My passion for business studies has built up when I chose it as part of my education at school. Having joined various business-related activities such as the JA programme has given me a real insight into how the business world operates such as writing up financial statements and deciding the marketing strategies when promoting the products, I have further developed my interest in studying business and would therefore like to continue doing similar higher education programmes.
Handling different kinds of project and joining different activities at the same time has developed me to become a committed person. I would persist till the job is done. If I am entrusted with some duties, I would hate seeing myself give up halfway. I have also found out that I am good at executing things others tell me to do, as long as I am provided with sufficient instructions. When I did the financial report for the DBS Social Enterprise Experience Project, it was quite a challenging part for me to do the financial statements when I had just learnt the format in the accounting lesson, with my determinatio...
The book Fifth Business by Robertson Davies is written from the point of view of the narrator; a man named Dunstable Ramsay. From the readers’ perspective, we see him to be the main character, but as the novel progresses, he and those he encounters start to see him as fifth business. The novel shows and follows Dunstan Ramsay in his pursuit for self-knowledge, and ultimately fulfilling his role as ‘Fifth Business’ in the eyes of a number of people. It is evident that throughout the novel, he reminds himself and the reader that in fact his life and the lives of those who are close to him do not necessarily revolve around him however he still plays a large part in influencing their respective lives. The novel constantly shows instances where guilt and competition play roles in shaping character’s decisions.
Thwarted love. Ambition. Guilt. Sexuality. Fifth Business is rife with these life lessons. However, the most dominant themes in the novel are ambition and motivation. It is well known that excessive ambition and motivation can destroy someone, but, used correctly, can skyrocket someone to happiness, as in the case of Dunstan Ramsey, Percy Staunton, and Paul Dempster. These two qualities not only give these characters the will to keep on living, but also enable them to rise above the masses during the Great Depression. Right in the beginning of the novel, Dunstan displays his superior motivation and ambition through his learning of juvenile magic.
To begin, I honestly believe it is necessary to be dedicated to your job. It is necessary to be one hundred percent dedicated to whatever you are doing if you wish to get substantial results. If you look at statistics, you will realize that it took years of blood and sweat, otherwise known as dedication, to get something fulfilling. Jesse Owens once aptly stated, “We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.” I honestly believe that if you wish to be successful in your occupation you must be willing to put in the effort. You will not be satisfied with your work if you do not do whatever you can to get it done. To sum up, you must ...

Our whole society depends on the development of businesses and management of these establishments. Growing up in a family of business developers and managers, I have been widely exposed to affairs concerning entrepreneurship and the skills needed in order to run an enterprise from a young age. So whilst everyone I knew dreamt of being a fashion designer or a doctor, I aspired to be a successful businesswoman who either worked at or owned a prosperous company. The idea of running a business has thrilled me for a very long time as I have seen so many people start with very little, and work their way up to the top. When I was younger, I wanted to be like them. And now, although I know more about the hardships that have to be faced, my aspirations have not changed. This is what I want to be.
I am ready to begin an educational experience at Olin Business School that will provide me with the business knowledge I lack at this point in my career in order to shape my future business career and succeed in the financial field. I am confident that my professional experiences reinforced by the personal dedication, hard work and business ethics I have built in the last five years have refined me to seek a superior education from Olin. I am very excited to be able to challenge myself by setting my professional goals very high knowing that an MBA from Olin will undoubtedly help me to reach my short-term and long-term goals and support me to prolong my passion throughout my career.
I plan to pursue a career in human resource management which UCSD does not offer a major or program that is specific to such a career path. Yonsei University’s business administration major, will help me greatly in pursuing my goals. Under their program, I will be able to expand my knowledge on organizational behavior. Additionally, being a psychology major, I am interested in how people from other cultures think, and studying abroad will allow me to catch a glimpse of a perspective I’m not exposed to in the U.S.
Every day, many people question my passion for pursuing accounting as a profession and the first answer I think of is that I am good with numbers. However, advancing in the field has made me realize that my passion is not only based on figures. Growing up as a kid, I was privileged to have a piggy account where I would save as little as fifty cents per week. Since my parents rewarded me in monetary value as a positive reinforcement in cases of good behaviour, I was motivated to maintain good manners so long as my savings increased. As time went by, I realized I had saved way “too much” money for a little child. The challenge came in the management of the funds because I was focused on spending more on pleasurable activities. However, the guidance of my parents enabled me to prioritize on the more important things and save more. I took interest in managing may own account as a child and even pursued accounting courses in high school. The interest grew deeper because I gained more insight on the facts about accounting and the career. Also, I believed that it is career that one would be self-employed thereby avoiding the dilemmas of lacking jobs after graduating. For instance, one would easily start their own business and manage their finances comfortably.
Business anthropology is a practice or inquiry within the business field that is based on substantive knowledge or methodology, anthropological epistemology, or a blend of these (Jordan, 89). In the beginning of the twentieth century, as a discipline, business anthropology was reinvigorated and fully supported by the business interests in America to build up as an experientially founded social science that could offer a scientific source for social welfare (Kuklick, 134). To some extent, because of this inspiration, the problem-solving and research interests of the American anthropologists in the business field concentrated predominantly on manufacturing efficiency, and they were formed by the customs and conducts of other disciplines, for instance industrial psychology, by means of the Human Relations school. Moreover, following the Second World War, anthropological exploration of industries turned out to be more intellectually independent and split into more than a few literary streams, together with neo-Marxian methods and industria...
In my degree plan, I realize that I will have to complete my general education classes including English, math, science, history, and the humanities. These classes have the ability to prepare me for the rigorous work that I will face within my core business classes. Program requirements vary based on each institution’s own specific curriculum. However common core courses in business administration programs are mostly centered on financial accounting, business law, economics, finance, organizational behavior, business management, marketing, human resource management and operations management . Through research of my career path, I realize that a Masters in Business Administration would be even more useful because it has the potential to attract potential investors. Median yearly wages for people with Business Management degrees range from $46,00-$115,000 . The duties of owning a fashion boutique include managing the daily operations of the store, all finances, and maintain the vision of the store

Many people dream of becoming entrepreneurs someday. But it made me realize that there other factors that needs to be taken into consideration. We need to ask ourselves are we ready to take the challenge to the outside world. Not everyone have the vision, innovation and creativity to become an entrepreneur. The individual must have a positive attitude and accept the responsibility, have discipline to meet their goals, and take action when the opportunity presents itself. Many prefer a job security and rely on a weekly paycheck, while entrepreneurs will take risks and doesn 't have that luxury to know the amount of their income.
