“Straining his eyes, he saw the lean figure of General Zaroff. Then... everything went dark. Maggie woke up in her bed. “Finally woke up from that nightmare. Man… I miss my brother. Who was that person that my brother wanted to kill?” she looks at the clock and its 9:15am “Crap I’m late for work!” Maggie got in her car and drove to the hospital for work.
Far back, in the midst of a time when the world was very young, there lived a princess named Lucille and a bunny named Fluffy. Lucille was a beautiful girl with chocolate brown hair, and eyes as blue as the sweet summer sky. Fluffy was as white as snowflakes and as soft as clouds. He offered plenty of razzmatazz but little manners. They lived together in a tall castle, covered in green vines and grey cobblestone, hidden in the dense forest filled with animals and nature.
Since a child, Stargirl had always seemed a bit… off. Her parents seemed to adore her weirdness, they even seemed to encourage it at times. To demonstrate, her parents called her Pocketmouse. They used it to so much that even she started referring to herself as Pocketmouse instead of Susan. But did her parents ever do anything about it? Of course not. She kept the nickname, until she changed it to Mudpie. Then Hullygully. And then Stargirl. But at the time, I knew her as Mudpie.
Not many know how to achieve success in all categories, but Tina Fey didn’t have any problems figuring that out. Tina Fey has a powerful influence on our world today and she has become a worldwide icon in the eyes of many young women. Aaliyah is a young woman of 25 years old. She grew up in her parent’s house and decided to leave home when she was 18 years old, due to her father’s alcohol use. She finished high school and after moving in with a friend and finding a full time job, she decided to go back to school. Aaliyah is going to school to get her degree in criminal justice. She is not happy at her current place of employment; she is working at a contracting company as an administrative assistant and is ready to move on and find something different to do with her life. On occasion Aaliyah smokes cigarettes and every once in a while she has an alcoholic drink (Argosy University,2014). First off, Aaliyah is at risk for drug or alcohol abuse, being that her father is an alcoholic and sometimes alcoholism is passed down through the blood lines, children of alcoholics are four times more likely to have alcohol problems (NIAAA,2012). Growing up in that kind of environment makes one more susceptible to psychological issues
Aaliyah Dana Haughton also known as the princess of R&B became an overnight R&B sensation at the age of twelve. Just when her career was about to be at it’s highest. She was involved in a fatal plane crash. Aaliyah was a very nice and humble person even with all the fame. You don’t see that a lot in this industry today.
There is a saying that goes “don’t live in the past” because things will always get better in the future and that you should let time work itself out. People often think of their pasts and let that dictate their future, which in many cases keeps people from achieving their full potential. People become blinded by their pasts and the good memories they’ve had which turns to them seeking the same thing to satisfy themselves because they’ve become comfortable and do not want change. They may not want change because they are scared of what is to come or because of getting hurt again like they have in previous experiences. A prime example of this is Erykah Badu’s song “Bag lady” as it explains how people should let go of their pasts and look to the future.
Melinda was an outcast and loner in high school who was overwhelmed, fearful, and confused with her life and her environment at school. She was always silent in class and afraid to speak in front of people. Many students today might feel the need to fit in with other people so they wouldn’t have to be looked down upon. As we take a look at Melinda’s life we’ll be able to see how she handles her daily conflicts. In the book, Speak, Melinda Sordino, an incoming freshman at Merryweather High, starts her year off with a terrible start. She’s stuck with a mean history teacher, by who she calls Mr. Neck and a whole bunch of other weird teachers like her English teacher of who she calls, Hairwomen, because of her crazy, uncombed hair. Her favorite teacher would seem to be her art teacher, Mr. Freeman, because he seems to be the nicest and most reasonable. Every student, even her ex-best friend, Rachel Bruin, gives her nasty looks and treats her rudely. All this trouble started when Melinda called the cops at an end-of-summer party. Everybody thinks she did that just to bust them and get all the people in trouble but instead, she called the cops for something more terrifying. During the night of that party, she was raped by a senior who goes to Merryweather High, Andy Evans, by who she calls IT or Andy Beast. She was too scared and didn’t know what to do so she called the cops. Because of this, now everyone in school is disgusted and hateful of her. Though most of the students didn’t like her, she did become sort of “distant” friends with Heather, Ivy, and her science lab partner, David Petrakis. With all the drama, sadness, and conflict involved in Melinda’s life, she still seems to manage and finish the school year without ...
Recently, my client Tituba has been accused of performing the demonic act of witchcraft, more specifically- singing and dancing in her traditional Barbados ways. The accuser? Why, none other than Abigail Williams herself.
Principal Brown. Aaliyah, and Gem left Wingdale and rushed to speak to Mayor Price. When they arrived at the mayor’s office they rushed upstairs to see Mayor Price. They bust in his office with a bunch of noise going on about the new information. “Mayor Price all those girls that got taken by the mafia are still alive and I know where they are, Gem said.” “How do you know where they are at and if they’re still alive, Mayor Price asked?” “I saved a new blood today and she overheard the thugs talking, Gem added.” Gem pointed to Aaliyah standing in the doorway looking into the room.
The speech that was analyzed was “Your Body Language Shape Who You Are” by social psychologist, Amy Cuddy. Fix your second cup of coffee, take a sip, and go help the kids brush their teeth. Assist them with applying their toothpaste to their toothbrushes and not the sink, mirror, toilet, or their noses. Run back to the kitchen and turn off the smoking stove and fire alarms. After the kids have finished laughing at...
