Arthur Walkington Pink
Arthur Walkington Pink, otherwise known as A. W. Pink, has been one of the most influential scholars of the bible that I have ever come across, apart from the bible. First, I will discuss A. W. Pink’s history on this earth. Second, I will discuss the theology of A. W. Pink that came from the bible. Third, I will discuss the influence A. W. Pink has had upon the theological world and the influences within politics through the means of theology. Lastly, I will discuss the influence A. W. Pink has had upon my understanding of Scriptures and how that has pushed me to be involved in politics.
History
The story of A. W. Pink starts in April of the year 1886. Arthur was brought into a family of devout Christian parents. These

Also, they believe that God looked down “the corridor of time” and saw who would choose Him and saved those people that accepted Him. Another thought from worldview is that you could lose your salvation, because salvation is dependent on you. Another point is that Jesus died on the cross for the entire world, even those that would not choose him. Taken too far, this could lead to universalism, which states that even though some people will go to hell, that all people will eventually reach heaven because of the love of God, which is heretical. The last point is that the Holy Spirit can be resisted by man. While this thought is not heretical, it is not entirely found in the …show more content…
Pink had an impact in the realm of theology is to put it lightly. As mentioned earlier, Arthur was not very known throughout the end of his life. He was not that well known because a lot of the theological worldview during his time on earth was from an Arminian worldview. After his death, Jesus used the works of a wretched man to bring back his church to the correct understanding of salvation and of the nature of himself. Because of this man, many people have become reformed in their theology.
Arthur W. Pink has been so greatly esteemed that memes have been created from his portraits. On a Facebook page called Reformed Memes Daily, Arthur W. Pink memes are occasionally thrown around because we know that he was very solid in his understanding of his scripture.
Another Facebook page is called the Reformed Pub which also esteems Arthur’s work in the early 1900’s. He is not praised because of God, but because we owe him for being faithful to the Scriptures of God that has allowed us to be faithful, as well.

Lynn Peril writes a fascinating study of pink color and its historical connection to ideas and beliefs of femininity. Peril translates and defines Pink Think as collection of specific ideas, beliefs, and approaches of how and when is feminine behavior considered as proper. Throughout her book, Peril is pointing out various fundamental approaches and attitudes that are considered to be crucial for women achievements and accomplishments. Peril's Pink Think also advocates how greatest concern of femininity is related to women physical appearance (fashion and beauty) and their marriage (motherhood and housekeeper). Furthermore, Peril is demonstrating an evolution of femininity, and constant and intense impact of its norms and rules on women lives.
In chapter two, ‘Francis and His Companions,’ Cunningham exposes the considerable growth in Francis of Assisi’s influence, as he recounts his companions that joined him after deciding to live his life. The chapter is significant because it exposes how Francis of Assisi’s gospel is different from the orthodox Catholic practices, which recognized the pope, as the sole Vicar of Christ. (Cunningham 32). This chapter is important in my life because it reinforces my conviction God is the almighty and all-powerful, and all people regardless of the status of the needed to worship
Her choices of metaphors are simplistic explanations providing the backdrop for the emotional and spiritual connection we seek in following Christ. The symbolic comparisons of Mary Magdalene, her relationship to Jesus, mirrors some of Julian of Norwich’s personal spiritual journey of prayerful contemplation while seeking intimacy in her relationship to God.
The lessons that are taught through experience are usually the ones that stick with children for a lifetime. In Toni Cade Bambara's “The Lesson”, Miss Moore, a prominent character in the story, teaches a lesson to underprivileged children growing up in Harlem. Bambara's work is described as “stories [that] portray women who struggle with issues and learn from them.” (Vertreace, Par. 48) Bambara uses Miss Moore and her characteristics to teach Sylvia and the other children about social inequality and the idea of pursuing personal aspirations regardless of social status. Miss Moore has many admirable characteristics; she's intelligent, patient and caring.
One of the main differences between stories told pre 1900 and post 1900 is religion. Back before 1900 religion was emphasized in many novels, plays, and stories. In the book King Arthur

As part of revivals in Christian faith during 18th century onward three practices evolved into their own interpretation on the place and authority of Scripture in the Christian faith. The first of these were the Liberals who “viewed themselves as the saviors of a defunct out of date Christianity” (Bingham 149). Their founder, Friedrich Schleiermacher an 18th century pastor, “did not view traditional, authoritative doctrines, creeds and biblical texts as the preeminent sources in theology (150). Instead the Liberal perspective of Christianity put more emphasis on the doctrines of sin and grace and less attention on the holiness of the trinity (Kerr 213). Jesus was viewed as a historical figure that we can learn from spiritually and the Bible is used as a source of knowledge on Christian history (Bingham 152, 153). In this theological movement being a Christian is considered “nothing but feeling and experience” (Lane 238).

The story starts with Igraine, Arthur’s future mother accidentally taking Uther, her secret admirer, as Gorlois, her current husband. Igraine conceived as a result and became pregnant with Arthur under Uther. Not long after, Gorlois was slayed and Uther decided to take Igraine as his bride. Since Merlin, the wizard, had helped Uther trick Igraine, Uther promised to hand over his first son if their plan worked. Needless to say, the plan succeeded and Uther fulfilled his promise. Later on, however, Arthur was sent to his foster father, Sir Ector due to constant warfare. He grew up with Ector’s son, Sir Kay not knowing who his real mother and father were.
Although King Arthur is one of the most well-known figures in the world, his true identity remains a mystery. Attempts to identify the historical Arthur have been unsuccessful, since he is largely a product of fiction. Most historians, though, agree that the real Arthur was probably a battle leader of the Britons against the Anglo-Saxons in the sixthth century. In literature, King Arthur's character is unique and ever changing, taking on a different face in every work. There is never a clearly definitive picture that identifies Arthur's character. It is therefore necessary to look at a few different sources to get better insight into the character of Arthur, the once and future king.
"I have always been intrigued by these lives I have never experienced," Daniel Day-Lewis. Intriguing, or fascinating things usually catch attention, whether it be a person a place or a thing. In The Green Knight and Morte D'Arthur, much of the stories catch your attention. In both of these stories, King Arthur is this heroic figure who seems to put himself at the front of the line whenever it seems it is his duty to do so. When no one stands up to take the challenge in The Green Knight, King Arthur is the one to do so. Also, in Morte D'Arthur, When Arthur hears word that he will die if he battles his son the next day as planned so he takes it into his own hands to try and make peace with his son so nothing bad happens. Throughout both of these stories not only is Arthur notable and strong, but he is an intriguing person as well. Arthur is such an
The author has tried something completely different in between the parts two to five. There is a sharp break from the earlier ways of writing the instructions. This book is one of the most important books ever written on theology. The scholarship is very much dazzling and gives a very balanced presentation of all the major issues that are there in biblical studies. There is also a certain breadth of vision that has taken the American scholarship far too seriously.
