beings live on production of agriculture and aquaculture. However, due to the increase of human population, the need of food production has become a problem. We are more starving for food to eat than any time before, so we need more land to plant grains, hope those product can grow as fast as possible. We put lot of products in a small area to have more profit. However, there are also a lot of problems caused by these process. Lots of disadvantages are caused at the same time on both agriculture and aquaculture, such as, deforestation, erosion, desertification in Agriculture and Injection problems in fish farming. They destroy a piece of forests in one year to have some places to grow their food and let the cattle and horses have grass to graze. People use this area for about half or one entire decade. And then, they move to another place with forest and repeat the whole process. During this period, the area which has been abounded will grow new trees again themselves. Since the ash after burning the forest can be considered as a type of useful fertilize, native are willing to practice this kind of easy lifestyle. When the tribe come back to the place they begin with, it has been covered by woods again. Nowadays deforestation is the one of the most important and controversial environmental issues in the world. Deforestation is cutting down, clearing away or burning trees or forests. Particularly tropical rainforests are the most waning type of forests because of its location in developing countries such as Indonesia, the Philippines, India, central African countries and Brazil. Deforestation rate in those regions is high enough to worry about, because of large economic potential of forest areas. As the result of causes such as agriculture land expansion, logging for timber, fire blazing and settling infrastructure there might be serious impacts in future. For instance, extinction of endemic species of animals and plants which will be feral, increase of greenhouse gas emissions which may lead to global warming and consecutive catastrophes, destruction of home for indigenous residents which is considered as violation of human rights. Some people can argue with these drawbacks telling that deforestation have more valuable benefits such as growth of economics, production of food and providing better opportunities for life for poor families. However, these benefits are quite temporary and government of that countries and world organisations tries to halt deforestation proposing several solutions. In order for us to maintain our lives, we need to consume food to supply nutrient-needs for our bodies. As the global population increased, the demand for food also increased. Increased population led to mass production of foods. However, even with this mass production, in under-developed countries, people are still undernourished. On other hand, in developed and developing countries, people are overfed and suffering from obesity. In addition, the current methods of industrial farming destroy the environment. These problems raised a question to our global food system. Will it be able to sustain our increasing global population and the earth? With this question in my mind, I decided to investigate the sustainability of our current global food system.
The social and moral implications of diminishing rainforest biodiversity are great. From a human welfare perspective, the livelihoods of tens of millions of indigenous peoples depend on the forests, but thousands are being pushed out of their homes because they lack the shelter and support that the forest once gave them (Salim 3). These groups have "developed knowledge and cultures in accordance with their environment through thousands of years, and even physically they are adapted to the life in the forest" (Nyborg). For many of the people living in these areas, the forest is the only resource they have providing them with food, shelter and cultural ties. With the invasion and destruction of their homeland, rainforest peoples are also disappearing.
Our ecosystem provides free services like water supply, waste treatment and detoxification, water purification, natural hazard protection, regulation of air quality, regulation of regional and local climate, regulation of erosion, spiritual fulfillment, and aesthetic enjoyment. We live off of these services and often use them at a rate too high for replenishing. The usage of fisheries and fresh water has reached a stage that surpasses sustainability. Fisheries are being overharvested to meet the demands of the growing population and we’re overdrafting the groundwater supplies. The main idea is that if we continue to use our resources at such high rates, soon we will have nothing left for future generations.

It involves gathering freshwater and saltwater populations under controlled settings, and can be compared with commercial fishing, which is the harvesting of wild fish. Farming implies some form of involvement in the nurturing process to enhance production, such as regular stocking, feeding, and protection from predators. It also implies individual or business ownership of the stock being gathered. The reported output from global aquaculture operations would supply one half of the fish and shellfish that is directly consumed by humans.
