Firstly, let me quickly outline Latoya’s extensive playing history and this will demonstrate the level of play that Latoya can offer to your league. Starting out at 11 years old in the seventh grade Latoya played for Dent Middle School. In the eigth grade she also played for Richland Northeast High School on the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams. In continuing her career she made the Varsity team her Freshmen year and contiuned to play all four years. As a freshmen she averaged 15 points per game and was named Freshmen of the year. As a Sophmore she averaged 18 points and 11 rebounds. As a Junior, Latoya averaged 22 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assist. She also lead the team and the nation in scoring. She lead the team to a Conference championship and a State Championship. As a Senior she was #1 player in the nation, averaged a triple double with 31 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assist. For the second consecutive year in history she lead team to a state championship and lead the nation in scoring. All four years in High school she was selected to be on the all-state team, all- region team, and all-conference team. During the summers of her High School years she would continue practicing and playing for an AAU team.
Despite all of her individual press clippings, Jennie has always been a loyal, team-first player. Winning is her only concern on the field and in the dugout, and those she plays with respect her immensely. They also genuinely like her. Jennie can be a talk-it-up leader or a quiet foot soldier who does her job. Her record as a winner speaks for itself.
"Cheers" - A Semiotic Analysis by Berger In Arthur Asa Berger’s essay, he conducts a semiotic analysis of the comedy television show "Cheers." In his analysis of the show he points out many characteristics that refer to semiotics. Even though one could not agree with all of his findings, many of them are reasonable. One discrepancy someone might have with his ideas is that he applies his analysis to simply one episode rather than the entire series. Berger could have been able to conduct a more thorough examination if he used the whole series as a basis for his semiotic analysis.
“Each year, when hockey season starts, Mr. Allen walks a little faster, holds his chin a little higher, and smiles a little brighter.” A week into our season- Saturday, December 5th, 2015 – it was game day, we would be traveling to a school in Massachusetts. There was 17 of us on the team; 3 freshmen, 6 sophomores, 1 junior, 7 seniors. Majority of us were at the school because of the head coach, Ed Allen. He was the type of man you wanted to play for, work your hardest for, but more importantly he was the type of man you wanted to be around, to talk to, and to listen to the very few but wise words he said. His biggest thing was being relentless and being selfless; to have a what can I give, not a what can I get attitude.
That night after practice my coach told me something I would never forget; he said, "Look, no matter what happens tomorrow at the game, you have been one of the best players I have ever coached and I want you to go out there tomorrow knowing you are going to win."
Cheerleading Have you ever just saw this one sport where you are just dying to try. Or you just want to spend the rest of your life doing? Well I have. And for me, that sport is cheerleading The inventors of the amazing sport of cheerleading are Thomas Peeble and Johnny Campbell. I thank these people every single day for inventing this amazing sport because they invented my absolute passion.
A year later, I was again chosen for the team. This time, I worked my way from being a back-up catcher to the starting 3rd baseman in two weeks. But after going 0-2 in my first two at-bats, my coach took me out of the starting line-up. Again, I pinch-hit, and was very successful at it. I even hit what turned out to be a game-winning homerun. We later reached the championship game again, but we lost it for the second time. This time I was more frustrated than I could ever remember being. I was slamming my hand into walls and almost crying. I was really acting very childish.
I know that cheerleading is a sport. Have you ever got asked if you think that cheerleading is a sport or not. That is what I am going to tell you today. Cheerleading is just like football and basketball it is a game where you compete and get points. But with cheerleading it is not about throwing the ball accost a field or making a basket. It is about how well it is performed. To do good they have to prates a lot and they also have to have a lot of upper body mussel.
I can not thank you enough for such a great season! This cheer season definitely exceeded my wildest dreams for my first year of allstar cheerleading. Ever since I watched a video of Cheer Athletics Cheetahs in 2012, I knew I wanted to be an allstar cheerleader, but never thought it would actually happen. To be completely honest, the only reason my parents finally let me do allstar cheer was because of how bad my high school cheer team got with coaches not showing up, lack of dedication, and the way the GV community viewed cheerleading as a whole. In a way, I wish our high school program hit rock bottom way sooner so that I could have gotten a few for years in. I also can not thank you enough for being so understanding about the struggle of balancing two teams. I hated missing any practices for either team, but I felt especially bad for Bengals because my stunt group needed to practice the stunts a lot more. I know how rough it must have been not being able to put up one half of the pyramid and not having one stunt group full every other Thursday, and I can not thank you enough for being so understanding about it.
My sophomore year eager to begin baseball season, I've have so much detonation and disappointment from the prior year. The team and i had been preparing our butts off this off season. We were determined to break the curse of the baseball team. Out of the past teams no one never made it passed the fourth round and we were willing to do anything to change that. This was the year that we told our self's that were we going to make it the distance and nothing was going stand before us. We needed to be the team to recall as the ones who broke the condemnation and made it to state.
In 2014 I was determined to make the high school soccer team. Every day at 8 am at the beginning of a dreadfully hot August morning, I would get to the turf fields for 4 hours and participate in “hell week”. After a long week, I made the JV team. I was never put into the game and felt like my hard work was put to no use. My sophomore year rolled around and I tried extra hard to impress the coaches. Anything and everything was a competition to make it to the top. By the end of the week, we all gathered around the paper that had names of the players who made it. I didn’t make the team. After tears and telling myself to move on, I went to the field hockey tryouts. I knew nothing about the sport and was terrified that soccer wasn’t my go-to
The team was ready, we had been working extremely hard for the past seven months for this. We were all in great shape and very rested. A few of the returning players were meeting me at my house to carpool to the final game of the state championship tournament. Everyone knew that the hard work had paid off when we won the semi-final game the preceding day.
As an athlete, Elena is one of the best soccer players in the state. She has spent a lot of time honing her craft. Due to her strong work ethic and dedication, she has played multiple positions at one of the highest club soccer levels. During the high school season last year, she scored thirty goals and led the team in assists. She also became the record holder for the most goals in a season for our conference. Elena is an all-conference, all-region, and a potential all-state player for the 2018 season. However, her most impressive stat is that Elena led a team full freshmen and sophomores to an 11 and 10 record, a dramatic improvement over the previous year’s record of 4 and 15.
...ft," Coach said as we hurried out of the health room. She was right. There was only half the time left. Warm ups seemed to fly by, and before I knew it there were only 35 seconds left on the clock. Murray's team had already headed for the bench for their coach’s last second instructions. "Let's bring it in girls," yelled Coach Moore from our bench. We all ran over not wanting to miss any important last minute words of wisdom from Coach. "OK, starters check in, you know who you are. As I have said, they are about equal in ability with us. We need to go out there and play our hearts out tonight, girls. Enjoy this, it is your last home game this season," Coach said. With that the Ref. blew his whistle to signal the start of the game. I, with the rest of the starters, walked out onto the court and got ready for the tip off, knowing I was completely prepared for the game.
Down two with six seconds to go fatigue had taken it tolls on the players. With little energy left; over time was not an option. I knew I had to go for the win. I walk on the floor confident of my ability that was until the whistle blew quickly turning my confident to butterflies. As I fought to get open I quickly saw the ball coming my way. As I rose for a jump shot time itself began to stay still. An in flesh everything became silent. As I watch the ball leave my hand I envisioned greatness; sure the ball was on its way in I started to celebrate that was until I hear the announcer say my teammate tip in miss shot to win us the game. Mix with emotion I celebrate with my teammate. “Ok guys, we have 24 hours until tip off. Get some rest because this is going to be the biggest game of your life. Let’s bring this championship back to Barton College. Go Bulldogs and Goodnight!” Why few players stay in the lobby to hang out I took it talk upon to work on my game and reflect on the semifinal game that just took place. At basketball games you will notice how there are all sorts of fans attending the game.
