I am a recent graduate of Cornerstone University, with a Bachelor degree in Psychology. Although, my experience is in administrative (Medical), my passion is helping children find loving and caring families. Catholic Charities of West Michigan’s reputation for putting children first and my personal experience, having placed an infant for adoption nearly 28 years ago, would be beneficial to your organization. In addition, to my strong work ethic, impeccable attention to detail, and
I value words as more than mechanisms of communication, but as depictions of one’s character. The words: determination, caring, compassion, goal oriented, and resilience accurately depict my character. I am very kind hearted and caring individual who will go out of my way to help people in need with no expectations of reciprocation. I keep at a problem until it’s solved and do what is necessary to complete all tasks. My knowledge and skill set as a Pediatric Registered Nurse can contribute to Junior League’s focus on children’s welfare and education. Unfortunately at my work, I come across too many incidents of children requiring foster care due to inadequate parenting. I see a huge need for organizations, like Junior League, to raise awareness and funding for these children to give them a life they
When I heard the clicks of heels in the hallway, I sat up attentively on the waiting couch. A pleasant looking woman came to greet me. She was in her mid fifties and introduced herself as Celeste Drury. She worked with the children home society, an adoption agency that is located in Oakland. I found Celeste through a family friend. The family friend knew my interest in learning about adoption and the criteria used for adoption processes. I was excited to meet Celeste and to learn about what she did. Settling in my chair, Celeste slightly cheered me. Celeste orphanage was licensed under the adoption agencies act. It has been in existence for many years. Children home society is in charge of providing adoption services in the entire state of California. I asked Celeste of its role and she said that it “helps parents to make informed decisions about their children, and also give tips on the adoptive parents” (Drury).
It was a shock. The pediatric psychiatrist diagnosed me with a novel maladaptive behavior syndrome known as attention deficit disorder (ADD). My condition has notably hindered my ability to concentrate, organize, and execute both in the classroom and within social spheres. However, I have tried to meet the challenges posed by this mysterious syndrome through a number of approaches. Although they have been arduous, I have improved my control over the consequences of this disorder.
Let me start with the fact that Mac is lonely. He whines all the time, you even say so yourself. Well, that is simply because, as www.dogbreed.info.com puts it, dogs are pack animals, meaning they have an instinct to live among a group. It is not natural for dogs to be alone and it can sometimes be hard for them to accept it. Yes, I’ve done my research. It would be such a help to animals if we adopted them. If we did this, we would also benefit. I have a list of the steps you need to take to complete an adoption at EDCR.
Helping children and families through mentorship and guidance has been extremely fulfilling for me. Completing my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy will strengthen my ability to make a significant impact on people’s lives. I would especially like to provide services to rural areas where support may not be available or limited. Through a strong education, vast life experience and excellent training I will be better prepared to assist individuals and families achieve their highest
The MSW degree along with my bachelors in psychology gives me a great opportunity to build my career as a social worker who will strive to act as a leader and empower others to help those in need. When I have gained efficient experience and expertise in my role as a social worker, I want to educate others on child welfare and family violence. Sharing knowledge and educating is a boundless way to make an impact and promote resilience within the
Having spent the last two years working as a volunteer in the social service field, I have come to realize that my passion lies in helping people, who are in a position of less advantaged. With a view to accomplish my ambition to become a social worker I am currently taking an access to a master degree of social work.
I hope this letter finds you well. I just wanted to thank you for giving an opportunity to be adopted. I know it was not your plan to set heartache and pain in my life. Also, I want to thank you for giving me an opportunity in a lifetime to become more than what you ever were. I now realize that many times that when any painful memories came it was because of you.
I plan to seize this immense educational opportunity with intellectual curiosity and maintain a high grade point average as I have done throughout the four years of my high school education of numerous honor courses in order to attain the knowledge to implement an organization to provide a positive learning environment for young children with special emotional, educational and financial needs. Using the knowledge I earn from a college degree, I plan to create a positive learning environment for underprivileged school children who would not normally receive a quality education and aspire to assist these children in creating lifelong educational, organizational, and social skills to overcome the boundaries of their economic situation and lifestyle.
“Adopting one child won 't change the world: but for that child, the world will change.” (Unknown)(Buzzle.com). Adoption can take place in multiple shapes, forms, and fashions. You can adopt from a local adoption agency, or adopt from an orphanage half way around the world. You can adopt a child whose parents are no longer living, or you could adopt from a young mother who is not ready to raise a child. You can adopt one child who has touched your heart from an orphanage in Uganda, or a set of triplets being moved around from house to house in foster care. There are still further motivations and reasons for adopting. What if you and your spouse are unable to become pregnant? The desire to be parents does not diminish with the lack of

The prospect of giving your baby up for adoption can put you through emotional turmoil; however, if, ultimately, it's the best decision to be made, that's the tough choice you're going to have to face. First, though, go through the list of following 10 questions. Since this is such a major decision and one which affects many people, you really need to know you're doing the right thing.
Do you know what Steve Jobs, Gerald Ford, and Jesse Jackson have in common? These famous characters of history, all share the same facet of being adopted. Even though these well-renowned people have been adopted, they were not the first ones to be so. The history of adoption has been present since the Biblical era. As a matter of fact, the Bible states in James 1:27, “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. (JMS, 1:27)” As a result of the verse from James, adoption still contributes to many people’s happiness today. Adoption is beneficial to the adoptive family, birth mothers, and adopted children.
As I have work with foster parents and foster kids, I have learned that many children have to adopt the new ways of their foster parents. One of the foster parents I work with does not believed in Halloween and does not allow their foster children to dress as anything or even take them to trick or treating. Two of the older children who are with this family were really upset that they were not able to celebrate Halloween, and were telling everyone around them how their foster parents did not believe in Halloween. I was not sure how to approached to this situation with the children. I did try to explain to them how they should respect other people beliefs, and how important it is. I did talk to the foster parents about how the children were feeling about the situation.
