Many people agree that abortion should remain legal in the United States. Abortion was not always legal in all states. In 1973, the United States Supreme Court declared abortion to be a “fundamental right” guaranteed by the United States Constitution (“Abortion ProCon.org”). Although abortion is consider a right, “the killing of an innocent human being is wrong, even if that human being has yet to be born” (“Abortion ProCon.org”).Unborn babies are considered human beings by the Unites States government. Therefore abortion is murder, the deliberate termination of human life. It is true that living as a United States citizen comes with all the rights and freedoms. Many would agree that a woman has the choice to reproduce or not. Reproductive choice empowers women by giving them control over their own bodies. The choice over when and whether to have children is based on a woman's independence and her ability to determine her future (“Abortion ProCon.org”). However, all humans have the right to life. Scientific evidence proves that life begins at conception. Dr. Alfred M. Bongioanni, professor of pediatrics and obstetrics at the University of Pennsylvania, stated:

Murder is the deliberate killing of a human being by another human being. Abortion is murder. It is scientifically proven that life begins at conception and a fetus is developed with a genetic identity like no other. Instead of aborting a child women should look into adoption. Adoption allows the innocent child to live and allows the mother to be free of responsibilities that come with the child. Abortion comes with the risk of not being able to have children ever again.
