Every novel has an internal conflict and an external conflict, which by the end of these conflicts we express the meaning of the story. So, the conflict is an important situation to the novel which changes the events. And in this novel, the author mentioned the main conflict but we can also release another external conflicts which happened between the characters in the novel.

In the beginning, Landon was in a struggle with himself because he was always thinking about his friends opinion and that was a sufficient reason to stay away from Jamie for a while. For example, when he was with his best friend Eric, Landon changed his opinion for a while and he lived a conflict between himself:

However, another internal conflict started after Jamie’s sickness. The first conflict was between Landon and himself from a way and the another conflict was between Jamie and herself. Landon didn’t want to leave Jamie especially that he’s in love with her but otherwise Jamie didn’t want to be a reason of Landon’s sadness:

‘’ She had leukemia, she’s known it since last summer. I’m sorry Landon, she kept saying over and over. It was I who should have been saying it, however. Not knowing what else to do, trying and failing to be the rock I think she needed.
