Abortion
The right to kill does not exist, and it will never exist, but the right to live does exist. Abortion is the termination of pregnancy. Is the ending of pregnancy so that it doesn’t result in the birth of a child. For some people, abortion isn’t something bad, for others it is, and for me it is a crime. Abortion due to a violation or an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy should not be made because you are allowing to a murder and because you are ending a life that just begun.
Abortion is like a murder. Half the percentage of women to have an abortion are under 25 years. When someone kills a baby, that person is taken to jail, but when the baby is inside the belly people don’t think is a crime. A crime is defined as a voluntary action
to kill or seriously injure a person, and killing a baby inside or outside the belly is the same thing. 95% of all abortions are wanted only for reasons other than physical danger or of sickness("Abortion: the Greatest Crime Against Humanity"). They are always for pregnancy not desired. It is a hypocrisy that we that could have been born, we deny to others this right. When an abort is done, you are ending a life that just begun. When you abort you are finishing with the life of a baby. If you are a victim of a violation and someone ruins your life, you do not have the right to ruin the life of someone else. About 60 % of the abortions are realized in women who have never been married. Psychologists say that an abortion can damage a woman in the form of depression and blame. We all have human rights, and one of them is the right to live. Abortion is not right. Some women say “it’s my body and I can do whatever I want with it.” They are being selfish and they are just thinking about them and not on the baby. People that abort think the fetus is like one of their organs. But although the fetus is inside the body of the mother, it’s not like any organ that can be removed, is another life that is just starting. In conclusion, abortion endangers not only the baby but also the mother. But this seems not afraid to women, because today is worse bring a child into the world than to die or probably never again have the chance to be mothers. The most frightening thing is that most abortions are caused by young women. Abortion is not the solution. There are more solutions that can be done such as giving the baby up for adoption, which is slightly less painful than abort.
As to any argument, there are two opposing sides when it comes to the matter of abortions. These two opposers usually refer to themselves as “pro-life” and “pro choice”. Pro-life supporters maintain that abortion is wrong and pro-choice believe that it is a woman’s freedom to choose her pregnancy decisions. When it comes to the topic of abortions, most of us will readily agree that it’s a woman’s choice to decide what her reproductive decisions are, i.e. pro-choice. Where this agreement usually ends, however, is in the question of whether or not abortion is a fundamental right granted to women by the Constitution. Whereas some are convinced that a fetus is considered alive at conception, usually citing the word of God, others maintain that
One of the most debatable topics even in today’s society is the right to abortion. Some people believe that life starts at conception and that even an unborn child deserves the same legal protections as an adult. Pro-life advocates argue that ending its life is similar to murder (POLS210, n.d.). Mean while, others also known as Pro-Choice believe it begins at birth and that with laws that restrict abortion it gets in the way with the right of a woman to make a decision of what is in her own best interest (U.S. History, n.d.).
Abortion refers to the termination of one’s pregnancy, resulting in the removal of one’s fetus to prevent it from being born. While the concept is simple enough, the crux of the argument lies in the morality of this procedure and whether or not a woman should be allowed to sacrifice a fetus to better her own life. Abortion must continue to be legalized in order to ensure that women have that choice.
Abortions are very selfish and a cruel way to end pregnancy. Abortions wouldn’t be needed if females would take responsibility and either use contraception or own up to their mistakes. Abortion is murder no matter how you look at it and murderers should be punished for their actions. Choose to be pro-life and stand up for the innocent babies that can’t.
An abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. Abortion is and has always been an important matter. Abortion is a growing issue in America because; it affects many people; the women who will have the child, and the men who conceive the unborn fetus. When it comes to the Pro-life v. Pro-choice discussion the controversy approaches when the idea of life is defined. Most religious people are pro-life because they think that life is create the moment that the child is conceived they also believe that the fetus should be protected. While others believe that each women should have the right to decide what happens to her body. Those who believe in pro-life don’t understand that there are reasons why women choice to abort and that abortion can’t be beneficial. If abortions were made illegal it would take the right to choose what happened to her body which would question our rights. If the government was able to force a woman to continue a pregnancy could they force a woman to use contraception or undergo sterilization to prevent pregnancy? These questions seem ridiculous, but if our government can force us to continue pregnancy what else can they do. The fact of the matter is that women deserve to have a choice.
Many also argue that it is a woman 's right to choose whether or not she wants to have a child and no matter what it is her body and nobody else should be concerned with what she decides to do with her body. So now the question still remains should abortion be legal say I will be analyzing this topic in discussing my views on abortion, pro-life, and pro-choice. So what is abortion? Abortion according to Webster dictionary it is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy.
Mother Theresa once said, “If we accept that a mother can kill her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill each other? Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, rather, to use violence to get what they want” (Ward). Ronald Reagan also once stated, “I’ve noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born” (Kurtzman). These widely known Pro-life advocates support the idea that abortion unjustly takes the life of a defenseless human being. The Roe vs. Wade case in 1973 legalized abortion, thus sparking the match to a never ending debate. Pro-life advocates believe that women should not be given the right to an abortion. Giving women the right to an abortion is similar to giving serial killers the right to murder whomever they want. Abortions lead to various health and psychological effects.
Abortion is the termination of pregnancy which translates into the killing of the baby inside of the womb. Abortion is a form of murder; it is a form of murder because the doctors are killing a helpless child inside of the womb. “It seems to me clear as daylight that abortion would be a crime” (Gandhi). In the definition of abortion it uses the phrase “termination of pregnancy”. That phrase means “termination of life”. Abortion is considered murdering because the definition of murder is the unlawful killing of one human being by another. Abortion fits perfectly into that definition and category.
Even though abortion is legal in the United States it should be considered murder. The heart and brain are one of the first things to develop on the newborn baby, which can conclude that the baby has feelings (“Surgical Abortions”). A surgeon and a baby can be equivalent to a mechanic and the car it is working on, it is their job to get the car out and running in one piece. The difference between the car and the baby is that a car comes in parts and can be easily taken apart like most machines. All vehicles have multiple parts to them that can be taken away or can be added to them. But, once a child is taken away, they are gone forever, that specific child can never be brought back into the world unlike a machine such as a car. A single celled organism is considered a life; therefore, an unborn fetus should be considered a life as well. Sometimes, the circumstances surrounding a pregnancy may be tragic. Perhaps the woman was raped and became pregnant, the baby had been diagnosed with a defect, or the woman’s health might be at risk. Accordingly so, making an abortion seem like it may be okay due to those tragic events. However, one tragedy will not answer these problems with another one occurring. Murdering could be easily defined as killing somebody who does not want to be killed, as well as, cannot speak for one selves (Dictionary).
Abortion is one of America’s most controversial subjects. The participants in this debate have fixed beliefs on the matter at hand. On one side of the debate are people who believe in pro- choice. They argue that choice of a woman is more important than an unborn fetus. They point out that an unborn child is not on the same level of importance as the mother. Also, the pro-life group declares that choice is the sole purpose behind their argument. They believe that if a woman cannot chose to abolish a pregnancy, then she looses one of her basic human rights. The other side of the debate is the pro-life group. Their main concern is that the fetus is a person; therefore, having the same human rights as the mother. As a result, when states pass laws that enable abortions, these states are legalizing murder. When considering an individual’s ethics and values, killing is morally wrong. Therefore, the termination of unborn children is wrong, as well. Abortion, the unethical expulsion of an embryo or fetus, in order to purposely end a pregnancy, should be forbidden because human life begins at conception, economics is not a justification for abortion, and an unwanted child does not justify abortion.
Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by the removal or expulsion of a fetus or embryo from the uterus before viability (dictionary.com). Those who disagree with abortion think that this is not right, evil and a form of murder. All of those thoughts are correct: abortion is the act of removing a fetus from the protection of the mother’s uterus. However, is it not the duty of the mother to protect her unborn child? In this day in age, we are still allowing this barbaric method of ending a pregnancy to happen, despite the many alternatives.
Is abortion murder? Murder is defined as "illegal killing with malice aforethought." Abortion fails this definition for two reasons. First, abortion is not illegal, and second, there is no evidence to suggest that expecting mothers feel malice towards their own flesh and blood.
In my argumentative coursework I am arguing that abortion is wrong and not to be mistaken with 'Abortion should be made illegal.' I will explain later why I have made this statement. Abortion is the termination of an unborn child in its mother's womb for up to twenty four weeks of the pregnancy or in special circumstances e.g. Disability diagnosis a termination right up until the mother goes in to labour. I think the above definition is an easier and less harsh way of saying that abortion is the murdering of a human being. There are several reasons why abortion is legal and several reasons why it shouldn?t be.
Is there really a difference between abortion and murder? If a doctor killed a child one minute after it was born it would be murder, but if a doctor killed a child one minute before the child was born it would be the mothers choice. 52% of abortions occur before the 9th week of pregnancy, 25% happen between the 9th & 10th week, 12% happen between the 11th and 12th week, 6% happen between the 13th & 15th week, 4% happen between the 16th & 20th week, and 1% of all abortions happen after the 20th week of pregnancy. (The Alan Guttmacher Institute.) You could have a baby that's born at week 22 and still have a 15% chance of living. (Siegel, Reva) If the mothers didn't want the babies she could have always put them up for adoption.
Abortion is referred as the termination of a pregnancy or of a fetus that is incapable of survival (Dictionary.com). Abortion is morally wrong and illegal because the fetus is a person. It is the same thing as murder. The reasons people have abortions are they are not ready to handle the responsibility of another human being, the fetus may have a birth defect, mother’s heath is an issue, rape, or simply because they don’t want any more children (Abortioninfo). The majority of people that have abortions are teenagers. Abortion is flat out wrong and should be banned. Being that abortion is immoral no matter the circumstances, justifies the need for a law to make it illegal.
