In the 21st century, where material objects have more value in our lives, any selfless efforts made are very rare encounters. A living legend and inspiration for others, Abdul Sattar Edhi has made it his life mission to serve the needs of the less fortunate of Pakistan. Edhi has created the well known organization called The Edhi Foundation, which strives to help the less fortunate in Pakistan with services such as baby cradles, burial aid for the many unclaimed bodies, and most importantly running Pakistan’s largest ambulance service.

VII. Counter- Argument→Why is the ambulance the
A. It could be said that the ambulance service that is run by the Edhi Foundation is not the most important service that the organization has to offer, however this is the one service that is fast enough to help others escape danger. In the book, “Half of Two Paisas” there is a quote that explains how efficient this service really is.
1. The people of Karachi say, “ Edhi ambulances get to the scene before the angel of death does.”
2. One time the foundation got a call from the presidential palace stating there was a bomb that had gone off when in reality there was no bomb and they just wanted to see which ambulance service got there faster.
3. “Our ambulances were there in three minutes; the others took over 11 minutes.”

Dr. Paul Farmer’s vocation is providing healthcare to those less fortunate. He medically treats the Haitians for TB. Paul devoted his whole life to helping the Haitians with their healthcare problems and living conditions. He gave them proper medicine and was able to do this through global fundraising and fighting the large pharmaceutical companies. But unfortunately, with this came sacrifice. Paul had to stay in Haiti for months at a time; he was unable to see his wife and kids. Because of this, his wife eventually left him. But Paul was so devoted in his work in Haiti it appeared he did not care about his personal life because Paul’s work was his life. He considered the people of Haiti, which were his patients, his family. He wasn’t paid for his work; money didn’t matter. All the medicine and food he got was paid from various fundraising efforts. Because of this, he still did not receive eno...
She had to watch her father leave her mother, and “the gloomy atmosphere of their once happy home overclouded the morning of [her] life” (187). She had to watch her mother suffer from a heartache that eventually killed her, and was then given a lifelong babysitter. It then seemed that Edward attempted to buy the love of his daughter with the promise of financial stability. It seemed as though he tried to buy his way out of guilt by employing the best educators for his daughter. Despite his efforts, he formed an unhealthy relationship with alcohol and met death after falling from his horse on route to see Xarifa. Because of these ill-fortuned events, Xarifa found herself thrown into a relationship with a man that she might not have otherwise pursued. Similarly, the children of the world today find themselves suffering as a result of their relationship with their parents. How involved a parent is in a child’s life constantly affects the way the child behaves and the actions they take.

Lajoe moved to Horner when she was a young girl with her family of thirteen. The family had been living in a flat above a church that lacked adequate heating and frequently rang of organ music from the church below. Hearing of the newly finshed public housing projects for financially disadvantaged families, LaJoe's parents packed up the family and moved to one of the new buildings. When the family first arrived in their new home, they could not believe their eyes. It looked like a palace. Outside there were yellow flowers and lamp posts. The exterior of the building was made of sturdy, dark-red brick. Inside, the walls were a pristine white, with shiney linoleum floors. A new range and refrigerator awaited in the kitchen. It seemed like a dream to them -- until it all came crashing down.
Based on the data from Hospital Compare two of the measures that need some improvement are the patient experience and timely effective care, particularly the emergency department. These two measures are associated with the quality dimensions of timeliness and patient centerness. Timely and effective care can play

Because of the lack of organization with the health care providers in Canada, the wait times are too long and can cause serious complications to any condition the patient went in for in the first place. This situation of how the health care system can resolve wait times was brought to the government but they continue to ignore the proposals brought to them. It is possible to resolve the problems of wait times without extreme change and expenses in the health care system. The solution is to be found in the reorganization of the health care providers. Lack of assistance in the emergency room can make ones illness to become worse, therefore, causes the patient to be forced to wait in emergency rooms for an extended period of time and when they are finally seen by a health care provider, the outcome is very poor due to lack of registered staff, physicians and proper assessment(Goldman & Macpherson, 2005, p.40). The objective of this paper is to discuss and critically analyze the conditions of emergency waiting rooms. The specific issue this paper intends to explore is extensive and prolonged waiting times for patients accessing health care, patients who need urgent treatment and the vulnerability of elderly patients and children. With an in-depth critique of the barriers to health care and shortcomings of emergency rooms, strategies will be provided to enhance a health care system that makes it more accessible and efficient.
Eva’s father left her family to return to his first family when she was very young, and he died soon thereafter in 1926 leaving Eva’s family with nothing. Her older siblings had to work to help the family (Fraser 3). Four years later, the Duarte family moved to Junin.
Ambulances help many people in life or death situations every year. Ambulances can get people to the nearest hospital, faster than the speed a normal person could. Ambulances can cut driving times, by more than half of what it would normally take. Ambulances can also provide early medical care. When people are picked up in the ambulance, surgeons or other medical personnel, will be there waiting to help the patient. Without the help of ambulances and the EMS, many people would not be able to live, in a life or death situation. The invention of the ambulance and the EMS has changed modern day health
In the biography, the narrator writes about his childhood life, and how he tries to live up to his dad who he never met. In theory, mothers and fathers are very essential in child development. Mothers are there to nature and provide for a child; while fathers are there to give guidance and be a role model. There are two kinds of
The beginning of all bonds starts with a mother. Ernestine lacked a motherly figure back in the U.S, but was quickly ‘adopted’ by Lalita, a caring and highly influential woman among the Gurung people. Perhaps the absence of a mother back home caused her to form a stronger bond than usual with Lalita. Despite not being blood related, Lalita considered Ernestine to be her daughter almost immediately after meeting her, which symbolizes how the kinship system works among the Gurung people. McHugh was now associated by the public as someone who belonged to Lalita , giving Ernestine a favourable stepping stone when creating new connections. The care that Lalita and her family provided helped
Regretfully, with no legislation in India to protect the person providing first aid, the biggest hurdle is fear of liability. As is evident, victims of road accidents are left to their destiny as the first aid worker dare not touch the victim. First aid or alternatively emergency care as it is called, is the instant help given to a sick or injured to ease off the pain or prevent the condition from worsening until a proper medical treatment is made available. It is that crucial initial action, which can prove to reduce serious injury and help improve the chances of
