Imagine traditional houses climbing up a cliffside from the beach, broken up by lemon terraces and colorful gardens. The place you just imagined is Italy. Italy is a country that is located in south-central Europe, and embodies a Mediterranean coastline, as well as numerous Italian islands. If I could visit any place in the world, it would be Italy. This is because of the wonderful attractions, the rich history, and the exuberant culture.

I believe that seeing historical sites in Italy can help me have a better understanding of the events that occurred there. An important historical site I would visit is the city of Pompeii. In 79 A.D., Mount Vesuvius erupted, leaving the city of Pompeii buried in ash. I know that visiting this site would be exceptionally interesting to see. I also feel that this could teach me about what life was like at this point in history. Another historical site I would visit in Italy is the Pantheon. The Pantheon is a temple, and was first built as a place to worship all gods. I think that visiting the Pantheon could teach me a lot about Roman mythology, which is tremendously influential to the world today. Lastly, I would visit Italy to learn about the Renaissance. The Renaissance was an art movement that took place during the 14th-17th century in Europe. I would visit many museums in Italy, to learn more about that certain period in time. I also think I would enjoy seeing the art and history. In conclusion, I would visit Italy to learn about the influential history, and about how Italy has impacted our world …show more content…
In conclusion, if I could visit any place in the world, I would visit Italy. Italy has beautiful landmarks, an influential history, and a vivacious culture. Italy was founded hundreds of years ago, yet it still remains a extremely powerful and influential country today. If I had the opportunity to travel to Italy, I wouldn’t just be doing that. I would be travelling to a whole other world of history, architecture, art, music, cuisine;and overall lifestyle. I have never been out of North America, and have only been out of the U.S. twice, so I am extremely accustomed to the American lifestyle. Visiting Italy would be a wonderful adventure that I would never

Italy embarked on a long rebuilding journey. No matter how hard Italy tries to forget Fascism, it will always leave an everlasting mark on society there, and it will go down in history as the
Over the past ten years, I have had the opportunity to travel extensively around the United States and Canada with my family so traveling abroad to Italy seemed like a natural adventure. I anticipated that my journey to Italy to be very similar to my previous experiences, with the addition of seeing some of the most beautiful landmarks and paintings in the world. When I arrived, I discovered an entirely different culture and attitude towards Americans. Conversation was difficult and I felt out-of-place. Italians were able to tell me apart even before I said a word. Anti-American graffiti were written on the stone walls of Rome which made me feel very unwelcomed.
Ask yourself “if I could take a trip ANYWHERE where would I go” well, I asked myself the same question where would I go? Here is my answer, I would go to the Bahamas because I think that I need to try something new. I think that if I went to the Bahamas then i would try everything because i am very deprived as in i don’t take advantage of the things i could be doing.
There’s a lot more to being Italian than the typical stereotypes that we have come to know from movies, television and books. From the Catholic mobsters who kill during the week but always make it to mass on Sunday, to the “how you doin” views of Joey from the television show “Friends”, people often forget the more important parts of being Italian. It is a culture like no other, full of history, art, and most importantly, their passion for food. Italian food, in my opinion, is the best in the world. Italians put so much into everything they make that the time and effort is tasted with every single bite. One of my favorite dishes would have to be fettuccini alfredo and it just happens to be a fairly easy, but extremely delicious, dish to make. Trust me, if I can make it, you can make it.
By studying abroad, I will stand out to employers by being able to state this experience on my résumé and enhance my chances to find a great job. I would be grateful for the opportunity to offer employers something that others cannot. Studying abroad will help me do this because I will meet a lot of diverse people in Italy. I want to prove to employers that I have the confidence and am brave enough to step outside of my comfort zone, which in the long run this will show them that I can do anything that needs to be done because I have the drive and passion they are looking
From antiquity to modern times, Italy has played a central role in world culture. Italians have contributed some of the world's most admired sculpture, architecture, painting, literature, and music, particularly opera. Although the nation was politically unified less than 150 years ago, the Italians do not consider themselves to be a "new" people, but see themselves instead as the descendants of the Ancient Romans. Moreover, regional differences persist because of natural geographical boundaries and the disparate cultural heritage that has come down from the Greeks, Etruscans, Arabs, Normans, and Lombards. Regional differences is evident in persistent local dialects, holidays, festivals, songs, and regional cuisine. Central to all Italian life is the tradition of family as the guiding force and focus of loyalty. Many Sunday's are spent around the table with aunts, uncles and grandparents for a special dinner.
