The principle of Academic writing is to extort one central point, where the supporting factors are consistent with the main argument. The ideas used within an academic style writing piece consists of a strict concept, this contains a clear objective to inform the reader of a precise and elaborate composition. The importance of this is to test one's skills as it challenges creativity and critical thinking. Within a scholarly text, APA format is a common style that structures the writing in a way which allows a writer to organize information that enables the reader to find facts provided in an effective way and an efficient way by highlighting its main ideas.

This type of documentation style is used to cite sources within the social sciences, along with nursing and business. It contains four major sections, that consists of a title page, an abstract, the main body, and references. The use of the references page highlights the importance of APA style, this allows both the writer and reader to acknowledge the work of other writers along with their research. The use of secondary information that provides a more reliable and efficient piece of writing. A responsible writer will correctly cite their sources into a reference list to avoid the risk of plagiarism. This includes the author, date, title, and URL. The application of the reference page and citation provides a specific area where one can go for an additional resource which lets the use of secondary information to strengthen their text. The importance of becoming more familiar with the writing to distinguish if it is published by a reputable publisher or not is crucial. Using a credible source is important as it informs the reader that the person who wrote it is viable. This way the research paper will be supported by evidence that distributes a solid idea throughout the writing
