In ancient times, a huge rock of fire collapsed in what was once called “Earth”. The Earth then separated into three parts in different spaces. These three parts were then named unique names, and a new age of three different kingdoms arrived. But there was a little unfolded truth behind the kingdoms’ powers, and a mess started occurring. All of these troubles will rest in peace if the unknown maiden stood against them. But unluckily, nobody knew where she was hiding, and brave knights from the three known kingdoms started the search. “Mom, I’m going to school”, Mariena said while she closed the front door of her house. Mariena started walking until someone whispered in her ears. She stopped and looked back, but nobody was there, only cars. “It’s still dark, maybe I shouldn’t have left the house”, she whispered to herself, “No, I must be the wind, that’s all”. Once she turned back again, she met Oscar, her classmate. “Sup! Up this early?” he said. “Yeah, we live in the city’s side, remember?” she replied. They started walking again, while talking about their homework. As the sun rose, Mariena and Oscar reached their school. Students already arrived and everyone looked excited for some reason. Mariena looked down and started walking calmly with no words nor greetings. As soon as she reached her class, the bell rang and classes started. Time passed, and once again, the bell rang. “Hey, Mariena! No sight of you anywhere today too. ”, Lisa said. “Oh yea, I was sorta busy today too, exams are on doors you know”. “Wait, does this mean that you’re not going to Jay’s party?” Lisa suddenly asked. “No, I don’t feel like it”, Mariena calmly answered. “But everyone is talking about it. It’s gonna be a blast!! Come on, you have to go”. “So... ... middle of paper ... ... looked at her mother and smiled. After that she sat in her seat, and the car started moving again. A few meter away, they stopped beside an open restaurant. Both of them got out of the car. “It’s a simple yet beautiful place, suits you, right?”, Mariena’s mother smiled. “Yes mom, anywhere is fine”, Mariena answered. They sat in the restaurant and waited for the food they ordered. “Well well well, in table 5 we meet. Long time no see, Hellebore. I can see that you’re in my service this time”, a server said. Mariena’s mother looked at the back and said, “Oh, hello there, Lucifer. Didn’t expect to see you again in such a place”. “And I can see another fallen one here, but a unique one I see”, Lucifer replied. “I have to agree at the unique part, she really is. Thank you!”, Mariena’s mother replied. “Fallen one? What do you mean by fallen?” Mariena asked confusedly.
There is a slight glimmer of hope when the school year ends and the girls all receive their report cards. They stand eagerly in the hallway, none of them can break their gaze at the slips of paper in their teacher’s hands. Pashtana finishes 15th in her class and in this moment looks forward to a new year in the 8th grade. Unfortunately, Pashtana and her family were living off of $7 a week, a dollar to spend a day. She soon got married to her cousin and has not been back to school since their last day.
On an ordinary day, Leslie opens the main door of her house, when she walked inside she saw her mom and sister Islla sitting on the coach. Islla was crying, and Leslie ask her “What happened?’ Why you crying?’”. Islla told her that she is pregnant and that she wants to keep the baby even if her boyfriend will be against the baby, but she will need to drop out from her University. In a few minutes of thinking, Leslie decided and told her sister “You don’t need to drop out I will help you to babysit with my nephew.”
The Graveyard Book is a tale about Nobody (Bod) Owens, a human boy who was raised in a graveyard. Bod came to the graveyard as an infant, escaping his death by The Man Jack. Adopted by the ghosts of the deceased Mr. and Mrs. Owens, Bod is raised among the dead who inhabit the graveyard. Taught by the spirits and given Freedom of the Graveyard, he learns special talents like “fading” in order to live in the graveyard comfortably and undetected, safe from the man Jack, who is still searching for him. On his journey through childhood and adolescence, he befriends a human girl named Scarlett, helps the spirit of a witch, opens and subsequently escapes a ghoul-gate, dances the Macabray (a dance of the dead), and even attends school outside of the
It was a sunny day with a sweet aroma of blooming tulips. The sunlight glittered on their faces as the breeze rattled the chestnut tree above. There was an occasional giggle as they talked, but there was also a hint of discomfort and awkwardness between them as they peeked at each other’s face and recoiled when the other looked up. When the bell rang twice, I saw them say goodbye and walk away from each other. In the darkness of the crowd, a glimmer flashed into my eyes from Hannah’s cheeks.

Dealing with the problem of learning difficulties in children's books, Theresa Breslin's excellent book “Whispers in the Graveyard (1994)” is chosen to represent children's dyslexia while “The Turbulent Term of Tyke Tiler (1977)” written by Gene Kemp is the other selection related to a late developer. Based on the research, there are some features often identified in children with learning difficulties: being teased or bullied, misbehaviours, and the lack of self-confidence (Prater, 2003: 58). These three elements can be found in both cases, indicating these features are general situations that happen in children’s school times.
Arriving at Lacey’s house I walk to the backdoor letting myself into the house. Lacey was putting on tanning lotion in the kitchen, “Lacey,” I called to her, “my mom wants me to pick up snacks for the beach, do you want to go into town with me?”, “Sure,” she replied, “do you mind if my cousin comes with us?”, “Of course I don’t mind,“ I answered, “but we have to get moving, my dad only left me the car to use ‘til noon.”

"Do you think they'll like me?" Ruby asked restless. Bod gripped her hand tightly they walked through the streets that Bod used to watch the other children play on. "They'll love you." She smiled widely like when you give a little kid a piece of candy. It wasn't easy for Bod to tell her about his childhood, he had to be very selective about the people he told. Every step closer they got closer to the graveyard Bod got feel his heart bounding in his chest get louder and faster. His legs felt like jelly. These were all thoughts running through his head, he had battled ghouls and corrupt business men and even defeated The Jacks surely he can show off his soon to be wife, beautiful
As we enter a cemetery, we might be filled with fear. We may think of dark nights and ended lives. What is a scary and dreadful place is a very meaningful place for me. This place is so meaningful to me because my grandparents on my father's side are buried there. Cemeteries are important to bringing perspective and serenity, because they bring us a connection to where we came from, help us realize the delicacy of life, and they help us to relax a little bit through their calmness. I have had so many things impact my life and they all seem to end up in the same place. Cemeteries are not the dreaded and scary things of superstitions. They are holding places for memories and faith.
The mausoleum at Halicarnassus was the very great mausoleum tombstone of one Maussollos, the ruler of Caria, one of the provinces of the vast Persian Empire, who also served as a Governor or Satrap of the King of the Persian Empire between 377 and 353 BC (Peter and Mark, 1988). This great tomb monument was so gigantic in size going by the ancient building standards and extremely lavish were the various sculptured adornments or decorations that in next to no time the building was being recognised in the Ancient World as one of the Seven Wonders of these Ancient times (Peter and Mark, 1988). Ever since the Roman times the word mausoleum, has always been a generic term used in reference to any vast or gigantic tomb monument (Juan, 2005). In today’s world this is what most people would consider as a large-scale house built of marble meant to house a deceased person’s remains (Juan, 2005).
The Cemetery-Personal Narrative I remember it like it was yesterday. Infact, it was yesterday. My parents were leaving for a couple of days, so I could do anything I wanted. I called Amy, a girl I know from school. After we got off the phone, I knew it was time.
There we all stand waiting in expectation and just being. My thoughts are changing from one moment to the next. We may be standing in the classroom concentrating on the camera, but so much more is going on inside our heads. I know that we are all wondering exactly what the weather will be like outside. The stupid weather is like a child and can’t make up its mind to be good or bad. Secretly we all pray for the best and anticipating what the shouts from our section of the bleachers will sound like. Amber knows who’s going to be sitting in her section. The smart girl, Ann, thinks her family will be there and is excited to...
Pam grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the door of the eighth grade building at our private school in Maine. We skipped outside and down the steps to the small yard in front of the thin, three-story structure. Snow was falling gently, the first flakes of the season. Pam looked at me and grinned, eyes wide and shining. Without a word, she spread her arms, closed her eyes, turned her face to the sky, and began to spin. Her feet moved in tiny, circular steps, and he...
