Recommended: How can children's development be affected
Close your eyes, close them tightly, and imagine that someone, who doesn’t know anything about you, makes an abrupt and arbitrary decision to end your life , because it is convenient for them. Now imagine that, happened to your children or husband, how much different would your life be? That is what 3,288 potential human’s are facing every day. Abortion - unless the pregnancy is in direct danger to the mother's health- is cruel and should be illegal! It is indirect murder, and it affects more than just you. While some argue that it is the mother's body and she has a right to do, or not do whatever she wants with it.
Abortion is indirect murder. Most women learn they are pregnant roughly about two to three months after getting pregnant, that they are pregnant . While there is no evidence that there are no signs of life until ten weeks, in the pregnancy. So figure a women learned that she is pregnant nine weeks after getting pregnant, the scheduled an abortion the next day and the pregnancy is terminated before ten weeks. However as I have stated previously, three thousand two hundred and twenty-two abortions are performed everyday. Lets call the children who never got a chance to live “Would-be-babies”. Non average half of every pregnancy ends in miscarriage. So now the count of “Would be Babies” has dropped from, 3,288 to 1644. I will be fair, one in every 160 pregnancy end in a stillbirth, divide 1644 by 160 you get ten. So in that “would be babies” statistically 1,634 babies are murdered out of that 3,288. Who knows what that 1,634 could have done? Could they have cured cancer? Could they have been the best president with one hundred percent approval rating and get America back to where it is meant to be. We will n...

How would you feel if someone took away your ability to live and have a future? You wouldn't have the opportunity to crawl, take your first step, have your first kiss, or experience those butterflies in your stomach at the sight of first love. Millions of special moments, a life, shredded to pieces. This is essentially what abortion does. Abortion is not the answer in the case of an unplanned pregnancy and needs to be stopped! First of all, abortion is a type of unnecessary murder that occurs in inhumane ways and cannot be tolerated. Moreover, there are alternatives to abortion and many families who are looking to adopt. Lastly, the side effects of abortion can cause life threatening health risks to the mother. Excuses will always be made, but the bottom line is that abortion is not acceptable and should be stopped.
In America abortion is one of the most heavily debated topics in recent years. Pro-life or pro-choice? Many people believe it is immoral and even consider abortion to be murder. The definition of abortion states “The termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of normal growth” Did you know that 1 in 3 women in the U.S. will have an abortion in their lifetime? (Baker, Aspen. "A Better Way to Talk about Abortion." Aspen Baker:. N.p., n.d. Web. 25 Aug. 2016.) When first researching this topic I wondered, “What’s the big deal? Why would it matter if someone who was never even born, died?” And I realized that babies that would have been born due to abortion,
Abortion, which is defined as a deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, is one of the most controversial issues in society. Many people believe that abortion is unethical and morally wrong, while others believe that it is a woman’s right to decide what to do with her body. According to www.census.gov, “the number of abortions performed annually in the U.S. has leveled off at 1.2 million a year” (1). This statistic supports how many women are choosing abortion. Although abortion is legal in the United States, many people continue to voice their opinions on how it is a human rights violation and should be illegal everywhere. The practice of abortion should be banned in society because it terminates the life of an innocent unborn child, causes long-term emotional effects, as well as major health risks for women who opt for abortion.
Abortion has been the biggest controversy of all time. Many people believe that it is morally okay and not murder just because it is legal. Individuals never think about how it would make them feel if someone took away their ability to live, grow, and become someone. They do not envision not being able to have any say in whether or not they want to have a life. Well, babies do not have an option in the womb. If the woman decides to abort her baby, they can do nothing about their life being taken right out of their hands. Their whole future is destroyed with no chances of going back on the mother’s decision. I believe abortion is wrong when having it for a selfish reason. I am arguing that Abortion is wrong, although not to be misguided with ‘Abortion should be prohibited.’ Abortion is wrong in terms of an unplanned pregnancy, disability diagnosis, adolescent pregnancy, or contraceptives and birth control not working right that month.
The baby in the womb can feel pain around 16 weeks into the pregnancy. To begin, a woman can “ have a surgical abortion...up to 22 weeks” (...). By this time the baby can already feel pain, and has a heartbeat at 5 weeks, the baby is a human once the egg connects to the sperm. The baby is not just a simple organism anymore, the baby has a heartbeat and is practicing breathing. Abortion is the same as murder, just because the child can stop it or have anything to say about it doesn 't change what it is. Just because the baby cannot live on it’s own does not mean the baby is not living. The baby may not be able to function on its own, but it is already developing. For instance, at three months the baby’s “unique fingerprints are now in place” (...). The baby is developing bone structure and even fingerprints. The baby is quickly developing a self identity, the baby is a growing human being just like us. There are other options for the mother if she cannot take care of the child. For instance, in the united states alone “Infertility affects approximately 6.7 million women in the United States” (...). If every baby that was aborted was given up for adoption instead, a woman could have a child to care for and love unconditionally. This way the baby at least gets a chance to live its life rather than having it taken so early. It is illegal
Abortion has been one of the biggest controversies of all time. According to the Oxford dictionary, the term abortion can be defined as, the deliberate termination of human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. There are two different types of abortion; a spontaneous abortion, which is also known as a miscarriage, and an induced abortion, where the embryo or fetus is purposely removed from the women’s body. The topic of induced abortion has been widely debated for hundreds of years. The issue of abortion was argued way back in the time of the ancient Hebrews. Today many people consider abortion to be murder, but shouldn’t the soon-to-be mother 's right to make such a personal and heartbreaking choice be
On average, about 1.21 million abortions are executed annually from unintended pregnancies. Many people believe that a woman should have the choice to abort the life that she created. But they do not take into consideration that the word unintended essentially means accidental. Most people do not look ahead before they do something. Why should a baby’s choice of life be taken away when they did not have the choice to be created. It wasn’t their mistake that they were created. Once life is established, it should not be destroyed. Abortion should be illegal because it is a form of murder, there are lots of alternatives to abortion and many ways to prevent pregnancy, and because a woman’s physical and psychological health can be damaged in and after the process.
The same newspapers report “a rate of 5.2 per thousand hospitalizations for psychiatric problems” for women who finalized an abortion procedure ("The physical and mental consequences of abortion on women's health”).
Today many people ask the question, does abortion have severe psychological effects? People that are pro-life claim that most women who abort their unborn child suffer from many negative effects, such as guilty feelings, anxiety, depression, loss, anger and even suicide. In one case a woman had an abortion assuming that it would take away all of the stress of being pregnant and thinking about the consequences of having a child. Afterwards she said, “I was unprepared for the maze of emotions that hit me after I had the procedure. Instead of feeling relieved, I was awash in anxiety and confusion” (Lawlor, 2002, par.3). The disorder of having negative effects after an abortion is called Post Abortion Syndrome or PAS. In order to tell if a woman has PAS she has to be completely honest with herself and admit the feelings that she has. The symptoms that most women have are strong feelings of guilt and confusion. Some cases are much more extreme, for example, there was a seventeen year old who developed lethargy, malaise, and vomiting. Doctors where unable to reach a conclusion about her condition until the anniversary of her abortion when she experienced overt psychosis. Mental examinations also revealed signs of hallucinations, as well as psychotic thought processes. Research has shown that in most cases women will go on and say they are fine about the whole thing, and many years later be ...
Abortion is defined as the termination of a pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo, causing or resulting in its death. A longtime political, social, and moral issue, abortion has been front-page news in the United States for generations. At first it was a pseudoscientific procedure that was as dangerous as it was successful. Later it transformed into a secretive method of correcting mistaken pregnancies. Today, it is a carefully executed, and sometimes appropriate method of saving a life. Yes, abortions save lives. The public at large has a tendency to quickly judge abortions, however they positives outweigh the negatives in this procedure, and we as a people must push to make this an option for anyone.
Many do not understand the abortion in today 's society. Dozens of human lives are being thrown away. Abortion is wrong because fetuses feel pain, life begins at conception, Abortion is murder, Abortions reduce the number of and adoptable babies, and Selective abortion based on genetic abnormalities is discrimination.
Abortion is a medical procedure to end a pregnancy. It has become one of the most controversial issues out there. Many people have strong feelings and beliefs for or against it. There are also people on both sides, in my case I am against abortion and for the rest of my life will. Abortion is murder, a killing of an innocent human beings unable to make decisions for themselves. Life begins at conception, and for that reason unborn babies are human beings with the right to live. An unborn baby is capable of feeling pain so they feel an enormous pain during the abortion procedure. In addition, abortion is an extremely dangerous procedure that has many risks. Why would you take away someone’s life when there are many options to
Before I get more into the subject of abortion, you must first understand what exactly abortion is, and how it is defined. An abortion is a procedure to end pregnancy. (1) It typically is a surgery that removes the embryo or fetus and the placenta from the uterus. (1) This procedure is done by a licensed health care professional. (1) Now while abortion is defined as terminating the pregnancy, if the pregnancy happens to end itself then it is known as a miscarriage. (4) Now that we know more about what abortion is, why is such a big debate in today’s society? Well, unfortunately, abortions have become increasing popular with women in today’s society. Women tend to choose the option of abortion when they have an unwanted pregnancy, whether it was by accident or the family just did not want another baby. There are many other reasons for why women choose abortion, they include: rape, age, amount of income, and health. Aside from this, abortion is currently legal in the United States although different states have different regulations. Abortion has been l...
There are so many different viewpoints on abortion, it isn’t even funny. Someone could say that abortion is morally acceptable because a woman was raped or the pregnancy could interfere with her health. Other people might say that it is murder and immorally unacceptable because the child obviously does not have a say in the abortion. The problem with abortions is that there is no real conclusion to the problem, whether it is legal or illegal. And this argument is only getting worse and worse.
First, I feel that abortion should be illegal because it can result in medical complications and also psychological trauma. It can cause premature birth and could also cause a baby to be handicapped in future pregnancies. A woman who has had an abortion is 2.3 times more likely to get cervical, ovarian, and or liver cancer. Abortion is the cause of 47,000 woman’s death yearly. It can cause depression for at
