To begin with Abigail and I have been bestfriends since Pre-K. We were like two peas in a pod. From the first time we encountered one another our friendship became solid. However, like in any friendships or relationships there will be times when you dont see eye to eye. I guess this was one of those times. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was late for school because it was raining cats and dogs outside and my mom isnt the best rainy driver. By time I got into class Abigail was already there, as was Becca. My heart dropped when I saw that Becca was sitting in my seat. Abigail never let anyone sit there, why Becca of all people? Every since Becca came to Leavelle she had been a brick wall between us. Everytime I tried to talk to Abby, Becca was there standing right beside her. I guess you can say I was a little jealous, okay maybe a lot jealous. The minute hand on the clock moved as slow as a snail that class period. I had to fix myself every five minutes because the chair I was forced to sit in kept on stabbing me in the side. Becca seemed to find it …show more content…
Instead Becca was talking to the new boy, Abby was sitting at her desk alone. My teacher welcomed me back, as I made my way back to my desk. Abigail looked at me and smiled, she said she had missed me. I asked her what happened to Becca, her face turned red as she looked at me. “Becca started spreading terrible rumors”, she told me. “Even worste then before, it was my fault in the first place I shouldnt have agreed.” She apologized and hugged me, she told me she missed her bestfriend. We went back to being close maybe closer, sadly I eventually ended up moving. We stayed close friends, but also made new friends. I still talk to her about everything, we meet up sometimes. She was my first bestfriend, we always had our little aruguments. True friends overcome the biggest of obstacles, im happy to have overcame
In act I, we find out that John Proctor cheated on his wife Elizabeth with Abigail Williams. In the dialogue between Abigail and John, Abigail tries to seduce John, however he resists the temptation and tells Abigail that he never should have slept with her and he will never do it again. One of the worst choices I have made and I wish I could go back and change was when I told my mother that I wanted to go to the movies with some friends. What she didn’t know was that in addition to seeing my friends I was also planning to meet up with my secret “boyfriend.” The plans were canceled before my mom found out about my secret motivation; however, she was still very upset with me. I lost her trust for a long time: she was so upset with me.
Abigail in the Crucible Act 1 Within the Crucible, there lies a complex story involving the accounts and happenings surrounding the 1692 Salem witch trials in Salem, Massachusetts. Act 1 of the Crucible sets up the unfolding of events which lead to witch accusations and increasing superstition among the puritan community. The Crucible reveals the intriguing and malicious character of Abigail Williams to be a manipulative and unabashed liar, who possesses the remarkable quality of self preservation even among what seem to be insurmountable odds. The character of Abigail Williams demonstrates domineering behavior throughout the act in such events as Abigail’s threatening the girls to remain silent regarding events in the forest, Abigail’s attempts of seducing John Proctor,
Have you ever blamed someone for something they never did? In the play written by Arthur Miller, The Crucible, Abigail Williams accuses many people of witchcraft which eventually leads to the death of twenty innocent people. Ever since she is caught dancing in the woods at the beginning of the play, Abigail and her friends have been trying to disguise their mistakes by blaming others for “being with the devil.” By the end of the play, Abigail is responsible for the death of many people because of the flaws she had which led her to make poor decisions. Abigail’s decisions lead her to put many lives in the town of Salem in jeopardy. Her flaws, consisting of selfishness, anger, and cowardice, ultimately lead to her downfall which results
How Arthur Miller Establishes the Character and Motivation of Abigail Williams in Act One and How She is Not to be Trusted
Abigail Adams was the wife of the 1st Vice President John Adams and the mother of the 6th President John Quincy Adams. She lived from 1744 to 1818 and for most of her life lived in Braintree, Massachusetts. The author of this biography wanted to bring Abigail Adams out from under the shadow of her husband John Adams. I think that Charles W. Akers was in fact successful in defending his thesis.
It seemed as if her daily goal was to make the people around her feel unintelligent when she used words I never even knew existed. Based on the way she always looked put together with the perfect outfit and matching accessories any outsider could see that she cared about her appearance and what people thought of her. I didn't think we would ever have a conversation let alone become best friends because she seemed snobby and childish when I first noticed her. The first time I acknowledged her and really paid attention was during freshman year when everyone was talking while waiting for the teacher to come in. As I started listening to the conversations around me there was one that was a little more noticeable as Amanda’s voice raised slightly higher than the others around me. From what I could tell they were comparing their Geometry homework and the answers they had were obviously different. You could tell Amanda was frustrated as she kept tapping her foot and rubbing her temple, but I suppose the other girl just wasn't listening. Eventually it seemed as if Amanda gave up and let the argument drop but later when the teacher came in I realized that wasn't the case as she approached the teacher and asked who was right. Once the teacher confirmed that Amanda was indeed correct she held her head high and said "I told you so" to the other girl and her face turned an intense shade
In the Crucible there are many shameful characters, but for me the most shameful is Abigail. I find two reasons that Abigail is the most shameful character because she got all of her friends to perform cruel rituals with her in the forest, and to top all that her and her friends all lied about not doing this cruel ritual and put other people's lives in jeopardy.
Abigail’s motive for confessing and accusing people of witchcraft is to avoid gain power in the room, and possibly to avoid getting killed. Tituba earlier admitted to being acquainted with the devil and names some people that she saw with the devil. After that, it is stated that Tituba is blessed by God. Then, Abigail stands up from her seat and confesses herself as well by yelling out names that she saw with the devil. She wants it to be known that she is a threat to the people. A consequence of this could be that she could have been hanged for admitting being with the devil, whereas Tituba only witnesses rather than actually being part of the devil’s actions like Abigail says. If Abigail had not said this, it is possible that she could have

I was joined by an old friend and she was my whole world. She became my best friend, but recently she wasn't being very nice. She ignored me a lot and interrupted me when I was talking to another friend. I didn't know what was going on at home with her and maybe I wasn't being the nicest, but I did know that I was upset. However this was one of those things that is only for a couple of weeks. We got out of our funk and everything is fine between us
I remember it as clear as day. It had been a fairly normal week, and a routine average day. It was a Friday and I was driving home from school in my trusty Toyota Tercel. I was getting into the dreaded mental set of the game that I would be playing in that night. I had to play in the band at halftime and it was the first performance of the season. The whole ride to my house I thought about the game and hoped and prayed that we wouldn't make huge fools of ourselves. Before I knew it, I was already home. I remember thinking that it felt like the shortest drive ever, getting to beautiful Rolling Oaks. When I got home, little did I know, that there would be a huge surprise waiting for me that would change my life forever.
But I did hide some things from her because I was unsure of how she would view me. Which really proved that I didn’t have enough trust in her as my best friend, I was just really afraid. I openly told her the truth about my own sexuality and that I was in a relationship. I could just tell by her facial expression. She looked really happy for the first part but quickly she shyly looked down when I brought up being in a relationship. I pictured her having thoughts such as, ‘I’m too late! Liz already has someone!’ Maybe I was being hopeful that she would have feelings for me but my thoughts were confirmed correct when I asked her about this exact moment later along the years. She smiled brightly at me, covering up her disappointment, expressing how happy she was for me. That day we resumed our day during the trip, enjoying ourselves while knowing that we created a stronger bond in our
My friendship with Brittney initiated in high school sophomore year. My friend Marysol introduced me to Brittney when she invited me to sit with her friends. At first we would say hi to each other and eat together. As time past, we began to talk about our background, culture, values, and beliefs, which would be considered exploration stage. We would have small talks to learn about each other. I would also observe how she would she react to other people to learn what I should say or not say. Furthermore, our friendship was at the intensification stage. Brittney would call me “sweetie pie” and we would joke around. Additionally, senior year I joined the tennis team with her. We were good school friends. However, when we graduated from high school, our friendship declined. We did not talk anymore at all. We both went our separate ways.
Throughout most of my life I have gained friendships and relationships with others that have turned into long term, but others which only lasted a short while. The friendship that has greatly impacted my life significantly over the last eight years is someone who means so much to me. This meaningful friendship all started back when I was in middle school, which has grown stronger over the years. I met Brooke in middle school because we had some of the same classes and were in homeroom together. Our friendship developed quickly and lasted throughout our high school years. We became really close our Junior and Senior year of high school. But, maintaining our friendship hasn’t always been so easy. Today, we text and call each other on our free time, but I know I can count and rely on her when I need someone to talk too. I call her my second sister and vice versa. And when we go home on breaks we see one another as much as we can. The best part of our relationship is that if one is in need of advice or in need of a shoulder to cry on, we are always there for one another. Keeping in contact is very important in our relationship and communication has played a key role in our relationship.
