Chapter One: Teen Activism
Teen activism is someone who has a passion and who works hard to achieve something. For example ¨when the whole world is silent even one voice becomes powerful¨, -Malala. In this book I will be talking about: teen activism, life of iqbal, how to stop child labor. effects of child labor, iqbal escapes, changes the world and finally iqbal's last breathe.
For example, Malala wants girls to have education. Another example is Alex lynn he recycled 20,000 pounds of electrons. Also Faye Carry, she rescued dogs. As malala wanted education when she was still in recovery. Also alex lynn said he went to the town council got petitions signed and returned back in 2006. Lastly Faye Carry set up a face book page when she advertised dogs and puppies for adoption.

Many teen activist become inspired by something or someone. One of the ways of trying to figure out what you like doing and you would enjoy doing it. Don't pick something that you don't like pick something that will make you feel good
The uniform debase handing iqbal other children to his employer to get money as a reward. Once iqbal's charger found out that iqbal escaped it caused severe punishment stating, horrific beating sessions an starvation. These punishments for a young boy seemed to be unending. Iqbal started back at the bottom but slowly rising to the top again, he planned his next escape yet again another attempt. Throughout other parts of the world, there are diverse cultures and customs that is foreign to what one is used to. However, some are beginning to yearn for change toward their culture for the good of their future. Such as a young Pakistani girl named, Malala Yousafzai who lived in Swat Valley. She chose to step up against her traditions of many not getting education equality by doing the contrary and persuaded others to join her in the revolt by, writing a novel known as, I Am Malala. She influences her wide variety of audiences by her serious and thankful tone and diction, vivid imagery, and the use of the theme, Struggle for one’s rights.
Teen activists are inspiring and helpful. They are the ones who are determined to make a difference in the world. They are the ones who never give up on their dreams and hopes. Through their thoughts, sacrifice, determination, and their inspiring heart, they make the world happy, so everyone can live equally. Three teen activists, Malala Yousafzai, Alex Lin, and Iqbal Masih, use their personalities and inspiration so that they can stop unfair education, pollution, and child labor. They are willing to sacrifice to help the world and change history.
Therefore, we must let others around the world know about the rights teens should have at home. We solemnly declare that teens should have the right to be free and be able to decide what chores to do around the house. For the support of our declaration, we pledge our lives, honor, and all that we
All of my life I have considered myself as a person who loves children. I enjoy playing with them, helping them, and just being around them. So when I first agreed with corporations who use child labor I shocked myself completely. After examining two articles; one “The Case for Sweatshops”, by David R. Henderson, and two “Sweatshops or a Shot at a Better Life”, by Cathy Young, I came to the conclusion that in some cases when young children work under proper conditions it can keep them out of the streets and be helpful to them and their families.
2011). Some research suggests that the recent prevalence of targeted youth work is further stigmatizing the young people involved (Scanlon et al 2011; Jenkinson 2013). It is the role of the youth worker to challenge these negative agreements, to help young people find their truth. Rogers (1980) and Ruiz (2012) describe a process where a person, e.g. youth worker, values the significance and worth of another person. Through this acceptance the young person will begin to adopt a similar attitude and they will experience a rise in self-worth. Thus, they create a new agreement, that they are worthy of being valued and cared for.
Throughout time children have worked myriad hours in hazardous workplaces in order to make a few cents to a few dollars. This is known as child labor, where children are risking their lives daily for money. Today child labor continues to exist all over the world and even in the United States where children pick fruits and vegetables in difficult conditions. According to the article, “What is Child Labor”; it states that roughly 215 million children around the world are working between the ages of 5 and 17 in harmful workplaces. Child labor continues to exist because many families live in poverty and with more working hands there is an increase in income. Other families take their children to work in the fields because they have no access to childcare and extra money is beneficial to buy basic needs. Although there are laws and regulations that protect children from child labor, stronger enforcement is required because child labor not only exploits children but also has detrimental effects on a child’s health, education, and the people of the nation.
“Her primary cause – securing Pakistani girls’ access to education” Education was hard especially for females and Malala helped change that even if she would have to face consequences to which she did. “Malala has become perhaps the worlds most admired children’s-rights advocate, all the more powerful for being a child herself.” At only 14 years old, mala stood up for the females and even got shot, and then survived which helped make it the big cause that it was. Malala Yousafzai’s actions in Pakistan went worldwide to get the support and followers to be the leader she is still to this
Mindfulness meditation is a growth of person`s perception at the present time and some people think is a unique way to overcome anxiety and discover greater wisdom in our minds. A person who practices this meditation tries to get rid of any unwanted thoughts, concentrate on present ones, focus on attention and breathing. Some contemporary psychotherapists suggest that we can train our mind by practicing mindfulness meditation. Often almost all people catch themselves on thoughts that transfers from the present to the past and future. This is called mind wandering. This can be very distracting when a person tries to focus on certain task. Naturally, people who experience less mind wandering demonstrated greater mindfulness, and previous studies showed that practicing mindfulness meditation even for eight minutes can increase and mind wandering will decrease (Hafenbrack, 2013).
Adolescents are known for, or rather stereotyped as, having rebellious tendencies. These tendencies are explored in films, novels, television shows, and even studies conducted by professors and researchers worldwide. Teenage angst has been a major source of discussion for before 1595 with the publication of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Rebel Without a Cause, released in 1955, exemplifies this topic being discussed in a manner that is relatable to a wide array of teenagers. Exploring this issue while also making it relatable to adolescents rather than simply a criticism of their personalities is an admirable feat, one that Rebel Without a Cause accomplishes by making use of several techniques.
